Ju was a very competitive mare, but the way that Biscuit was keeping it kind and light-hearted kept her from overdoing it, and she was being competitive in a friendly way. She grinned back at him and waded back into the water. As she passed him, she tossed her head and grinned at him.

"Well, you'll be eating your words soon enough, I'm afraid. It wasn't just beginners luck before."

She giggled as she reached a spot she liked, and became still again. She was about seven feet away from the shore as she watched the fish below her. When she spotted a good one, she reared back again, tossing the fish the highest that any of them had been yet, and accidentally flinging it back towards the shore. When it began its decent, it landed on the grassy banks instead of returning to the water. It laid there, flopping about in a desperate attempt to return to its watery home.

She grinned broadly and turned back to Biscuit.

"Well, can you beat that, sir?"

Before replying to the mare Biscuit quickly back stepped to the shore and nudged the fish towards the waters edge. While his thrusts were gentle, the fish required little more help as it hit the edge and flailed a little harder - it's final flail allowed it to tumble back in. A small splash caused Biscuit to snort disapprovingly at the fish, not entirely happy with it's lack of gratitude but there was little more he could do - fish never spoke to him anyway.

Now, back to the topic at hand.

Shaking his head to shake the droplets from his muzzle, he sauntered back in and fixed his gaze on the mare for quite some time. He really was doing his best to be courteous and to be good humoured about this but still that competitive streak was there. He couldn't very well let the mare take the one thing he was good it, it just wasn't fair! Puffing up his chest, he could do nothing more than allow the warm air to escape in a low whistle from his lips.

He was stuck, well and truly.

Sometimes, it is better to admit 'defeat', you know... The voice of his uncle reminded him from somewhere in the back of his mind and he returned his gaze to the mare who seemed positively delighted by her skill.

"I..." He pulled a face as though it hurt his pride to admit it (like any good stallion) and then shook his head with a bemused smile, the good natured expression returning to his features, "Nae, I nae be able te beat that M'lady Ju...I believe ye have no replaced me as Queen o' da lake, aye?" He offered at last, lowering himself slightly in a bow before canting his head to the side.

"Ye really are a natural, very gifted mare."

Ju was absolutely beaming. She had won! What was even more amazing to her was that she was completely new to this. Before today, she had never seen a fish, or even swam in the water. She was very proud of herself, and didn't hide it.

"Well, thank you very much for the compliment. Its nice to see that you're not a sore loser."

She giggled as she made her way back to the shore and exited the water. She shook herself off, causing her jewels to jingle loudly before she stopped. Her tail was still sopping wet, but it was so heavy that it would take a few hours before it was dry, and maybe even a day before it dried completely. She turned back to face Biscuit.

"Well, I thank you very much for your lessons today. I have really learned a lot."

She smiled a beautiful smile. Her mood had been quite stable since they had come down to the water. Water seemed to have that calming quality about it. She turned and looked around them. It was getting late, and now that she stopped to think about it, she was getting quite hungry.

"Again, thank you Biscuit. But now I must be leaving. I need to eat something, and I know of a nice apple tree near my home. Though you're very welcome to join me if you wish."

Water was a miracle, whatever possessed the spirits to make it was filled with pure win. Biscuit had decided this as the mare seemed to flourish in its presence. Praise even seemed to be taken in a much better light and she was much easier to be around...really, she was absolutely beautiful when she smiled. When she was in a good mood she seemed to have a rather exotic glow about her that could be captivating.

...Just a shame that she didn't realise it really.

Nevertheless she had a point about the time of day and the hunger pangs, it was with a bit of surprise that Biscuit came crashing to earth. He'd really kept her this long and she had remained entertained? A little bit of him seemed to flutter with pride at this and he shot a mental thanks to his uncle - those lessons on how to be an honourable rake had paid off. She was happy, he was happy...even if he hadn't managed to bed the pretty thing.

It probably wasn't appropriate anyway.

"It be a pleasure te show ye somethin' new, m'lady," he offered a warm smile at the mare and shook his head at her offer, "And as much as I would love te come with ye te yer home I best be gettin' back te me own. I got a crazy family as I be sayin' and I better make sure they still be standin'," he gave a small chuckle and canted his head to the side, savouring the mare's physique - well he couldn't well have her but he could dream about her.

"Ye be safe now, I be hopin' te see ye again..."

Ju could feel Biscuit's eyes on her, and she actually felt her cheeks reddening as he watched her. Normally, she would have been highly offended, but Biscuit had given her such a pleasant afternoon that she really didn't mind.

She chuckled as he mentioned his 'crazy' family again, and nodded slightly.

"I understand. I have no proper family to return to and care for, but I know that it is a big responsibility. It is nice to see that you handle such responsibility so well. There are some who are selfish, and don't care for their families at all."

For a moment, a flash of her anger at her parents surfaced, but she somehow gained control of it, and she hardly showed any sign of it showing its face. She regained herself and bowed low at Biscuit.

"Again, thank you very much. And I do hope to see you again in the future as well."

And with that, she turned, her heavy tail still dripping, and made her way towards home.
