o_< Her sister would have to be an idiot to be seduced by someone this innocent and naive, so she figured him as harmless and someone she might as well greet. Besides. He could have some dirt on the rat b*****d that ran this island and wasn't coming to see her sister as much as she thought he should. Like every other minute.
"I'm Sydney. Syrenrei's sister. I'm helping her look after Delta when she's working."
Delta didn't even hesitate a moment as she extended her neck, bending it away from Kiro so he could reach some of the best places to scratch. Yes, worshipping was good. And scratching her was obviously a form of worship.

Smiling at Delta, Kiro obediently reached forward to scratch the areas Delta seemed to be indicating.
He then turned his gaze back to Sydney. She didn't seem anything like Sy. She was a little more confident than that. Not, of course, that this was at all a bad thing. It was just... curious he supposed.
He nodded. "It's nice that you'd be willing to do that for her," he said, continuing to scratch Delta as he did so. "She always seems to be coming and going, pretty hectic living away from where you work I guess."
He felt an ear twitch again. Why did he get the feeling he was supplying the majority of the conversation? That certainly wasn't something he was used to, he realised quietly.

"Uh huh." It was just helping a sister, which she didn't really see as big a deal as Kiro might. Besides, she had other things on her mind, especially with her sister at home and in heat. Like this man running the island. With one so innocent, she decided she might need to employ some more tact when asking about him.
"You know the guy running this island? The one banging my sister?" Okay, well, not so much tact as supplemental information. Same difference, really.

"The... uhh...?"
Oh yes. His right ear seemed to have gone into a spasm of twitching. Great. And he could feel the blush shooting across his cheeks, no doubt Sydney could see it, and no doubt at all in the fact it must look very amusing.
He raised a fist to clear his throat quietly before looking up again. "Alyosha's in charge of the project... And I know him, yes..."
Damn twitching...

Sydney observed his discenable embarassment, but of course couldn't just stop there. I mean, he knew the man and it was simply her duty as a younger-sister-who-acted-like-the-big-sister to check this guy out. Even if had a nervous, twitching, childlike teen in front of her. It was sort of like shitting out in the wild- you worked with what you had.
"So. Tell me about him."
Delta was of course oblivious to the topic and decided that she wanted to get off the dirty ground... which meant she was trying to crawl onto Kiro clumsily in order to avoid the outdoors' friendly filthiness.

"Tell you about him...?"
Frowning a little in discomfort at Sydney's questions, Kiro busied himself with Delta's attempts to get off the dirty ground, actually kneeling on the floor to give her lap-space should she desire it.
"What do you want to know...?" came the curious question. From her tone, he didn't suppose she thought Alyosha was someone to be favoured...

She considered this question carefully as Delta gleefully stepped onto Kiro's lap. Yes, now this was the royal treatment she deserved. Carefully settling herself down, she extended her wings and carefully set them over his legs so she looked as purdy as possible with all her lovely feathers in view. Oh yes. A little bumpy, but a vast improvement over the disgusting ground. ^_^
"What is he, what does he look like, what does he do, etc." She crossed her arms over her chest in thought. "Frankly, I don't trust anyone my sister ends up fawning over. More often than not they are scum."
Well, at least she was honest.

Gently, Kiro petted Delta as he thought Sydney's question quietly. The urge to blurt He's not scum! was amazingly strong, but decisively squished.
"He's..." said Kiro slowly after some thought, "a good person. He brings people together with new children, new siblings." He continued stroking Delta with a slight smile, and thought of the jar that was still in his bag. "He's not scum, not one bit."
He didn't look up when he finished speaking, but just continued stroking Delta quietly.

Right. She sighed at Kiro's innocent-sounding words, not really holding too much faith in them. He was so young... of course he didn't see the evil in others. Or maybe she was just being overly cynical. Either way, it was clear this lad wouldn't give her an objective view on Alyosha. Probably some sickenly sweet praises, if anything.
"Delta." Delta looked at Sydney with another glare. No way she was moving. She was content, and she wasn't letting some old hag move her. She... she NEEDED this attention and pampering. Yes. It was VITAL.

Kiro frowned a little, turning his - still embarassed - gaze up to Sydney. She didn't seem to have a lot of faith in what he'd just said, the expression on her face told him as much. He sighed gently. Maybe she was just looking for a reason to dislike Alyosha? It was a shame, but it seemed entirely likely.
He slowed his petting of Delta as Sydney spoke, able to sense Delta's reluctance to move. He wondered what Sydney was going to do if Delta didn't.

"DELTA." Delta was still glaring at Sydney indignantly. "Get up or I'll muss up all your feathers. And your fur."
Delta jumped up, startled by the horrific idea. Oh, this was a base woman who was just... without morals. Mortified she jumped from Kiro's lap and started running home rather ungracefully, for fear that Sydney would add water to that threat.
Nodding and giving a slight bow, Sydney wandered after the small gryphon with a slightly triumphant smile. Now that she had moved in, Delta was no longer in charge/ twisted

Dusting off his pants, Kiro stood and watched the two retreat. In all honesty, he wasn't sure he liked Sydney too much, which of course he'd never say aloud to anyone. He frowned a little in mild indecision, before continuing their walk in a different direction than the one Sydney and Delta had taken.

A cigarette dangled from Inle's fingers as she followed Paur, her unwilling guide, through the settlement. Inle's earlier words still rang in his ears, and his wing still hurt from where she yanked the feathers out of it. The angry, haughty boy was gone, replaced by someone who looked more like a kicked puppy dog than a little child.
Inle didn't seem to care that she had wounded the Tahnee both physically, mentally, and emotionally. The little b*****d had it coming, as far as she was concerned. All she cared about was getting Marli back, and she hoped against hope that she would find the tiny gryphon alive and unharmed. She took a drag off her cigarette, relishing the taste: it was a habit she had all but quit since she had started living with children, but she thought this particular occassion warranted its temporary renewal.

Nyxa and Luc were on their way back home from their recent, accidental playdate with Kami and Keanu when she caught sight of a more than slightly pissed Inle following a small, upset-looking little boy. She called out to her friend, and Luc's interest was perked, too, despite his tiredness.
"Inle! Where are you two off to?" She looked like a woman with a mission, and Nyxa was hesitant in asking. Luc wasn't so wary, though, and after peering around for Marli, he made his way closer to Inle, a soft questioning sound coming from him, "Mmarleeeh?"

Inle's head turned towards the source of the voice, and she eventually slowed to a stop. Paur stopped as well, eyeing the other two with a pleading expression. Perhaps these two would save him from the evil, raving psychobitch that was currently Inle? Slowly, silently, he extended his injured wing, as if to convey to them that he needed their help.
Inle forced a tight smile to her face as she nodded to her longtime friend. "We're off to find my little science project, because this dumbass--" here she gestured at the Tahnee with her cigarette "--decided that he was going to get rid of her, his way." She didn't seem to notice what Paur was doing, as the wisp caught her attention. Her pointing now directed itself at the Luc-wisp as she asked, "Dare I ask what the hell that is?"
