As the two of them left the room of beasts, Kareru wondered to herself what other types of demons were at the outpost. Under Ramella's navigation, they avoided the fire on the way to the training grounds. Heat never was a vice she was fond of. Although, at the sight of the creature already there, Kareru narrowed her eyes.

"Friend of yours?" she asked curiously. Judging from the way Ramella reacted, she doubted it, but couldn't be too careful. There is fallen angels after all.

User Image Wandering the barren night roads in search of the next town to visit, Banrai gave a wide yawn as he blinked his eyes. He is a rather tall man dressed in clothes similar to those of samurai and ronin. Although, his most noticeable feature, more than likely, would be the large, spiked, iron club he had resting against his shoulder while holding the bandaged hilt with his right hand. Carrying it by one hand without any signs of being a burden gave testament to his youkai nature of an oni. Of course, having horns protruding from one's head was a rather obvious inclination as well.

Normally, those of his kind would stick to the mountainous regions. However, Banrai encountered a rather interesting ronin in the past. From talking with this peculiar man, Banrai started to yearn for the life of travel. Once he set out, the oni never regretted his decision. The mountains felt like such a small place after traveling as he did.

Up ahead, flickers of light caught his eye. Upon further inspection, it seemed a town was celebrating for who knows what. He learned long ago that humans partied as much as oni's do on occasion. As soon as he entered the village, he could see the tension rise amongst the people. It was only natural with him being a youkai. Though, one female in a kimono seemed perfectly relaxed. Banrai found such behavior around a youkai as odd. Without letting it bother him, he took a sake dish from a table and poured a gracious amount into the dish. Raising the dish to the villagers as a toast, the oni took a sip before sitting down at one of the benches.

Seeing that Aeis would be civil, her arm moved away from her chest and the fear in her eyes faded mostly before returning the bow though for her it was a curtsy. Seeing his smile, Milly took a deep breath and exhaled before throwing out her plea. Luckily or unfortunately ,depending upon your perspective, she hadn't been looking into his subconscious thoughts or feelings at the time or she would have blushed from him saying she was beautiful.

"M-Milliana Aremis, nice to meet you. Please forgive me for following them, I meant no harm. I just wanted to speak with an angel and perhaps join your side if you would allow it. I...I'm...I'm not like the rest of my kind!" she replied, her voice raising in volume near the end practically yelling the last sentence.

Kureiko nearly had a villager in her grasp that would follow her away from everyone else so she could devour his soul when she started seeing everyone pretty much freeze what they were doing as they stared to the east. Following their stares, the little demoness saw what caused their fear. A tall oni had walked into the village. However, Kureiko's reaction was quite the opposite of the villagers. A smile spread across her lips as she thought of the ways to exploit this occurrence.

With the oni raising a toast to the villagers, she could see the tension lessen. Although, that certainly wouldn't do. She needed them to be friendly and pay more attention to him.

A devilish grin grew in her mind.
'The sooner they pay attention to him, the sooner I will get my meal.'

Kureiko walked over to the oni and put on her human act once again offering some food to the oni. To a human, she would look to be in either her late teenage years or early twenties.

"Would you like something to eat great oni of the mountains?"
spoke Kureiko with a velvety voice.

Before Ramella could reply, the 'angel' spoke,
'I'll give you the benefit of the doubt this time but next time I will take it as a personal insult.' The voice was incredibly rough, brittle and harsh but powerful at the same time. The 'angel' turned towards them unleashing the full power of her dark amber eyes. Ramella felt confused, she hadn't felt anyone breach her mind.
'There's no need to. Your emotions and thoughts are as clear as glass on your face.' Ramella blushed and relaxed slightly but not completely. She noticed how the womans armour seem to grow off her and that she welded a large, metal hammer.
'I am Rhunon, the world's finest smithwoman.'

To see the one that seemed to hold no fear of demons walk up to him, it put Banrai on guard slightly. That smile of hers taunting him to figure out its meaning. His mind swimming wildly as the mass of thoughts threatened to drown it twice over. No human had ever greeted him with such indifference to species.

