Now that Ky and Levi had left, the conversation in the hall ceased, and Nori found himself quite alone with Xavier. He fidgeted when he realized he didn't have much of anything to say. The doctor's appointment for Ky was still at the front of his mind, so all other subjects seemed submerged. It seemed too late in the morning to worry about breakfast, but everyone else seemed to be going in the direction of the kitchen, so he wondered if should as well. Even in the unoccupied hall, there seemed to be a lot of movement, as the shadows of men paced around the mansion walls. " I don't think I'll get used to having this many strangers around...The place is like a hotel." Nori said it more to himself then to Xavier. He started a slow walk down the hall to who-knows-where, turning around to see if Xavier was coming with him.

Charles wandered around the mansion, smiling at the works of art; as he saw Jaydn on the stairs with Karma, he tried to make himself unnoticed. Being a big man, of 6’5” and a over 200 pounds, it seemed like it would be a little hard, but since Jaydn’s full attention seemed to be on Karma, Charles took the opportunity to slink away to find Maddox instead. It wasn’t that the twenty eight year old feared Jaydn, but he had heard Xavier trick his brother that morning and thought immediately to stay away from his boss and report the days money problems to the most timid of the brothers. Charles knew that Maddox wouldn’t yell at him.

The problem, as it was, wasn’t Charles’ fault, but he would take full blame for the men who were placed under him, because he felt he led them wrong if there was a problem. Noticing Maddox through the open door that led to the living room, Charles made his way in that direction. He said a ‘hello’ to the man he had heard to be Ian, who was from another mafia in itself, and continued past him to see Maddox.

”Maddox.” Charles said to the other man, after he had said a ‘hello’ to his fellow mafia mates. Charles’ voice was soft for a man of his size, a little higher then would be expected, and it sometimes threw people off whom didn’t know him.

Meanwhile...Flirting [End]

---

While walking toward the living room, Ian found himself to be quite popular with the many new people wandering around the mansion. He nodded and said hello to them as they acknowledged him. He wasn't used to all these new people around...It was very confusing...He still hadn't gotten to know his own new mafia members. Now there were a bunch of new men from another mafia in the mansion. Finally getting to the living room, he sat down on the couch. He was tired...Mostly from arguing with Jamie...Although it hadn't really been arguing...Ian looked up at the ceiling as if the answers would fall from it. There had to be something that could be done. They couldn't keep this up. But Jamie kept teasing him...It had to stop if they were going to get anywhere...Right? He wasn't so sure.

Meanwhile...Flirting [End]

---

James emerged, calmed now, from his room, and shoved his hands in the pockets of his jeans. It had been a while since he had really interacted much with the others, more than a simple hello. So he made his way to the first floor, lazily passing the living room. He glanced at Ian, and figured that saying anything was only going to lead to a repeat of the last time. But he knew that Ian was going to see him wandering, he didn't know what it would bring about. He didn't know if he wanted it to bring anything. But he figured hiding himself away from the world solely to not see the other man was insipid and the stuff of bad emo songs. He wanted to see the new boys that were living with them, and he wanted to see his fellow mafia members. He hadn't spoken with them in so long.

As Nori began to walk away, Xavier watched him go. Xay had heard his statement, but had never felt that way around a lot of people, so he choose to not to say anything. Xavier had always been fine with large groups of people; maybe it was because he had grown up in a mafia family or maybe it was because his mother insisted that he go out and not stay cooped up in his room with his computer all the time, either way, Xavier had come to appreciate others being around. It was hard for the teenager to be alone now, he didn't much care for it. As it was, Xavier mostly just liked to know there were other people around if he did want to talk to them.He liked company.

