Kiera stared at him a second, then walked out of the room and down the stairs. Once she got to the kitchen, she sniffed the air. Yeah, it definitely stank like Mary. The whole possession thing really had her spooked. And so Mai scared her away? When Asher got back that was something to question her about. She just couldn't be around Shortstraw at the moment, like they were the same sides of a magnet, repelling. She just got herself a glass of water and sighed, leaning against the counter. Cyril and Asher came back at this point, wielding bags full of stuff. Cyril dumped them on the table for now and looked to Kiera, narrowly avoiding staring at her. "You awlright there Ki?" Kiera nodded, and Asher jumped onto the table. "Mary came while you were gone." Asher looked only mildly surprised. "Oh?" Kiera nodded. "And Mai scared her away." She gave Asher a look, and she laughed. "Ah, yes. There was one thing i failed to mention about Mai." Kiera raised an eyebrow. "And that is?" Asher grinned. "Mai is a Komainu." Kiera pulled a face. "The hell is that?" "You know the statues outside of shrines and temples that kind of look like Lions? Those things. They're protectors to ward of evil spirits. I figured you needed one." Kiera chuckled a little, sipping her water. "Nicely played. Really saved Shortstraws a** anyway." Cyril just sighed as he started putting things away. "We're never gonna 'ave anythin' normal in this house, are we?" Kiera sneered at him. "Apart from you, that is."

*Shortstraw shied. Obviouly his mind was changing. He never cared before about those things. Now, he knew he would only find trouble. He needed to clear that from his head. He didn't even understand why it was in his head, so what. Stupid male instincs. He looked to his pad of paper and stared at it a few moments before sitting down and picking it up. Maybe... he just needed to let off some of the stress he was keeping in himself. He at first the nights sleeping would help, and it did untill the nightmares come over and over. He stared at a blank piece of paper. As if he was reading words on it. However he was in deepest of thought. What was the one thing he couldn't do to improve himself and be usful? He couldn't seem to unlock the neckless, the Demon Hunters jewle. He needed somthing in perticular to activate it like the others right? But what was it he hadn't tried. He went through each possablitly and wrote it down on the pad. In the end he sat the paper down and stood up to go down stairs quietly. No on the pad was a list of many diffrent things crossed out... but only one thing circled. SOUL. As he walked down stairs he didn't bather going into the kitchen however he called out, "I need to go talk to someone. We can meet later at the lake..." and with that he was out of the house as mysterious as it were that he would leave like that. Like he was in a daze of thoughts. Only minets alter he stood infront of Verias door... but he was hesitating to knock. COuld he bother to even put his problem out there. Veria surly knew things he didn't before.... and it was up her ally... but still he hesitated to knock and turned aorund finding veria standing there with her hands on her hips, "I tell you what, for a demon hunter you sure don't notice when theres a demon behind you well." She shook her head, "Whats up shortstraw you look puzzled." He nodded, "I have a problem..." She nodded, "You have many problems. Which one in perticular, is it my sister?" He shook his head, "No it's me. Veria i'm not strong enough. Ever foe i've faced i could ever hardly get in a hit. How can i be usful if i can't seem to be helpful in a situation." SHe smiled and hugged him, "It's okay shortstraw, it will come when you need it most." She nodded. But he wasn't convinced, "If so then why hadn't it. I should have been able to unlock the first levle of my hunters emblem... like the others... then i could at least take more hits and do more damige... it would be a start but i fail each time." Veria stepped back and made a face as in thought. "Do you have any clues?" He nodded, "Thats why i came to ask you. Is there any chance that a demon hunter needs all of there soul?" She shook her head sadly, "I'm afrade i'm the oppiset from you love, you would have to ask my dad that kind of stuff." He nodded, "oh okay." He started to walk past as he noticed somthing agian he shouldn't have. He looked back as veria walked into her bedroom. Something was diffrent on her too... her butt seemed bigger. He shook his head and slapped himself, "Damn it stop thinking like that shortstraw!" He stepped down stares, however instead of going to yuji, he left.*

Kiera was sitting on the kitchen table, eating an apple. Although the only other person in the room was Cyril, it wasn't exactly the most welcoming of atmospheres. It had turned out to be a really nice day, and the fact that Kiera wasn't wearing much, and no, even worse, was that she looked blissfully unaware of the fact that she was, was painfully annoying. He was putting away the days haul, trying not to make a point of the fact that he was avoiding looking at her in all aspects. But he took another peek in the end, only to be drawn to Kiera's arms. They were flecky, like she had a rash. "Uh, Ki." She turned her head to him, not liking that her thoughts were interrupted by this numskull. "What?" She said crudely. Cyril pointed to her arm, and as she looked down, she covered it with her hand quickly only to discover it was the same on the other arm. She looked to her legs, there too. "s**t." She started, dropping her apple and getting up off the table. "s**t s**t s**t s**t s**t." She chanted as she ran out of the room an up the stairs. Through closer inspection in the mirror, she found that these flecks had surfaced all over her body, bar only a few on her face, and resembled scars. It was time to wear a lot of clothing, it seemed.

