Are people really blinded by the white? Weird. It feels much more comfortable to my eyes than a darker colour.
Maybe it has something to do with your resolution? I use mine really bright for all the games that I have, and the white is blinding @_@ The good thing is, the colors of the new layout look like dark purple and 'old-pink' for me.