Xavier was more then aware of the fact that Nori didn't really care for his company much, and resigned to not follow the other teen. He sighed and made his way in the opposite direction to his room. Once he got there, he stripped off his dress clothes and reverted to jeans and a jrock t-shirt. He yawned and turned to the clock, time had seemed to be moving really slow, and Xavier was suprised to see that it was near 10. It still wasn't anywhere near time to be eating again. Thinking of eating reminded Xavier of his jaw. Reaching his hand up, he touched it gently, it was still tender, But at least it stopped throbbing. Grabbing his laptop off his desk, he left his room again. I wonder where everyone is.

Making his way down the stairs, he saw Jaydn talking to Karma, and made eye contact with the far wall, pretending not to notice his older brother. Somethings up. Stepping lightly off the last stair, Xavier noticed a few people wandering towards the living room and decided that that was where he would go himself. He saw James walk by the living room, but not enter it, and found that he didn't much care if the other man was in the room or not. James seemed to want nothing to do with him, and Xavier still couldn't figure out why. He shrugged it off and noted the other people in the room. Ian was there, the man that had been said to be James' lover; Xavier didn't mind homosexuals, but he didn't think that that kind of thing should be permitted in a mafia. Not my say. He thought, shrugging away that opinion as well. Charles had just entered and by the looks of it had something important on the tip of his tongue, The day may just get interesting again. Xavier thought, taking a seat on the second couch that was in the room; the one that Ian wasn't occuping.

Flipping open his laptop, he watched the screen as it loaded quickly, his attention half on it and half on the conversation that he was sure would ensue between Maddox and Charles. Typing in his password, Xavier began to look through the days events. He had his laptop set so that he would know all the information that was passed between the members of the Coyotes, all the important information was filtered out and Xavier started there. He opened the document titled 'Coleman River' first, and his mouth dropped in surprise, The Hayes brothers!? He regained his composure almost instantly though as his eyes shifted again to Charles, He couldn't be here because of that... Xavier thought as he scanned the four other titles within his days documents. Days scouting roles. No. That was only of importance so that Jaydn, Maddox, and Miles would know where everyone would be for the day. News from Han. No. Wouldn't be something that Charles would have knowledge of. Money lost on the Hayes brothers. A pause as he read the line again, Aha! He smiled, but immediately frowned when he read what it was about. He closed his laptop and leaned back, waiting for Charles to break the news.

Jaydn was a little confused as to how Karma knew exactly what Jaydn wanted from him but he didn’t question it. It saved him some time though it did make Karma seem almost guilty. Almost like he’s trying to hide something about it… Jaydn shook the thought off. If Karma was hiding something, Jaydn would find out, no doubt about that. Eyes and ears for Jaydn were everywhere on everyone, including his own mafia members. Trust was something that not too many had fully with Jaydn, the last thing he needed was a betrayal especially from his own team.

Jaydn gave Karma a nod, continuing, “Then I expect to have the paperwork for the shipment by the end of this week.” There were other things that were on Jaydn’s mind concerning the whole incident but he would ask about them at another time. For now he need to consult Maddox on the newest developments. “Thank you for your time, Karma.” It wasn’t as if Karma’s time wasn’t Jaydn’s to begin with but this meant that Jaydn was simply done with the other man for now and he was dismissed. Turning away, Jaydn walked around the first floor, wondering where his brothers had disappeared to. Jaydn had briefly noticed that Xavier had passed by him and Karma earlier, along with Charles, who Jaydn also needed to speak with. Waste of time. Jaydn was annoyed by this chore. It was perfectly routine for him to spend his whole day walking around the Coyotes headquarters, talking to his heads of departments to gather information about the going on’s of his mafia, but it didn’t make it any less pleasant for the now 24 year old man who wanted to have more time in his life for other, less diplomatic, things.