'Is she ignorant of youkais?' Such a thought was blasphemous. Any parent or even elder would eagerly explain the dangers of a demon. Sure, the oni had seen smiles addressed to him in the past at a first encounter. However, each held their own secret meaning that seemed to show through their eyes. Yet, he couldn't find such a meaning from this girl. It disturbed him to no end. Her crimson orbs being a vast pool that he couldn't possibly cross.

Minutes passed as he stared at Kureiko, his mental war coming to its conclusion. The villagers began to fear for the girl's safety as the silence dragged on. Though, Banrai submitted to the small offering and took the food she graciously presented him.

"Thank you," he managed to say in his thunderous voice. Though warily, the villagers seemed more at ease going back to their mindless banter.

"Ooh, scary...world's finest is rather presumptious isn't it?" Kareru said teasing slightly as she smiled towards the 'angel', her eyes still narrowed in her gaze. Though she enjoyed doing so, she decided against any further teasing of the one before her. The look the smith was giving them getting her excited.

"Either way, it's a pleasure to meet you, Smith Rhunon. I am Kareru. If I may inquire, why are you here in the training grounds? Testing a weapon perhaps?" asked the plant woman as the various branch like limbs that made up her hair swayed gently. Being one of mother nature's creations, she was always fascinated at the creations of others.

'It is no presumption.' Rhunon answered but her eyes twinkled with slight amusement.
'But I am not testing a weapon. I'm looking for a rare blue phoenix diamond. One was spotted near these grounds. I will need as much of it as possible to create a sword for Ophelia.' Ramella was surprised that Rhunon could just name the hell general by her first name and be completely casual about it. Everyone else Ramella knew and saw called the general by her majesty, great mistress and even more enchanting names.

"Aw..." Kareru pouted at not getting to see her testing out a new weapon. She always wanted to do so. Though, the implications of saying Ophelia's name without a title brought her mind back around to believe the smith was close in a way to the empress of hell or perhaps standings meant nothing to her.

A twig like finger reached her lips as she gave a small sound as if in thought. "If it was spotted, why didn't the one that saw it go to retrieve it?" asked the plant lady. Even while asking the question though, her legs sank partially into the ground as her root like tentacles began to traverse underground around the area searching for anything that gave even the slightest pulse of magical power into the earth.

Rhunon almost chuckled when she saw the strange plant woman pout. I just might do a little demonstration for her since she's newshe thought to herself.
'That I thought was incredibly strange too. You have a quick mind.' Rhunon looked around the explanse of the training grounds. There were woody and stony areas to help with different area of combat. And a large clearing used for full-on combat.
'But the siren who told me this left quickly. And sadly I could not catch up to her. But I know it's here. I can almost feel it.' Rhunon murmured. Almost as if the breath was being dragged out of her. Rhunon was one of the oldest creatures on earth, and she could feel her life force ebbing away. Rhunon had lived for many a millenium. She was in no way immortal no matter how great her powers were.

Aeis scanned her face into his memory like he did with everyone he met and tagged the name to the picture in his thoughts as soon as she mentioned it. He listened closely and was shocked by the emotion in her plea. He motioned down with his hands.
"Calm down a little I'm sure I can figure something out."
Thinking, he put his hand to his chin and his other hand supported his elbow keeping it held up.
"Hmm... well no harm was dealt so that shouldn't be a problem. As for your request to join..."
He sighed shrugging.
"It's not up to me, the person it is up to is out right now... but I guess we could go through the military directly. In any case I can't just leave you here wandering around. Can you hover higher, or...?"
He flapped his wings once and waited. He hadn't flown someone in some time.

Hearing him say calm down, Milliana face flushed with warmth at realizing she had yelled like that. However, she pushed her thoughts away to listen to what else he could explain to her regarding the situation. It would seem there was indeed hope for her yet.

Giving a nod to his question about flight, ice crystals began forming around her from the air until a miniature snowstorm encased her lower half allowing her to rise and match Aeis' position.

"Through the essence of winter, I can control weather in a sense." explained Milliana.

