Christian nodded a little, and frowned. "I guess I'm lucky." He grinned up at him. "I only own a bookstore. Nothing big about that, really. Marten's probably up to his elbows in dirty work, though." He muttered, ruefully, and then snorted. "Poor old man."
Christian grinned a little, and looked up. "What do you do, anyway?" It wasn't meant to sound like a question one would ask at an interview, but... He couldn't help himself. Curiosity ftw.

Malen laughed " Yep can't see much trouble coming from running a bookstore" Well unless he was smuggling things in the books or if the books themselves were of high value or demand. Staring at some oddly shaped clouds he answered the other man's question. " I'm a bounty hunter, used to be humans and aliens and all sorts of things Now i chase mainly humans and those with just above human abilities. I decided after an unfortunate event that I could;t risk my life as much as i used to. I had children who depended on me coming home."
He paused them smiled wide " But I do so love the thrill of the hunt, of matching wits and skills against another" his grin became a bit feral and darker " and I like taking the scum of the planet down, making those who think they can escape justice think twice. Not on my watch they can't"

He listened to Malen explain what he did, and smiled a little, glancing over at him. ... The feral thing was hot. But he wasn't about to say that out loud. "Your kids' must really look up to you." He said finally, grinning a bit. "Not many people are courageous enough to give chase after the not-so-legal ******** of this world."
Christian watched him, and smiled a little, amused. "You're like a hero cop." He said, nodding slightly. He knew a couple of those, hero cops. Unfortunately, he knew them two minutes before Nico killed them. They really shouldn't've gotten in the way that once... Anyway.
Christian laid back, head back on Malen's shoulder, and looked up at the clouds.

"Mm Kishi appreciates it, she let me train her until she moved out. She won't follow in my footsteps but she respects me and what I do. Del was inspired by me and Gil well he doesn't seem to care but he dosen't really understand yet. Kay likes it as well. it's nice to have people depend on me to trust me." Trust was an addictive substance and Malen craved it. for all those he helped and protected their gratitudes and trust were better payment than any money. Not that Malen wasn't a material man.
He laughed a bit at the other comments " I'm no hero and it's not nessicarily courage that motivates me. I was well a right cocky p***k as a kid and it somehow lead to all of this. Sure I've learned and changed. but I still hunt just the causes I want based on my own criteria. I don;t go out of my way to be the perfect example of valour and chivalry I'm just there when i think i should be. More vigilante than cop really". Malen didn't want to give anyone the wrong impression of him like he had before with Ianna

He nodded a little, and grinned. "Vigilante." He mused, shaking his head. "Sounds hot." And he really did NOT mean to say that. He covered his face with his hand. "I'm shameless." He muttered, sheepishly.
"You're more exciting than I am." He said, snorting. "I own a bookshop, my father's Marten Saint, I have two sisters, and the only kid I've got is Dori. I didn't even go to college, so there aren't any wacky dorm stories." Which sort of sucked but... The price to pay for love, he supposed. "Graduated high school, at least." He snorted.
"And... that's the extent of one Christian Parker." He shrugged, not even thinking that if his father was Marten Saint, why wasn't he Christian Saint. It just never crossed his mind, really.

Malen snorted " You can shamlessly dig the next bullet I get hit with out of my hot self I promise." Oh hell Malen was no better then this virtual stranger. It had to be the closeness had to, or maybe becuase they both had ex's or something becuase Malen was never this open this laid back about life. there was of course another possibility, Given his freedom and sense of self back Malen was returning to the true him, the person he'd been before he me Ianna.
"Parker?" he inquired " Wacky college stories are out for me too though if Mari ever visit I'll invite you over to hear some of hers."

Christian blushed, and snorted laughter, covering his mouth and shaking his head. "I thought I was bad!" He grinned at him, amused. It felt nice to be at ease with someone who wasn't Nicodemus or his sisters, honestly. After Sean, he hadn't been so at ease with anyone who wasn't practically related.
Did this mean he was back on the market officially?
He blinked, as if the question didn't make sense, and then snorted. "I was adopted. The Saints took me in after the Fire." He explained, and grinned. "I'd love to hear some dorm stories from your sister." He snorted, amused. "I always wondered what it'd be like to have a dorm story to tell."