*Shortstraw was suddenly stopped as yuji walked into the yard with Hikari with groserys again. "Hey shortstraw. Everything alright. You look clum." As yuji handed the bags to Hikari and she went inside Shortstraw shook his head, "I'm not sure. I think... i can't fully be what i am suppost to be, now what i want to be becuse of a choice i made. But i rather not talk about it." Yuji nodded, "i understand we all have those times. Hows Keria?" Shortstraw smiled, "She's... doing alright." Yuji smerked, "I heard you made her a birthday party and for the first time it went all the way through." Shortstraw nodded, "yea wasn't really that hard. I just talked to her about it and set it up for her. She really enjoyed it i think." Yuji chukked, "Good. I sent her a card... but i don't know where it was sent. So... i dought she's going to get i now." He shrugged, "I guess she wouldn't have wanted me there anyways. I mean teens don't perticully like there parents over there shoulders, nor at partys with them." He laughed, "well i'll see you later. You probely headed home huh?" Shortstraw nodded, "Yea... something like that." He winked as yuji said his goodbyes. Shortstraw then mossed his way slowly to the marshes. The day was already comeing to a close, and he had a feeling keria would have forgotten about meetin ghim anywhere. she after all was lazy, and without him there to push her up, she would probably sleep all day.

Through all of the rest of the afternoon, Kiera was upstairs, picking off the scars that covered her arms and legs. However the ones on her neck wouldn't fade. She knew in the end why that was the greatest problem. However she didn't know why she was suddenly getting all her batttlescars. Then it occurred to her that since she lost her regeneration ability, she suddenly was faced with all the scars from fights that should have settled into her skin but instead was kept away under this perfect rejuvenation skin. For the most part, the scars on her arms and legs and face were gone, now. Thankfully. She might have had to wear long sleeved shirts for months otherwise. However the ones on her neck and palms just wouldn't fade. She put on her old scarf that she always used to wear. For now that would hide that. And at night she would just use all her hair to hide it. It would be fine. She got the confidence to go back downstairs, mind, still wearing the warm weather clothing, which made Cyril almost have a heart attack when she walked into the room with Asher and Mai. However it did look a little odd with the scarf combination. He turned back to the counter, stopping his face burning up. "I can heat up some food if ya' want Ki. I figured y'were asleep." Kiera sat down at the table and pressed her forehead against the top. "No thanks, Cyril. I'm fine." Asher looked to her oddly. "Why on earth are you wearing a scarf?" Mai yapped in agreement.

*Shortstraw slowly was heard walking in. However again he was thinking to hard he walked right past the kitchen and up the stairs. he then entered the room and went into the bathroom to take a shower. Not just a shower however, he sat under the warm water for alomst two hours, just thinking before the water started to get cold and snapped out of it.*

Cyril then nodded where Shortstraw went. "S'up with him?" Kiera shrugged, still with her head against the table. Asher repeated her question. "Since you so amazingly avoided my question. Might I ask again why you're wearing a scarf?" Kiera slammed her head against the table. "I don't know. Because I'm ******** cold?" Asher laughed a little. "Well wearing as little as you are, i'm not surprised. You might want to cover up your goods a little more though, love. If you want to get warm, that is." Kiera shot Asher the dirtiest look, and Cyril stood between them both. "Why anybody would wanna live in a 'ouse fulla girls. I wanna know." Asher sneered. "I don't know. Because girls?" Cyril also shot Asher a look. "Naw you're just bein' provocative." Asher licked her teeth. "Now you're all just being grumpy sods." Asher stood up proudly and hopped off the table, strutting into the living room in a proper cat fashion. Cyril sighed. "Wha's up with 'eryone today?" Kiera put her head back against the table. "Teenage hormones. I dunno."

