With HEavy Training, A Nodachi would be an awesome weapon, despite its size. for small arms perople, or those less trained i would say Sais, that are lightweiaght and dont take alot of wwork to understand and wield well, thought master of sais is difficult

Yeah, the Nodachi is a devastating weapon on the field, but in an enclosed space you'd be lucky to get it drawn. I wonder if there'd be a way to get legislation passed so that carrying swords in public would be cool again.

It's great, except for the loose ito. There are odachi and Nodachi. Nodachi are what Firefly was talking about in his pic. Just ask Bondage Bunny. If hes refering to the red nihonto hes holding in the pic, then it is actually an odachi. " An ōdachi, meaning "big/thick sword", was a type of long Japanese sword. The term nodachi, or "field sword", which refers to a different type of sword, is often mistakenly used in place of ōdachi." "Nodachi" usually reffers to battlefield nihonto that fall into the daito and tachi categories. That sword that hes holding is roughly 68" and by most standards, is considered an odachi

Does it really matter what it's called? I think really big katana works just fine.

I've always loved the bo and nunchucku, as well as the fans (those were pretty!) and I was fairly good at Kama's, although I got quite a few wounds on my back...
But my Sensei just gave me an engraved Katana as a gift! For no reason other than me being a Sensei and teaching the kiddies.
I was freaking out.
The Katana is, so far, my absolute favorite.

but, from what I heard I will love using the Sais, who knows, we will see when I get my yellow belt
