"Oh, her? No...she's just another refugee who recently arrived shortly after you. She had nowhere else to go and she was feeling weak so I allowed her into my home." he stated simply as he smirked slightly before looking at her, as there was a momentary silence as he listened to her suddenly come back with a question as she trailed off as he had as he looked up at her. Looking straight into her eyes for a moment, he didn't look away this time and there was a pause "Yeah, I do." he replied even though she didn't finish. It was a compliment he didn't give often and even Maya only heard the word on occassion because he honestly wasn't the type to use such a word, but the girl was pretty cute and he had to admit it.

Namine listened to his explanations. She shouldnt care who was in his home...it was HIS home after all. She felt stupid for asking those questions...and she almost asked him if he thought she was cute. Namine looked at him and was surprised to see that his purple gaze was on her as well. He stared into her eyes for a moment before he told her she was cute. Her hand came up to her mouth in surprise. He actually told he she was cute. Her stomach felt funny as if butterflies were dancing inside. "R..really?" she asked incredoulously. She shifted her weight and touched her hair feigning interest in it. Sneaking a peek here and there at Shinsei. Finally she said "No one other than Maya has told me so..When I was held captive no one spoke to me much less commented on my looks..today was the first day since I was a child that I looked at my reflection. Thanks Shinsei" she said. It took all her will to do what she did next. She walked towards him and gave him a hug her head leaning against his chest. She rose on tip toe and gave him a peck on the cheek.

Standing there silently for a moment, Shinsei put his arms around her for a moment and accepted the hug but the kiss on the cheek threw him off a bit as his wolf ears and tail appeared as he couldn't maintane the correct level of concentration to force them back. Laughing lightly at is own embarrassment, he scratched the back of his head lightly only to cut himself just slightly as a bit of blood ran under his claw-like nails before he moved his hand away from his skull and into his pocket. "Sorry about that...I-I've never...really...I haven't been...well, it's not important now, is it?" he said to stop his own stammering before he took a deep breath and calmed down.

Taisho Harusaki wandered around the bleak earth. Ever since that meteor storm, everything had died. She had managed to salvage a few plants in her house... Lilies and such, however they were the only remaining flora left in the wasteland. One of the only good things about the storm, was that it had created a land-bridge between Old Japan, as she preferred to call it, and Old China. It was a pretty large distance, But if Harusaki ever wanted to get onto the mainland, she could. It was an escape route, if nothing else.
Sighing softly, she picked up the singed remains of a teddy bear. No one had bothered cleaning her city, so he had to do it all herself. Stuffing the 'carcass; into her bag, she continued her trek along the broken sidewalk, her eyes dull. She didn't know when those "Beast" people were going to strike. Or even if they would enter her city.
But at least she'd make it decent for them.

He put his arms around her and she felt safe..complete..happy. It was strange what she was feeling. She wasn't ready for the reaction her kiss would bring forth as he mutated. "Im sorry I shouldn't have done that" she said turning away from him. The scent of his blood permeated her senses. She licked her lips recalling the taste of blood in her mouth from her attack on the reseachers. She headed to the kitchen looking for cloth. When she found one she dampened it and brought it back to him placing it on his head. "This is my fault..I didn't mean for this to happen" Namine said looking at him. "I'll understand if you want me to leave."

Feeling the cloth against his head, he relaxed a bit as he looked down at her while shaking his head a bit at her constant apologies. "Don't worry about it, it's my fault for being so easily caught off guard. I mean...it's fine, it's nothing I'd never want to talk to you again over..." he said as he looked at the blood that had accumulated under his nail as he slipped the index finger into his mouth a bit as the blood dripped down onto his tongue. Pulling his finger out, it was now free of the blood's crimson tint as he concentrated again to return to a more humane state. His beast form wasn't all that cute and cuddly to be honest as when he was fully transformed he almost seemed berserk. It was something he'd rather save for those bastards up on their floating city than to be shown off amongst his own people...

