Can I print it, pencil it, and then scan it over?

Chibi Kawaii-chan Aw, there are some games I feel that genuinely look good, bloom or no. This picture is for you. -kills self- That game really didn't seem so impressive. Call me a Nintendo radical, but it's just another ******** RPG, with some cliche storyline, and the graphics really didn't look that amazingly superior. Most of the cutscenes weren't even in real time.

I've seen the game and it looks pretty nice.

I shall enter a sword if I can get it done in time. In terms of colour, are we allowed to shade it, or should we use solid colour?

@Zen: You could if you really want to -- you have to make sure that your lines are the exact same size in pixels when you're done, though.
@Fish: Oh, I know it looks pretty generic as a game (it's not an rpg though) -- but it looks okay-fun -- good enough for me. I don't need all my games to have something startling and new about them. I still think it's pretty... crying
I woulda posted MGS4, but their animation and mocap skills seem to have gone down with time. Some of it made me cringe.
@Duraken-kun: Hooray! Swords for me!
@Forusei: Shading actually helps a bit if you do it right! It's best if it's done with a softer brush, like a fuzzy airbrush. Cel shading looks weird on the model. Pretend the light source comes from directly above, and the shading should be more subtle than anything.
@Brizzle: Hooray for the bloomiest game of all time. Not that I don't think it looks nice too.

Ah, that's fine, I wouldn't have used cel shading anyways (that's my lazy style). I'll knock you out a few nice swords then, my first idea involves green....

Hooray! I look forward to it!
I'd also like to remind everyone that our hero kitty up there is going to be the one using the sword, so make sure that you keep that in mind. (i.e. no glowing dark evil swords with demon wings)
OH! One more thing -- I can do transparency. That means you can draw holes in the blade if it makes you happy. Just point out where they are. They might not look great, though, so try not to have one unless it's absolutely integral to your design.

Here's my design Chibsaroonie. I've provided a copy with and without the lines, even though I know that the version with the lines would be useless as a texture XD (I like how the lines make it look, okay?!). I could have just kept the lines on the alpha channel etc, but I didn't... At any rate, I'll let you come to your own opinions on the design: With LinesWithout LinesLet me know if you need me to do anything to the design, there might be a couple of errors in there, I should really learn to slow down...

That looks fantastic! Many thanks! The smiley face is really cute. XD
It's a lot better than I could have done... I really suck at drawing weapons and pointy things.
I just remembered that if I'm going to put everyone's design in 3D, I'll need a high-res version sent to my gmail: c.b.y.law[at]gmail[dot]com.