The darkened halls of the outpost had been quiet. Outside where the main training grounds remained active as for weeks the demon armies were readying assortments of battle gear and siege weapons. The infamous mistress of the powerful war machine had been viewed as dormant. Much to the surprise as powerful she was, it was difficult for her to remain with energy after summoning so many arcane buildings at once as she purged the lengthy area with the taint of Hell’s essence. Under strict instructions, the demonic subordinates were not allowed anywhere near Ophelia’s chambers as she slept to recover great energy that was spent on building the front. However, the time came where her presence would be felt again. A small shift in the air would be felt as the gigantic steel doors that was her chambers opened and the glistening demoness walked out of the long area with a replenished yet dark aura. Along with her emergence an apparent makeover was made with her slumber.

Suddenly a young demon boy servant came running around the corner from the halls in a dashing hurry not watching where he was going and run right into her. His world went dark dark as he was confused as to where he went to. Ophelia gently pulled him away from her bosom and looked down smiling a little and raising an eye brow.

“ boy, what is your hurry?”

He looked her up and down. She could not tell wether he was frightened, surprised or embarrassed.

“ mm…miss…your awake?”

He continued to stutter as Ophelia smiled and walked past him. She spoke and walked with eagerness. “ yes im sure you were in a hurry to welcome me back, I thank you. Let my officers know iv returned…

She would head over to the balcony to watch as things transpired over her grounds.

The demon boy walked away not drawing attention to himself breathing heavily whilst been thankful he was still alive.

She stared off. " I wonder how soon it will be until we should strike..."

Seeing the weather shift, Aeis backed up a step confused until he saw the result. He was surprised at the method of flight she had and wondering how fast it would be.
"That's quite an amazing skill. Well I guess follow me."
He began to fly toward the direction of Heaven.
"Erm just so you know if you attempt to run at some point from here on you'll be treated as a spy and I'll be forced to capture you. Its a time of war so the location of heaven needs to be kept secret and it wouldn't be good for the one at fault. There are many with prejudice against demons so be careful. Though angelic, they will use any excuse they can. Don see it as them being mean, its just easier for them to go against change to protect what they know... heh flying up is so much more work then flying down. So now that the warning is out of the way any specific reason your wanting to join Heaven besides your pure as snow appearance?"
In an attempt to be polite he turned around to look toward her and fly backwards but it didn't go well so he instead flew beside her a happy smile adorning his face.

'Just take the damn food you big oaf!' the demoness mentally hissed as keeping her cool in this situation was starting to become taxing for her. She had not eaten in some time, and the pains of hunger were settling in.

Not long after these thoughts, the oni took her offering allowing the tension to ebb.
"No, no...it is you I should thank great oni of the mountains," replied Kureiko as she turned away from Banrai, eager to reenact her plans.

Mingling once again with the crowd, her presence once again began to recede with the oni taking the stage of the limelight, allowing her more free movement. It was a good thing too, she was on the brink of starving...

Luring a young man with her into the shadows with untold promises, it wasn't long before they were alone. It would seem the boy grew an attachment to her with standing up to an oni without being afraid. Such a gullible brat.

A rosy tint cascaded along her cheeks as she gazed into the boy's eyes with longing. Slowly, they moved closer to one another....it was all too easy. Their lips locked, further fulfilling the boy's fantasies making his soul all the more delectable. She kept to her part in her self created play, enjoying every minute of it. Seconds passed turning to minutes of contact with him. It wasn't long before he was in a haze of lust uncaring of the creeping death encircling him. Her true nature emerged as her tongue extended far longer than that of a normal human's wrapping around the male's throat. Chocked gasps was his reply, as emotions flooded his face. Confusion, sorrow, anger, regret, suffering....she loved them all. Her crimson eyes keeping eye contact as she plunged her sharpened nails into his arm renewing his choking pain.

Slowly, she could feel his soul blackening with all the hateful and malevolent thoughts entering his mind in regards to her. It was souls like these that she desired most.

"Don't feel too bad...just curse your luck for being born a human." spoke Kureiko in a ghastly way as ghostly wisps of a bluish fire emerged from around the demoness enveloping the body of the man. With his body enveloped in her ghost fire, her tongue dragged the soul away from the physical body. Once complete, she retracted her tongue along with the soul back into her mouth.

"A little underdeveloped, but it will certainly do." said Kureiko with a grin as she left the grizzly scene to rejoin the festivities licking the blood from her fingers. After all, now she had a lovely oni for a scapegoat.