Malen let a smug look cross his lips, oh yes he was back back and truly himself again. " You have potential though, one day you might surpass me or at least meet me as an equal"
He nodded slowly as Chris talked. He couldn't imagine being adopted but the other man didn't seem to have been bothered by it. " It was nice that you kept your own last name. " Malen missed being able to use his own last name.

"I'll try." He promised, nodding seriously and then grinning at Malen. "Who knows, maybe the boys'll surpass both of us." He smirked at him.
He shrugged. "I was never actually adopted. I was twelve when the fire happened, and... I dunno. Christian Saint sounded weird to me. So, I stayed Christian Parker." He smiled at him, then shrugged. "S'not the best name, but... S'mine." He snorted. Even if it had a bit of history, it was his name.
"So!" He looked up, and smirked.

" Oh gods I hope not if Gil turns out like me I'll only have myself to blame. My mother's were both sane well mannered women, provided the Olympics weren't on. I still turned out the way I did but if Gil goes that way I have to count myself as a bad influence." Bah parenting was a complex thing.
Malen nodded " I can understand pride in a name and there's nothing wrong with yours. Besides Christian saint really would have been weird." Perhaps not so much on Gaia but to some it would seems odd and just a bit too funny not to tease the man about.
" So? hmm we could discuss i dunno our general thoughts on this whole Sylph business. Or you can suggest something, or i can get up and get us something to drink."

"It's... definitely a good name." He snorted. "Not for good people, though." He looked over and grinned a little.
"I don't think it'd be wise to drink." He had, of course, assumed it'd be alcoholic. Because when one said it, usually... At least to him... it meant alcohol. Then he shrugged.
"The Sylph thing is... pretty... different." He snorted. "But maybe it's just 'cause it's my first Gaian kid and, from what I've noticed... No kid on Gaia is ever really normal..." He snorted a bit.

" There are children in the house playing I was only offering juice or pop." There was a slight edge to Malen's voice. What kind of person did Christian think he was ? Perhaps he'd gone a bit too far with his explanation of himself.
" Different they are. I've got a succubus a part dolphin and child who puts everything in his mouth and requires me to live in residence. " Malen's tone had shifted to amused," Talon, oh ******** Talon's got a kid that came from a peice of glass she killed a bird with. a kid from a book she answered a question in , a kid that was once a bird,a kid she got from a box on the streets and " his brow furrowed as he concentrated " Another book kid and last i heard that's it."
Inside Gil was starting to get a bit bored so he simply fell back and stared at the ceiling " No more , can't catch no more." he was a bit embarrassed as well as tired of the game. He's reflex weren't that good and he fumbled the ball a lot. Dorian had done somewhat better than him but the Dragon's were smart and had soon learned the various ways the bow through and how fast they had to move.
" Wanna watch t.v?"

"...." Christian had, honestly, almost forgotten about the kids. They were so quiet inside. "...." He wasn't about to admit he'd forgot about his own kid. Sheesh. So he shrugged.
He stared at him, and a little part of him twitched. "Seriously?" He couldn't believe it. That many kids... Jeez! "I... would never be able to have that many kids." He blinked slowly. "Wow..."
Dorian wasn't getting bored by any means, because he was content with doing meaningless tasks. But, Gil was bored, so Dorian played along. He flopped back, and shrugged. "Sure, if you wanna. What's on?" He asked, getting up and rubbing his nose sheepishly.

Malen nodded " Tiwaz, Tode, Riycan, Andrea and Psy, three of them have wings, one has magical floating candle and the other's the bossiest little kid I ever met. I have no clue how she managed them all I have a hard enough time managing two at a time, I'm currently hoping the powers that be have me on their list of people too busy to handle another child."
Gil sprung to his feet and wobbled for a moment while he found his balance. " I dunno but there's always something on." he swiftly walked to the living room to search for the remote.
Fade remained behind sleeping on one the stolen balls.
Hazard lay on Dorian's head again making amused trills.

Christian shook his head, blinking owlishly. "I... would go insane. Jeez... She must be good with kids." He snorted, and rubbed his head, frowning.
Dorian nodded, and got up, careful of the dragon on his head. Let me tell you, only in Gaia can a dragon ride on a human's head. Yeesh. "Does he always do this?" He muttered, sheepish and a little confused. "Not the trills, laying on peoples' hair." He wasn't all that worried about his hair, though. It'd do it's thing, with or without Hazard lying in it.