Maddox gave a sigh to himself as he glanced up and realized that the least occupied room in the mansion was very quickly becoming the most occupied. It wasn’t that he didn’t like being with the other members of the mafia, it was just that sometimes they made it hard for him to concentrate. Turning his attention back to his notebook, he was able to just get back his train of thought before he heard his name being said. Lifting his head, his eyes showing confusion rather than annoyance as was typical with Jaydn, Maddox saw that Charles was the one who called to him. Closing the notebook, Maddox gave Charles a nod and a polite smile as he answered, “Hello Charles. How can I help you?” Maddox’s English was tinted with the slightest, almost unnoticeable Japanese accent as he spoke. He was softer than usual when speaking in the foreign language, unsure of his own ability to pull off the language though he was much clearer in it than Xavier.

Charles stalled for a second, aware of the fact that Xavier was now watching him and Maddox. He glanced over at the man that was eleven years his junior and gave him a slight smile before turning his attention back to Maddox. ”The Hayes brother’s, rest their souls,” He paused, ”They had been carrying a large amount of our funds for the month. And by a large amount, I mean over half of it, and the month has only just started..” Since Jaydn always asked for a solution immediately, Charles already had one. He cleared his throat and continued, ”We are going to have to work over time in my department to go out and collect some money from those who owe us. Also, I am going to need the assistance of Miles in this, because I heard from another man this morning that there is a guy in town right now that has, how can I say this, very deep pockets, and if Miles can persuade him into aiding us, we may just be able to get our money back.”

Karma nodded at the Jaydn. "Yes sir. Karma will....I'll have the paperwork for you by the end of the week." He watched as Jaydn walked downstairs and out of sight. Karma sighed and continued toward the kitchen. Karma is really hungry now.... Jaydn hardly even talked to him unless it was business. Not that he cared really. It just made conversations easy and hopefully, relatively pronoun free. Talk about weapons. End and start of the conversation. Simple enough...

Maddox blinked a few times blankly before saying anything in response to Charles' report. "Eh?" was the first thing he could think of to say and even that came out more as a soft squeak. For him to hear that over half of their funds were gone was a big enough blow without him actually knowing the specific amount. But he couldn't keep his mind from going on and calculating the estimated number from what he knew the funds were just a few days before and the amount of zeroes in that number made him a tad bit paler than usual.

Maddox scooted forward to sit on the edge of the armchair's cushion, hunched over with his elbows resting on his knees, head tilted down so that his hair fell to slightly obscure his face as he seemingly went into his own world as he thought this information over. How did this happen so quickly? Oh no, was I the one who said to Jaydn that it would be okay for the Hayes to leave with that much money? Now that I think about it, I think I did convince him that it was the best course. Ah, he's going to be so angry with me. Maddox could feel the pressure weighing down on his head from the guilt of leading his brother the wrong way. Brows furrowed as he sat there thinking, twisting the pen cap around the pen distractedly, nervously, Maddox's blue grey eyes seemed fixed on the floor for a moment before he looked up at Charles.

Honestly, Maddox had been rather rude in his thoughts of the man before him when they were first introduced. Because he lived in Japan for most of his life, Maddox very rarely came in contact with anyone who was black unless they were a foreigner and moments with those were extremely brief. With the stories he heard from Jaydn about how 'rough' America was and the movies' portrayal of black gangsters living in America, Maddox simply made the assumption that every black person was more than ready to be aggressive and want to beat Maddox into a pulp if he should ever even look at them. So he was completely surprised by how Charles, a black man so big that he looked as if he could crush Maddox with just two fingers, was nothing like how he had imagined him. After getting to know the man, Maddox found that he liked Charles more than he liked most of the other members of his brother's mafia, finding the man to be gentle almost in his mannerisms.

Quietly, Maddox asked because he simply needed to know, "Have you spoken with Jaydn yet?" The plan that Charles had come up with to solve their dilemma sounded good to Maddox but Jaydn was the one who had to okay it, not Maddox. Why Charles told him didn't make sense to Maddox, didn't Charles know by now that Maddox just didn't have the power to give him the go ahead?