*Shortstraw came out of the room soon with the new clothing Veria had givin hims when he first got back. It was the cleanest thing he had right now. He stepped down the stairs and saw asher. "Hey." He gave a wave and walked intot he kitchen, "I'm back... well been back... i never actully knew i was back untill like ten minets ago." he chukkled and gave a wide brow, "Wow thats the most i've ever seen you where Keria." He then blushed and quickly covered up his mistake, "I mean, generly not that it matters or anything... i mean..." He looked to cyril for help, the desided to take a breath, He then spoke clearly without the blushing as he sat down. "I wish Eve was around right now." He leaned his head o his hands, "She would know what i could do. Or at least help me figure it out. I've been thinking so hard today and still havn't came to terms with myself." He shied, "And we never did hunt that marry person down either. She's going to come back soon most likely.*

Cyril yawned a little as he turned to sit on the counter, just as Kiera always would. Legs crossed, hands keeping him up. "Can't Mai jus' scare 'er away again?" Kiera slammed her head against the table rhythmically. "He can't keep doing that. He'll get hurt." Cyril sighed. "Then next time she comes, we'll.." Kiera lifted her head and raised an eyebrow at him, expectantly. "We'll--?" Cyril panicked. "I dunno. You're tha' one who deals with this kinda stuff." Kiera shook her head and put it back on the table. Cyril failed this time. "Wha's your problem, Shorty?" Cyril looked to Shortstraw for a conversation next. Kiera clearly wasn't going to be of much social help.

*Shrotstraw shrugged, "Personal really. Though it does deal with our enemy aswell." He shied and gave a nod, "perhaps we should have someone else take care of her for us, this way she is cought off gaurd." He looked to keria for the final say, "We do have a whole town and castle of yokai behind us you know. All they need is for us to ask them to take care of it." he chukkled, "I know it it was Eve in this situation, she would take care of any problem herself. She's cool like that, she faces any problem head on and never backs down." He nodded, "I think it would deffently be helpful at least to have someone on our side help us. I mean, sinc eyou don't want to bring veria into this... though she wasn't looking well today anyways, well you know what i mean. Yay or nay?"

Kiera stood up and grabbed the trails of her scarf, walking stubbornly out of the room. "I'm going for a walk." Cyril raised his eyebrows at her. "We're in tha' middle of a convo, Ki." She obviously didn't care, as she was out of the door and into the marshes in seconds. Cyril looked out of the window. It was almost dark, he shuddered just thinking about how cold it was outside. Although of course she wouldn't feel it. Cyril looked back to Shortstraw apologetically, scratching the back of his neck. "If she weren't like this, I'd have thought she'd be awlright with what you said. Not that I thought she were listenin' anyways." He shrugged. "I dun' really trust her out thar' by 'erself, though."

*He shied and looked out the window* "Sadly thats one thing she never gets, she's never alone." He looked to Asher, "think i should chase after her or will she get mad." He shied, "Doesnt' really matter does it. He shied, "Well back outside i guess." He however was moving slowly. He wasn't going to bug her. Just be nearby just in case.*

Kiera stopped by the lake, sat there on the bank. Eventually she looked around herself and sighed. "Get the ******** out here. You're not fooling anyone." For a second it was almost like she was talking to Shortstraw. But then Mary's figure came to light on the other side of the small lake. Kiera eyed her up cautiously before yawning. "Wha'doyouwant?" Mary pulled a face. "You know very well-" Kiera flapped her hand around dismissively before Mary could finish her sentence. "Yeah, yeah. I know your bloody master or papa for whatever wants me for his collection. But you also know that I'm not going to leave myself unguarded from now on. Why are you here? Don't tempt me to kill you." Mary cocked her head slightly, as if she were almost confused by Kiera's behavior. Although Kiera shot her a look. Mary still didn't seem to get the message, though. "Kiera..?" Kiera stood up, fires a'blazing. "You're tempting me to kill you." Mary was still confused, and got closer to Kiera. They were almost a foot away from each other now, and Kiera put something into Mary's hand, mouthed something to her, before Mary disappeared into the trees. Kiera sat down again, heat dying down. Glad the moment was over. She was muttering curses to herself as she gathered her knees up to her chest.

*Shortstraw was confussed as he watched. he then slowly stepped into view becuse he felt like had done somthing wrong. "Keria... what was that..." he replied sadly, "Theres more to this isn't there..." He wasn't yelling or anything he was talkign softly... was a part of keria still gone? Was she working with them in a small sense now? He knew somthing wasn't right, but he wasn't sure if it was becuse of before, or if she actully was involved in some way. However he didn't get to close, he didn't want to make her feel angry at him. He looked to the gorund and held his arm, "I wasn't trying to spy on you, but i sorta feel like i did when I saw that..." He edmitted.

Kiera didn't move her gaze, just dug her head further into her knees. "Yeah. I knew you were there." She yawned. "I was just scaring her off." She was quick to change the subject anyway. "Why did you follow me anyway? I just wanted to walk for a bit. The... night air sometimes helps me think." Not that she usually had trouble thinking anyway, but that was just all relevant to her quarter-soul situation she had.