Namine smiled a little. She held the cloth to his head as he talked. Applying pressure to staunch the flow. The scent of his blood was driving her crazy and she wasn't sure why. She watched as he dipped his finger in his mouth and cleaned the blood off of it. Her heart beat a bit faster as she looked at his lips. She looked away feeling him change back to his normal self. He had mentioned talking to her again over..What? She wasn't sure. She recalled wishing she could hurt him before and now that he was a but hurt she was fussing over him. She didn't understand the effect he was having on her. She inhaled his scent her tail wagging happily behind her. "Are you ok now?" she asked not looking at him.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Thanks." he said with a smirk as he took the cloth from his head and felt the spot as he looked at his hand and smirked that the blood had stopped flowing. It wasn't a deep wound, just a shallow scratch as he sat down and scratched under his chin lightly and yawned a bit. Looking over to Namine, he smiled as he spoke softly "Hey, why don't you have a seat? I promise the couch won't stab you or anything, it's worn but safe. Hah."

Amelia listened silently as the leader of the knights spoke. She felt clausterphobic in the midst of all her supposed comrades on the shuttle. Secretly, her heart was racing. She worried about the difficulty of the upcoming mission. Would they really be able to surpress the beasts? Would she be expected to kill them? She shivered thinking about it and tried to shrug it off. When the leader finished, she whispered "Yes sir," staring at her feet. Her small voice was drowned among the shouts of those around her. She felt the jolt of the shuttle taking off and clenched her fists. "I truly am unprepared," she said to herself, biting her lip. She looked around for a good place to spend the journey. She noticed there was a spot open near the window. As she approached, she saw one of the knights she'd met in training, she thought his name might be Zack or something like that, banging his head against the window. She watched the balck-haired girl sit down next to him and make conversation. Amelia decided that joining them wouldn't be a bad idea, so she took her seat next to the black-haired girl, smiling softly. "Is something the matter?" she asked Zack, not using his name in case she remembered it wrong.

Kiyoko slowly opened her eyes. The blankets around her were so soft, as if made from the cottons of heaven. She was starting to feel better, although she had no idea just how much time had passed since she fell asleep. Suddenly, she felt another presence next to her. Rising from the bed slowly, she noticed a little girl in the larger bed, a teddy bear in her arms. Aww, how adorable. I wonder who......Then she remembered where she was. Wait, is this Shinsei's...no, wait. It's probably just another refugee. But she's so tiny, it's hard to believe a guy like Shinsei would wanna be around her. Then again, he was so kind to everyone. Even offering me a place to rest. Laying back down, she suddenly heard two voices in the opposite room. One was obviously Shinsei, the other she wasn't sure about. Mabye it's the first visitor he mentioned earlier. The one he rescued from the beach. She sat up and streched, careful not to wait the sleeping child. She rose from the bed, no longer the tired mess she was before. She brushed her hair using a fork she had with her (for the supplies back in quarintine weren't that great), slipped on her worn shoes, and tiptoed to the door. I really must thank Shinsei. she thought, for she was feeling a lot better. Her wings weren't too sore like before, and she quietly opened the door and shut it behind her, the child still sleeping. Sure enough, it was Shinsei and the girl from the beach.

Namine laughed at the comment about the couch. She took a seat making sure to give him enough space in case he didn't want her near him. "Im glad that cut was shallow and nothing to worry about" she said. Though the couch was worn it was surprinsingly comfortable..she liked it. Shinsei had asked her to sit on the couch does that mean he was getting ready to scold her..or did he just want to talk. Namine looked over at him her dark eyes two vast pools. She wondered what he was thinking and what he saw in those dark orbs of hers.