Charles thought on this for a little while. He hadn’t told Jaydn, because he knew that Jaydn would throw a fit, especially since the day had not been going so well for him. He cleared his throat again, ”No, I have not told the boss yet.” He said slowly. ”I couldn’t find him, so I sought out the next in command.” Technically next in command would be Miles because everyone in the Coyotes knew that Maddox wasn’t to be trusted with his brother’s mafia, but Miles was actually no where to be found, unlike Jaydn who Charles had seen on the stairs. Charles was always good at escaping the wrath of Jaydn where it could be helped. He always took the blame, but somehow always managed to avoid the yelling.

Charles tended to keep his wits about him, and made sure that he was familiar with his boss’ mood on any given day. This made it so that he could give him the good information on days when it would best suit himself, [and when Jaydn was down so that Charles could seem like a hero of sorts], and so that he could tell Jaydn the bad news on days that Jaydn was in a good mood so he wouldn’t be as cranky about it. Charles didn’t do it all to make himself look good, it was also to help the morale of the group, because if Jaydn wasn’t in a good mood…chances were that the rest of the team was going to be in a bad mood too.

Charles hadn’t given Jaydn the information that he had just told Maddox because he knew that Jaydn would probably kill the messenger. Charles’ choice to tell Maddox instead in this case was to keep himself out of trouble, because he was in enough trouble with his wife as it was, without being in trouble with Jaydn as well. The big man gave a smile to Maddox, a sad yet reassuring type of smile, before he opted to leave the room before Jaydn found his way in there. Leaving out of the back of the living room, so that he wouldn’t meet up with Jaydn on his way out, Charles went to inform his men of their overtime.

Meanwhile…In the upper part of town [End]

---

Kyrin and Miles had arrived back at the mansion around two o'clock in the afternoon from their shopping and lunch. Kyrin was impressed by the small little Deli type restaurant that Miles had taken her to and decided to go there again next time she was in the area. Kyrin had spent the rest of her afternoon doing a whole lot of nothing. She hadn’t felt good again so she spent most of the time she had lounging about in her room. During her time out, Miles had given her a lot to think about, and it just irritated her. Trying to ease her stomach and her mind, Kyrin slept away the afternoon.

Kyrin looked at the clock in the ballroom, which now read shortly after eight PM. Lounging on her throne, she sighed. She felt like a failure. I don’t have a mafia, I’m more then likely pregnant, and there are almost three hundred men coming in and out of my home on a regular basis… When she had returned back to the mansion [before her nap], she found her oldest cousin to still be irritated. The only good thing that had come of it was that he had called a meeting at the bar. Not much of a meeting I'm sure. Kyrin thought, But it should be a fun night anyway. Kyrin and Jaydn had talked it over and the two had decided that Ky would bring her mafia, and Jaydn would bring his higher ups from his mafia so that the two sides could become better acquainted over a beer or some other alcohol related drink. Kyrin had asked Nori, James, and Ian to accompany her. As she thought about how little her numbers had become she winced slightly. Oh, sigh.. As it was, Ian and James weren’t technically part of her mafia, so that left her with just Nori, because everyone else was gone. Jaydn would bring Miles [who Kyrin had hung out with for the morning], Karma [who Kyrin had yet to meet], Charles [who Kyrin hadn’t heard of before], and Levi [who Kyrin had met earlier in the hallway]. Maddox would be going, he was a given. Xavier, Kyrin was sure, would go even though his brothers likely wouldn’t appreciate the seventeen year old coming to the bar.

Getting off her throne, Kyrin sauntered out of the ballroom. She had been quite displeased that two of Jaydn’s men were always by the door to the ballroom, and had ordered them away. Once she left the room, though, the two men resumed their positions. Jaydn had said that they would all meet to leave at about nine in the main room. I have 45 minutes. Kyrin thought as she made her way up the stairs and to her room to get ready for the night.

