What? Rules? No one said there was gonna be any rules! domokun

Okay. Here's the list of duties that I sent around to some new people (most of which didn't stick around). Araia will have seen it. ^^ And it goes like this:

Generally, we staffies disregard our so-called 'Positions' and simply help where we can. Among the things we do are:

-Reporting news for the Neighborhood Watch. This is actually a very easy task. You can take things directly from the Announcements, or give a short line about a good thread you found. My favorite place would be the Site Feedback section, which gives previews of long term projects and other such things.

-Voting for Best of the Issue and other things. Every issue, as you know, we have a Best of the Issue (BOI). The winner is awarded 500g. This is always voted on by the staffies. If we have no staffies around to vote, then we're at a loss. Thus far, it has not happened yet. In the future, there may be other things to vote on also.

-Giving opinions and ideas. Often times we have discussions in the Headquarter's thread, where we generate ideas and suggestions. Every new mind to help think these things over is an asset. Currently, we're discussing the idea of sending the issue to those who don't want to dig for it. This would, however, come with a fee, and we would still continue to distribute the magazine freely in the main forum of the WF. What do you think?

-General editing. Watch for mistakes in the issue as well as in our submissions. We want good quality work.

-Keeping track of our threads outside the guild. Our submissions thread has a tendency to sink. Keep an eye on it and post something now and then to keep it afloat. Not necessarily "BUMP," just a comment. There may also be questions that need answering.

-Critiquing in the Mounds. You don't have to critique anything, but someone should. You don't even have to do it all at once or as it comes in. Just every now and then, critique one or two things. Lastly, it's okay to add something of your own to the Mounds, but please, don't make a mound of you own.

-Occasional judging. Our contest, which no longer requires us so much as our readers, needed some of our staffies to judge. It was fairly easy, but more judges would have been preferable. You won't have to, but it would help a lot in the future.

-Decide your literary contribution to the 'zine. Again, you don't have to add something to each issue, or any issue at all. You can work behind the scenes if you wish. But adding something can not only be fun, it adds to the experience of running a magazine! You can make your own column, providing you have the writing ability to. You can run a project, like my Seven Sins project or Jaho's upcoming Political Writing Project. Or even a small segment to help other writers in their pursuits. There's a long list of possibilities, so why not explore them?

And that just about concludes your duties to the 'zine, should you still wish to help us. There are probably a few more I've left out, but surely nothing major.

Can I add that lovely list to the first post of HQ, Serieve? We can just send newbies over there from now on, instead of explaining ourselves over and over and over again... whee

Just noticed that we don't have any poetry whatsoever in this issue! That's definitely a first, lol. So what are we gonna do about this, scouts? *cracks whip* Whee! Off you go, little ones. 3nodding

Why of course, alicemae. ^^

What?! Another one? O.o Who would like to bet with me about how many of them will stick around? I'd say... 2 of them, tops. Out of both the current ones and the future ones. biggrin

Now do yourselves a favor and prove me wrong!

Would that be all right even if my first writing will be in the September issue?

Yeah, we also need to make you a banner image for it, so that will give us time.

Is the issue only published in this guild or is it also published to the public. Beacuse maybe we should start publishing our issues on the Writer's forum so the public may see it and we could bring in more people to work or write articles for the issues!

Just a tought!
