And we kinda fell for each other. ❞- While she didn't lie about falling. she was just vague enough about the nature of the word to tease her sister.

Apparently this caught Melani off guard as she started mumbling and becoming nervous before jumping in denial.

Eheh... Now, now... Illo didn't know how to handle a situation like this, as one could imagine from a celibate, isolated monk like him. He tried to squirm free without Misty noticing, but that would most likely prove impossible as she seemed intent on making Melani wildly jealous and would not let go.
So... You came to work after all. Illo was trying to shift conversation away from the family feud. He looked more sweaty now than he had on the sparring grounds.

Uh... No? Illo was really in for it now. If he was smart he would have just teleported away, but this was never his strong suit.
I mean, we didn't fall for each other... We just sparred. Now he was more nervous than ever. It certainly wouldn't make him sound convincing. Not to mention the number of sharp objects around would make it easier to threaten the monk.

Between the rants and comments something triggered. The demon's soul she had ingested had set a start of Eva's warning. For a brief moment a golden glimpse would glitter on her eyes before her ranting flustered face would regain its normal color, and a sweet voice escape those pinkish lips her hers with deathly tenderness. -❝ Oh but am I not the nurse's assistant sempai? ❞- Even the protective field had shaken at the sudden change, indicating a significant change in the redhead's soul frequency. -❝ Please, let me do my job. Melani... Be good. The monk sounded stern. He could tell there was something wrong with the way her soul wavelength felt. It was much more sinister now. He stepped in to grab Melani by the wrist.
If you have this much energy, perhaps you should have worked out with us. He didn't want to have to hurt his weapon.

Illo waited for a moment. He had grown tired of reigning in Melani. After the scream he knew there was a bit more going on here than a simple sibling rivalry. Illo decided to think this one through rationally, instead of pummeling his weapon.
Why is she acting this way? What was it that soulless woman said--something about awakening and the demon soul... That isn't too hard to imagine. Her wavelength is closer to that cave demon we slayed's energy now. This is the first time that's happened... But how do I stop it? Illo had resigned himself to meditating in the middle of the air, legs and arms folded, to find the answer. It's too late for her to be working... So why is she here? If she came here to torture Misty, then her aura would have been the same all along. But that's not it; she was different when she came here, normal. Agh, this doesn't make any sense! If she was able to hide her aura's true nature, I would have sensed it by now, and if she really was normal when she got here, then something must have set her off... Or someone! That's it!
Illo turned to the curtain where muffled screams and other horrific sounds could be heard. He teleported over behind Melani and did not wait to see the damage that had been done before teleporting away again, this time out of the room.

From nothing, Illo appeared in the middle of the room where Melani and Misty could presumably still be found wrestling, if you want to call Misty's struggle wrestling that is.

Apparently the infernal torture she went through was none other than the joint massage Melani had learned from Nariaki and Illo during their training. A rookie that is not used to take care of her body would feel unbearable pain the first times while the joints and muscles are used to the routine. So, having being a rookie, she knew very well about this. And Since Illo knew about the massage but was already used to it. There would be no way he would have figured she used the massage as her weapon of choice to exact her vengeance against Misty. -❝ Just leave the lunchbox there and she can have it when she wakes up. ❞-
