Irene went to her father, and she started to cry. "Why didn't you tell me all this?" Her father looked at her and smiled very weakly. "I wanted to protect you... From your worries and woes. You've always been so pure, I didn't want you to think all this was your fault." Irene took both her hands and held his.
"All this time, you told me you found me wounded in the alleyway and took me in. But I guess that would mean I'd be like the other kids. I knew there had to be some reason I was the only one not up for adoption." The man looked so old now, even though he was only in his thirties. He shook his head slightly.
"I did find you wounded in an alleyway. You were cut and bruised, and your leg was broken. And the reason you weren't up for adoption was because you were the only one that didn't act like the others. While they played with toys, you helped with the cooking and cleaning. And when you weren't helping us, you were going off on adventures in the town. you always talked about travelling the world and learning new things.
My wife and I found you were special, and so kept you as our own daughter seeing as we couldn't have kids. It was like you were brought to us from heaven, our own little angel. Come to think of it, you did have wings. Even though they were black like the demons, your heart was bright and caring. And now these are my last minutes on earth. I just want to say that I love you Irene. You were... Truly my little angel."
Irene had tears rolling down her eyes. "Oh dad, I'm no angel. It was you who took me in."

Aubrey sighed and looked at his wrist. There wasn't a watch there, but he knew what time it was.
Aubrey walked into the room, seeing Irene in tears. He took it that Irene now knew who she was.
"It is time, dear friend."

Kaori kept herself quiet and nodded as she knew the man's time was up. She was confused by all of this, but hoped she'd be able to regain her memory and help Irene get hers back as well. ((Sorry sweatdrop I was super busy today))

Aubrey placed his hand over the mans eyes.
"You won't feel any pain..."
Aubrey spoke emotionlessly, and his gaze was set in stone.
"Goodbye, friend."
A flash of light emitted from under Aubrey's hand, and lasted for about three minutes. The light soon went out, and Irene's father lay motionless on the bed. Aubrey quitely said a prayer, made a cross, and left the room.

Kaori bowed her head in respect and prayed as she walked out of the room as well.

Irene wiped her tears. There was only one thing she could have possibly once been. "I love you dad, have peace in heaven." Irene placed the hand she held onto his chest. It was still dark, they would have to take and bury the body in the morning. How would the kids take it? And who was going to watch them now? These questions filled her head.
Irene had black wings, did that mean she used to be a demon too? But why make her lose her memory? Why turn her human? Why kill her mother? So many questions filled her head as she left the room. She closed the door and looked at the other two mournfully.

"Irene, you should get some rest. It's been a long day, and we have a perilous journey ahead of us."
Aubrey smiled reassuringly, and stretched his wings as far as the room would permit. He wasn't used to being outside. Nor being this tired, usually he slept when his darker side took over, but now it was different...

Irene looked at Aubrey and smiled weakly. She was very tired, but there was something she had to do. "I wish I could sleep, but I have to get the kids ready for school. They're all in school now, and I made deals with the principals to get them in school free." Irene yawned. "I have lunches to make, Thirty six of them. You're welcome to sleep though.
There are beds in the rooms with the kids if you prefer. Then there's the living room, just sleep wherever it's comfortable." Irene was still sad for the loss, her smile was weak but it was bright. She walked past Aubrey to the kitchen opposite from the office in the living room. 'What am I going to tell the kids? They'll be so crushed.' Irene thought.

i saw the flash of light but barely so i come running up to the orphanage and open the door and go in just to see that the man was lying on the bed motionless and thinking that one of the people killed him

"I'll help... Sleep isn't one of my strong points. Kaori, you're welcome to sleep, eat, or help. Whatever you prefer." Aubrey tried to keep the mood light, and not as if someone just died. But someone did just die, and that makes things ten times harder.

Kaori went back to her bubbly self and giggled, "I can help with the kids if you'd like. "Kaori smiled and skipped lightly to the kitchen with Irene,' I wonder what will happen now. I hope they don't make me go to school, like all the other people I meet.Kaori giggled to herself as she remembered she was thousands of years old.

Irene smiled. "Thanks you guys." She tried to not think about her father, but rather the kids. Irene heard the front door open, then saw just at the corner of her eye someone going toward the bedrooms. She turned quickly and thought it must have been a demon. "I just saw something... I think it's after the kids." Irene said to the others alarmed.

Aubrey took out his Guitar-Scythe and turned around.
"Just another nuisance..." He whispered, and started walking toward the living room.

Kaori nodded and ran toward the kids bedrooms and blocked the door to whoever came this way. Kaori had an odd feeling it wasn't a demon, but just to make sure she still blocked the door.

Irene made sure her Phantom Dagger was at hand, and followed. She stayed just out of the hallway, in case whoever or whatever it was tried to run.
