My firend was pulling the main tunins slide out on another girls french horn and broke the sodering on it denting it quite bad and then i forgot it was broken and picked it up from the same spot(trying to move the french horn to another seat) and it broke again in another spot. It's now a Ghetto horn with Duct tape ^_^!!!

Then I accidentally dropped my horn from about 3ft and dented it a bit...i was taking out of it's case which is in one of those cage storage containers....let's say my BD wasn't too happy when I told him another horn was broken...hahahaha

Good news though...they are SCHOOL horns......hahaha i love my ghetto school

no but once my friend (who plays the flute) was playing during band and one of the rods that held the keys in place fell off completely. none of my friends could finish the song because we were laughing too hard at her.

I was cleaning my mouth peice before class as always, and a beginner band kid came out with his trumpet mouth piece, so I said hi, and started to chat (i know odd...i didn't even know the kid) and he was tossing his mouth piece around and he dropped it and a huge chunk of it flew off. He quit the corse after that! LOL it was so funny! I just ran back inside and told my BD! LOL

Um...we got new sousas my freshman year. They were great, too. And then, in the first game, disaster struck in the form of vibrations making the sousa shift and eventually fall over completely in the stands. It was the off quarter, and I was sitting near it. When it fell, I blinked and looked behind me. Horror struck. Massive dents. People denying it was their fault. The usual. Now the tubas have to always keep an eye on their sousas. I was sooo scared of getting lynched for those two giant dents. Dx

But now I think it's hilarious. xDD Freshman can be silly.

Twice.
Well, the first time my flute did a complete 90-degrees, and the second time, it was just majorly dented.

Funny, I left my flute on the couch dismembered. Stupidly, I forgot to put in the case, sat down and get up to find the bottom of my head joint COMPLETELY skinny!

I break the peg off my bass clarinet all the time. I play mellophone in marching band and some pretty funny things have happened. Someone got their horn hit my a football. And then another person got hit by the color guard. They had some pretty weird dents and bends.

Hahahah, I remember one day with my alto my stupid friends were messing around these two heavy doors that are sort of broken. See they like shut really fast, and I have a soft case with my alto. It sucked cause They decided to shut it on me, well the like one ton door came down on my side and I got out but my alto got stuck. Once I opened the instrument the whole bell was bent inward and it cost me about two thousand to fix it. I should have just bought a new one.

I've never seriously broken my instrument to the point of no repair (laugh)

but i remember in my elementary school days i left my flute across my chair (yes very smart) and someone sat on it -__-....

the foot piece was bent.

it got fixed, but now my flute has a little curve to it biggrin

My sister broke her clarinet a long time ago. She now plays the flute due to that. HAHA..

well, not broken per say....but i did get my cleaning rag caught in my clarinet XD once...well twice, but the second time it was pretty REALLY stuck....luckily someone was coming that day to fix something else so my band director just asked him to help my poor clarinet XD no real damage...but I am definitely more careful when cleaning my clarinet XD

I had snapped off the lowest valve on my conta alto which made it hard to play most of my music cause I needed my low E flat! It was completely an accident but I wasn't able to play that single note, which is my favorite note, for 4 months.
And just a question but does breaking or nearly breaking yourself count? X3 cause i've done that too!
