After he left, Shilo shifted and moved the blocks around with her nose. When she felt it was alright she moved back to where she was before and shifted back.
Moya smiled and tilted her head to the side. "She does, does she?" She grabbed Nik's hand and went into Shilo's room, looking down at the blocks. She covered her mouth with both hands and looked at Nik. "Did she do that on her own?"
'Lookie what I can do Mommy.' was what it said on the floor at Shilo's feet. She giggled and clapped her little hands.

Well that wasn't exactly what had been there when he left, but that was it. "Yes, she did that on her own. I made a pyramid, she took it down and wrote out what she wanted. Child is smarter than most fifth graders from what I see." Now he was hoping that Moya wouldn't fall into a moment seeing this. They didn't need to see her cry or get upset again.

Moya looked down at Shilo and then picked her up, bouncing a little as she walked, trying to figure out how to react by this. "Is this normal for your kind? Could others like you have their minds grow so fast yet be so small?" She knew Nik learned fast, but with Shilo it didn't feel right.
Shilo looked at her dad worriedly, more like she did something wrong more than anything else. She rested her head on her mom's chest, trying to make sure she wouldn't freak out.

Come on Moya, don't freak out. Not while you're holding her. Walking closer he stopped in front of Moya, holding her by the shoulders so she was looking at him. He also feared that at one point Shilo would get launched out of her arms. "Moya. Calm down. Yes, it is normal, it's normal for nearly every wolf child. But I can't keep comparing Shilo to me. While every child develops quickly mentally, they're also very different from eachother. I know it doesn't feel right, probably because she's your child and she's still a baby. But we can't stop it. All we can do is take care of her and help her grow." Granted, not speed up the process, but be there to help if she needed it.

Moya nodded and looked away from Nik a moment before looking back and nodding some more. "Alright. If you think its normal I guess I can handle it." She kissed Shilo's cheek and smiled at her. "Mommy will just have to learn how to adjust. I didn't know she was going to grow this fast though." She sat in the rocking chair with Shilo in her arms and rocked back and forth, still letting it all sink in.
Shilo looked up at her mom, still worried but not as much. She stayed as still as she could while in her arms, even though it was a bad idea. She slowly drifted to sleep while Moya rocked, curling up in her arms a little.

Watching them with a small smile Nik moved over to the window seat, propping one leg up and leaning against the molding. "You've gotta try to stop worrying, Moya. I know it's hard, but just try to relax, let me take care of everything. I'm not saying sit back and watch as I do it all, I know you'll jump in. Just let me worry about the big stuff and have fun with your daughter."

Moya nodded and looked down at Shilo, smoothing out her hair before standing up and putting her in her crib. Shilo's dress made a rustling noise while Moya put her to bed. She moved over and sat on the other end of the window seat, looking out of it. "It just scares me. I don't know anything about this so I'm scared." She looked over at Nik and sighed. "I'm sorry that I'm making you and Shilo worried, I just don't know what to do."

Yeah, he understood that part. A small smile escaped him as he pulled her towards him, wrapping his arms around her and stroking her hair lightly. "I know, Moya. I know....My dad died before I was actually old enough to understand anything about being a wolf. My mom was human, she didn't know anything about it even after being married to a wolf. But she took it all in stride. Even then, I know what it's like to not know. I just learned on my own."

Moya nodded a little and closed her eyes, relaxing in Nik's arms. "I'm sorry." She turned her head a little and kissed him softly, having a hard time resisting the want to nibble on his bottom lip.

When she kissed him a tremor of heat went through him, making him growl softly without meaning to. "You're way too good at that for someone so new to the trade." Smirking he kissed her deeply, beating her to the punch and scraping his teeth over her bottom lip, tugging lightly before kissing her again.

Moya smiled and kissed back. She noticed the crib and the sleeping Shilo in the corner of her eye so she stood up. "Not here." She grabbed his hands and lead him to the bedroom, forgetting everything at the moment.

He whined like the wolf he was but followed, not liking the sudden cautions no matter how much he liked being a father. And he was getting impatient. Scooping her up he carried her into the room, kissing her deeply as he laid her on the bed. Luckily they could hear Shilo through the baby monitor, but she couldn't hear them. That would be hard to deal with.

She kissed him back and then started doing butterfly kisses down his jaw line to his collarbone. She hid her face in his neck a moment, before starting to nibble at it.