She kept walking, and cleaning, until she reached the shore. The water was unlivable now, and had turned a sickly green colour. Not pleasant. Sighing, she stooped to retrieve the carcass of a baby turtle, when a searing pain shot through her shoulder, a report ringing in her sensitive ears, a cry escaping her.
"Hehehe, bloody mongrel." A husky voice sneered from somewhere behind her. "What d'you think you're doing in our territory?" She could feel the cold metal of the gun press to the small of her back, and the disgusting-smelling man whispering in her ear.
"Might not want to touch me, human. You might get contaminated." She commented dryly. She wasn't scared of these buffoons. Only annoyed. Her dog side was becoming very territorial, and she consciously suppressed the growl which rose into her throat.
"That's a bunch of bull, sweetheart. You're as touchable as anyone from out world," He rasped, trailing a finger down her forearm.
Snarling, she whirled and dug her claws into his wrist, causing him to drop the gun, her free hand reaching inside her juban and drawing her own. She pointed it at him, and grabbed the other, putting the safety on and sticking it in her sleeve. "Touch me again, any of you and I drop you like rocks." She seethed. The missionary stopped dead. He didn't know she could smell and hear the others who were slowly surrounding her.
"You have no right, this is our territory-" "This has been my territory since your last little raid, you p***k." She growled. "Get out." She fired a warning shot, which whizzed past his ear, and, coincidentally, hit the guy behind him in the shoulder. He cried out in pain, clutching the wound. "I said get out."
They turned tail and ran, some dropping their weapons, some clutching them tighter. "Stupid humans," She swore in Japanese. "Sticking their noses where they don't belong." Replacing her gun, she picked up the others and tossed them into the ocean. "It isn't safe here.. Not anymore." She continued. Sighing, she went back to her home and gathered what she thought was necessary. Her plants... she didn't know what to do with them. She would be walking, and they would merely be excess weight. Great, she sighed again. filling her travel pack with essentials, she grabbed a book of matches, and her wallet, and left.
Striking a match, she broke a window and tossed it in, so that it fell next to something flammable. The book soon followed. If she were going to be leaving here for good, she wasn't going to leave anything that told those monsters where she went.
Turning in the general direction of the bridge, she began moving at a quick pace, changing into a dog as she went.
Her dog form was slightly larger than a regular dog, even bigger than a Great Dane. Her whiter-than-white fur shone in the sunlight, and she shifted the pack, which looked more like an overstuffed saddle bag, to her back, taking off at a run.
With some luck, she'd be at a mainland camp by nightfall.

Looking at two women approach and sit by him, Zack stopped banging his head against the glass as he looked at them before smiling weakly. "I-I'm sorry...I'm just more than a bit nervous is all...I-I don't like the idea of a war. At the same time, I can't let anything bad happen because of my inability to act...I'm so confused..." he said in a stammering yet calming voice. He looked down at his gloved hands and how much they were sweating under the leather was embarassing, so he was glad for the manditory clothing. Turning to the others he managed a weak smile as he moved some hair aside and wiped some accumulating sweat from his brow. "I-I'm Zack...Zack Murphey...I'm still a trainee, but I'll be fully graduated next week." he introduced himself shyly.
---------------------------------------
Shinsei looked at her for a moment as he sat in the seat with his legs pulled in, slightly comfortable as he sat like a dog almost. He looked out the window for a moment before hearing the door open and click shut lightly as his head twisted to see Kiyoko was awake. "Oh, you're up. That's good to see...fully rested and everything, I hope?" he asked with a bit of ambiguity in his expression, not too happy and not totally cold. "Kiyoko, this is Namine. Namine, Kiyoko." he introduced them as both had arrived near the same time though there were a good amount of minutes between each encounter. Picking out another drink from the cooler, he held it towards the girl who'd just awoken "Drink?"

Amelia smiled her best calm smile at Zack. "Pleased to meet you, Zack. I remember you vaguely from training. I was a bit ahead of you in the program. My name is Amelia Franklin" She put her hand on his arm gently. "Don't worry, Zack. Everyone has secret fears like yours. Don't be embarrassed. You will do just fine. The rest of us will watch your back." She thought perhaps she should change the subject. "Do you look forward to your graduation from training, then? It's a very prestigous day, as I'm sure you know quite well."

Namine looked over at Kiyoko and smiled. "Hi there.. nice to meet you" She said motioning for her to come closer. "Why don't you have a seat with us? were just talking." Namine looked over as Shinsei offered Kiyoko a drink. He really was nice even if he acted so tough. She smiled as she remember his reaction from earlier...stifling a laugh with her hand. "So Kiyoko what brings you here?" She asked curiously.
