Ceres nodded a few times at not knowing where Ryan was. She could not really think about that now, she had one shieldless hunter to protect already. "...Kat dont you dare take anything that THING says to heart." She glared ice at the horsewoman, sneering some too.
At the arrival of Gale she greeted a sigh of relief and smiled, though he soon left as well. "Thank you." She said under her breath, good knowing that someone was watching kats back besides her as well.
Standing her ground once more she defended again.

One might think that after her participation in a few battles that Belladonna might learn to actually get used to how they worked, their chaos and confusion. But still, here she was clutching to Mort and waiting for this all to be over. At least until he stepped away toward Ofelia. The witch felt a stab of betrayal over the fact that she was not the one to defend the girl, but there had already been such a huge backlash over Mei's actions... The witch was a coward after all. The arrow through her zombie was at least distraction enough that she tried to ease his fall back with a flailing hand around whatever part of him she could. It didn't work as he fell anyways, then was up after a second and headed off toward Aymet. Anger lanced through the ghoul as she whirled around and found the person who had lodged the arrows. "Hey! Mr. Tall, Look-At-My-Fan!" Belladonna shouted as she began her angry stomp over to Mengyao. Not only did he need to be more careful where he was shooting (for Hecate's sake, he'd shot one of his own!) but-- "Down to size? Goodness, mighty big request for such a small little boy." Belladonna interrupted herself as she saw a familiar face launch an attack on the horseman. With a flick of her hand a small wave of cards shot out and soared over to Jake. "When we've handled this pest, you are getting a scolding! Hasn't anyone ever taught you to aim with those things?" The witch told Mengyao with a pointed stare up at him that she accompanied with a small finger wag. But she tacked it on with a small smile, mostly because it was meant in a kind way.

Waking up, Gene only took shelter behind an outcropping of rocks. She didn't want to fight anymore, and couldn't help any of her wounded students, even if she wanted to so badly. She could only hide and cower, feeling useless until the breaking point.
It was like a surge of energy, an adrenaline shot applied right to her core. Voices cried out in request to have the unleashed Fear returned; the Fear that was causing Gene to feel so powerful and mighty. She fought against the voices for a while, and her own conscience until she couldn't help but listen reluctantly.
Do you really want to be this person, fueled by power and pride?

Inhaling a breath she didn't need, Gene sprinted across the field and put a hand on the cracked orb, feeding it the Fear it had given her.
"Take it back, I don't need it." She half spat half crooned. The voices - what had the Horsemen lost, exactly?

SHEHK is reacting calmly to MIMSY
Mimsy's grabbing would be rewarded with a patch of fur, glowing blood barely tipping the end of it, yet seeming to not actually hurt Shehk - at least she didn't make a pained noise for it.
"Hey. Hey. HEY. HEY!!" Shehk's ears flicked back as she was clawed at, head leaning away from the grabbing hands before the wolf wiggled to try and get out from the woman's hold, shaking her fur out and taking a moment to orient herself.
The cold felt absolutely delightful underneath her paws, she'd confess, but the chaos of the battlefield was far less appealing, the pricolici almost seeming to be bored by it, sitting calmly and admiring the scenery instead.

"Child you are but a fool. To guard that which is seeking death so readily so hopeless and confused." Her wings snapped out launching her forward, one moment she was there, the next nothing but black feathers in her wake.
"I think it's time you get out of my way Moon child." The curved and pointed end of one of the two axes swept low as the Horsemen appeared in antoher flurry of feathers hooking Cere's leg before ripping it out from beneath her, all the while she turned slamming the butt of her other axe down on her back making sure the hunter had no chance of getting up in time as she turned towards Kat.
"Sight seeing," repeated Mengyao dryly, absently scratching his wrist again. The black thorned bracelet did not feel uncomfortable; in fact, it felt as though it belonged around his wrist, as though he had always had it, and always would. He glanced down briefly at it, the gold jewel winking at him, and then back at Lifen.
"You certainly did," he answered her lightly, though his eyes flickered down to the tattered state of the sleeves of his robes, remembering the itching, the burning, the desire to find what he was looking for. He wished he had something to tie back his hair, but as of the moment it would have to do with having it down.
Mengyao's dual-colored eyes moved to one of the hunters he had shot.
"So I do," he said calmly. "Precocious little things, aren't they."
Lifting his hands, he let the bow and arrow flit into being, fitting his fingers around the wire and pulling it back, training it onto the nearest human. The arrow let loose with a whistling sound, missing their target, though Mengyao was not really caring much by now.
A familiar voice made him sigh, turn his head, and level a half exasperated look towards the witch just a few feet away.
"Ah, yes, I should have known you were around here somewhere little witch."

Her moment of rest was brief. Something appeared before her, right out of-- well, not quite thin air. It wasn't just something, but someone, and he bore a striking resemblance to that reaper that had attacked her in the vine room ages ago. Could it be the same one?
It probably was, judging from how polite he seemed.
Her mouth had begun to open with a reply when his weapon connected with her. She really should have seen that coming, and Armagnac agreed with that thought.
"It's a pleasure to see you, too." Sherry swung her glaive in the reaper's direction. It was a weak swing, considering his own attack had sent her stumbling.

Watching Gale as he departed, she turned her attention back to Ceres. She didn't want to let her words effect her, but they did. She was weak, and everyone was risking their lives to protect her. Bowing her head slightly, her head snapped back up when the horsemen kept Ceres at bay. "Ceres!"
Shooting the horsemen a look, she grabbed at another piece of ice, throwing at the horsemen's face. It was just about all she could do right now.

Lex stared dumbfounded at the fox thing for a second, more his phone than him really. They had...phones? Wha-?

Oh, so that's what this thing was. He cocked the hammer of the gun, gave the Kitsune a little sneer and retorted with, "Roll over, pup." and actually managed to shoot the thing in the face.

MIMSY is sciencing SHEHK
As soon as Mimsy felt something break free in her hands, she stopped her frantic grabbing, falling away from her as she focused harder on examining her sample than actually harming anything. Her eyes were still wide, the wonder reflecting in them almost childlike. She'd never seen such a thing. This sort of reaction on a sentient creature was nearly unprecedented.
"This. What is this?" she breathed, still entirely transfixed by the clump of fur in her palm.
Mimsy's HP: 19/40 Fear/ Charges used: 0/2 Bonus Battle Effect: Life Bonus - 2d8 for healing once Damage / Healing / Defending done: n/a
He dodged most of her attack, taking several steps backwards and slipping to the side, parrying the blow with his scythe. Black shadows slipped off the edge of the blade and fizzled into nothingness, Sparrow sweeping back his hair off of his forehead and tilting his head to scrutinize the hunter.
"I've seen you before," he said. "You're familiar, though I can't say it's a pleasure to meet you, as it's rather not right now."

"I assure you it was probably less fun than you had, Mengyao." She offered up to him, giving a sweet little smile at his response, just enough for him to catch it. He had obviously had more . . . fun than she had, and she was admittedly a little worried about him in this manner. He really needed a break, she figured.
Hearing the trill of another voice near her side, she turned her head to view the little witch she had seen at the fashion booth, giving her a warm look, and musing to herself how it was rather . . . amusing to see that people she knew, knew each other.
Giving the girl a lazy wave, she pulled her bow up again and notched an arrow, letting it fly in the direction of the friend that they were joking about, not feeling up to watching Mengyao tussle with him as much as he was already.
