(Hehe, no, it's good for him. ^^)

Borus snarled and looked away, slamming his fist upon the counter.

"Goddess, Percival, must you bring up that again? Not a day goes by when I do not torture myself with those memories." He frowned at his friend.

"I was lucky to even remain a knight. It was our captain's piety that kept me here, not my own honor. No, that was lost long ago..." He turned away.

"But that is not what troubles me tonight." He msiled, almost amused by the whole thing. "Strike two."

I must apogize Borus but you did ask me to guess...

Hmmm...well ok then how about 20 questions?

1) Is it someone I know?

In her room at home, Chris took deep breaths as she sat on her bed. Around her emotions, she felt fine, but her emotional status was almost critical. 'Dammit... Why do the Knights have to split up now... What about Tinto? And the Grasslands? How about Harmonia? We have so many enemies... yet so very few of us can remember that we were allies with some of them until recently.'

She sighed, staring down at her bare feet, her boots having been kicked off some time ago. Grabbing a chair, she moved it to her window, and watched the snow fall, hoping it would help her calm down.

Five minutes later, she was crying again.

"Yes."

Said Borus quietly, crossing his arms and moving over to an unoccupied window. He watched the snow fall for a long moment, his eyelids growing heaveir as he stared out at the silent darkness.

He sighed. He had no idea why he was going along with this. He didn't really want Percival to know.

But then again, it was more than likely he already knew. He smiled as he watched his friend thinking. Leaning back against the windowsill, he tilted his head and waited for the other knight's answer.

Salome walks into the tavern and spots Borus and Percival. After taking a seat and ordering a cup of wine he looks at the two and studies them for a moment "Don't tell me, that Percival got to you again. You two I swear are like brothers. You seem to never stop agureing about something." he takes a sip of his wine "So what is the problem this time. Did Percival ruin anther tender moment with our Captain." he says jokingly it was odd for him to be like this, but was close to the holidays.

Nope for once were not arguing and not ruining...

Guessing is today's game, guess what is up with Sir Borus here.

It's some one in the group

*turning back to Borus*

Next question...since none of us have been argueing so far as yet, I'm going to guess the only other factor that is common around here....our very own Silver Maiden!!

*Laughs and goes to buy another drink*

Salome looks at Boris and smiles.

"Indeed he is love struck by our Silver Maid. Indeed her Beauty is the only thing that surpasses her Skills but I think she had her eyes set on that Grassland boy."

Chris hicced as she bit back her tears, loudly sniffing them back as she looked around herself. 'Dammit... I need something to calm me down... Maybe I'll go get some wine downstairs...' She thought, getting to her feet and moving to the exit of her room.

On her way down the stairs, she consumed herself in her thoughts. Sure, she was quite hurt about the others and herself growing slowly apart, but why? Was it because they were her friends? Was it because they were more like her family than her own father had been?

Or was it... she just couldn't stand to see them move on? Sure, she disliked the attention of the public. The attention placed on Chris Lightfellow, the Silver Maiden. But what about Christina Lightfellow, concerned woman? Christina Lightfellow, fearful woman? Or how about Christina Lightfellow... the lonely girl?

How about her needs rather than the needs of all Zexen? She was young, still in the prime of her very, very long life. She was attractive, and would remain as such for many, many years. But what did that get her? Not much, that's what.

'Face it, Christina Lightfellow, you need someone in your life and you need someone soon.' She thought, heading for the liquor cabinet. Once there, she opened it swiftly, grabbing the first bottle she saw and started for the living area after grabbing a glass.

Christina Lightfellow needed to be loved.

Some could say her maternal clock was starting to tick. Some could say she was just lustful. Some would be right, some would be wrong. She was always surrounded by handsome men, but she needed something more than how well they can protect her. She needed more than just physical appearance. She needed someone that could live with her for a long time. Someone young, like her.

That left multiple people she could see. Her best option was Hugo, since he also had a True Rune, so they could live together forever. Thus, she'd tried with all her might to fall for him. And it partially worked, she was definately attracted to him. Then there were the other Knights. Some, like Borus and Percival, would make good choices. However, Salome was more like her father than a friend. It would feel like incest to think of being with him. And her feelings for Leo and Roland were rather neutral. And Louis was too young to even understand what she needed.

'Face it, Chris, you're either horny or you need a fight or something.' She thought and started up a fire, then taking a seat. Looking at the bottle, she found it was brandy rather than wine. But, with a shrug of her shoulders, she sat back and poured herself a glass. Slowly, she began to drain the glass.

Borus sat down upon a stool and looked away, his face red. He drew himself into a tighter ball with each mention of Lady Chris. He smiled as he covered his face with a gloved hand. As much as he hated to admit it, he somewhat enjoyed the teasing. He knew the two of them meant well, and it gave him something else to think about.

He sighed and looked up at his fellow knights, the faintest shadow of a smile gracing his stoic lips. "You two don't know when to give up, do you?"

He sighed and looked at his feet, his cheeks now very red from embarassment.

"You know as well as I that she'll never feel that way for me, so don't encourage me."

He couldn't look at them. This was the first time he had actually admitted to his feelings, and it wasn't very comfortable.

"You never know Borus, maybe she's just waiting for you to make the first move. In any case, I'm to flirtasious for her and Sir Salome here is too old for her as is Leo, Louis is too young, and Roland has no intrest in humans really, sooo a clear street for you to roam, eh...within the knights anyways"

((Jeez think Chris' post was long enough?!))

By now, Chris felt like her head was pounding, and she could feel a warmth throughout her body, each inch of her flesh feeling five or six degrees warmer. As she poured herself another glass of brandy, she slowly unbuttoned the top of her shirt. Her face was slightly reddened from the alcohol in her system, while her gaze was a little euphoric.

This was the reason why she disliked drinking, she thought through the euphoric haze over her mind. She dipped back her next glass, then put the glass down. Her shirt was showing a good amount of cleavage, while her night pants were in fine condition.

'Maybe...' The drunken haze began, '... We should invite the guys over... Maybe have a little fun driving them up the walls for a change.' She giggled a little at the thought, then tried getting to her feet. Immediately, she stumbled and fell back to the ground.

'Okay, I think I'll just pass out right here...' And she did just that.

**Pericival decided if he drunk anymore he'd pass out then and there and so with a furtive and slurred farewell to Borus and Salome marched, if somewhat wobbly out the door.

At his house he sat down and thought for a long while**

"I wonder how this will change things in the group, and if so for how long," he muttered to himself, "I wonder what Chris is doing any way, at this moment. Hmmm...probaply attending some stiff council meeting. Ah, well such is the life of a knight"

**As he started unbuckling his armor and removing his over shirt he glanced across the cityscape**

"Odd, Chris' light is on, either she's talking to someone or somethings trobling her. Ah well."

**And sunk into a drunken sleep spralled on his bed**

((BTW: I remember now: Sonix-Are you partially refering to what Sarah kept needling Chris with in the Ruins and Kuput Forest?))

((Remember how Sarah kept asking Chris if she truely want to keep the rune, and if she did could she bear the pain of living with it. Or something along those line...))

(Nice long posts, nice long posts. Me like. ^^)

Borus rested his forehead in the palm of his hand. He sighed deeply.

"A clear street indeed..." He frowned at Percival. "You saw the look on her face when Salome mentioned the griffon. There was only one meaning in that look, and only one person it could be about..." He sighed heavily again.

After Percival had departed, Borus stood up and nodded to Salome. "I think I'll be taking my leave as well. Good night, Salome."

With that, he left the bar and emerged once more into the frosty winter air. Collecting himself as best he could, he set his jaw and trudged on through the drift towards home.