Meanwhile…In the upper part of town [End]

---

After treating Kyrin to lunch and returning from shopping, Miles spent much of the afternoon reviewing things on his laptop like the other majority of the mansion. Later he talked a little with Charles about the money-matters, almost relieved that the whole Hayes Brothers incident gave himslef and everyone else more things to do. But to make himself ultimatly satisfied, he called around the different departments on his cell phone just to see how things were going(and to intimidate people who he didn't know on the other line).

Later, Miles learned from Jaydn that he and Kyrin's "group" (Miles couldn't quite bring himself to call them a mafia yet) were going to mingle over some drinks. That sounded fine to him, since he might as well know his allies a little better, but he preferred if the group could do something more productive instead. He would have to go anyway, since Jaydn requested it, so he would try to at least enjoy himself if he could, and see what type of people the Coyotes were sharing the mansion with.

As the sun was setting, Miles had been sitting comfortably on the main room's sofa, reading different news articles. He leaned back to rest his head, and managed to fall into a light sleep with his laptop's screensaver bouncing around in front of him. As the meeting time came closer, he slept on, which wasn't too unusual for Miles. He didn't sleep too much at night, so inbetween moments of leasure, he'd prop himself into a catnap; and almost as fast as it took him to doze, he would wake up and go about his bussiness when it was time to (the same way a sleeping person on a bus knows when to wake up and get off at their stop). But right now, his body was content with resting itself.

Nori contented himself that afternoon doing his average chores of dusting and cleaning and cooking for anyone who happened to be hungry. He even made some delicious pastries and left them on a platter in the kitchen for Jaydn's men to snack on. When he hummed around the masion to get to some of his usual spots, he found that quite a few of them were miraculously already cleaned (by Karma). As he used a broom on the floor of the main room, he noticed one of Jaydn's men asleep on the sofa, so he swept around his feet and continued around the rest of the bottom floor as he nodded greetings to those who walked by.

Kyrin had told him earlier that they were going out to have a proper meeting with the Coyotes, so he decided it would be equally proper if he remained dressed as a male. Nori was actually a little glad that he finally would get to meet some of the Jaydn's crew a little better, besides the in-between short chats, such as with Levi. The only thing he was worried about was the possibility of Ky drinking, but he would have to deal with that hurdle when he came to it. In the meantime, Nori sat on the other sofa opposite the sleeping man as he waited for the room to fill up, trying to catch little particles of dust that he could see floating in the air.

Draven had been doing a lot of thinking lately and had totally avoided the mansion after the mission was called off. His feelings for Kyrin stirring up more then he’d like to admit, it was a simple fact that he needed to avoid her in order to press those emotions down and commit to his job with the mafia. The first few days were exceptionally painful, forcing himself to forget anything he felt was no easy task and certainly didn’t feel good.

For a week Draven stayed fully away from the mansion, living in a hotel. He still had access to his family’s wealth, which seemed to be building more and more, it led Draven down another painful road, “I wonder how mother is…” he thought to himself as he sat drinking coffee one morning. It had been years since he even bothered to think about her, let alone worry. It was one of Draven’s many flaws, his ability to push down emotions, only to have them spill over at the wrong moment.

Really, if he had thought about it, he had complete control of his emotions; he just let the feelings come up, a welcome reprieve from the hollow stone that he called his heart. Draven started going to a local coffee shop and read books about far off lands, lands where his could forget his problems, where he could immerse himself in a world of wonderful fantasy…

His last few days of being away were fairly uneventful and passed quickly, although he did use his time away to sort through him emotions Draven was no better off. The time to think only began to wrap him tighter in a web of despair, thinking about a hurtful past was never a good thing, Draven knew this, but still he couldn’t pull his mind from the dark recesses, it was as if he saw stuck in some sort of sludge, hindering his movements.

By the time Draven got to the mansion his face was pallid and a blank expression filled his face. It was as if someone had hollowed him out from the inside, and Draven surely felt that way. He also had this lingering feeling that he was missing something in his life… As if something of his had been taken, but his mind couldn’t quite grasp it.
