Ronin leaps forward, tearing into the Necromacer Student, dealing 14 damage to him. Kitai smashes into the Necromancer Teacher for one damage, and Kitai's Gargant bashes into the Skeleton Mage it has pulled away from Thorn dealing five damage to it.
Gonzu's fireball flies across the room and shatters both skeletons. Since Kitai's Gargant had already done 5 damage to one, Gonzu is able to toss an extra point of damage to the Necromancer student, already terribly week from Ronin's fierce assault. The extra 4 damage, combined with the other extra 3 damage left over from Kitai's Gargant's Skeleton Mage flies into the Teacher, and combines with an 8 damage Energy Burst from Thorn, for a total of 15 magical damage. This effort comes down to nothing, however, as the Teacher activates his Amulet of Spell Dispersion, which absorbs up to 20 magical damage for 1 MP.
Thorn tosses a heal at Ronin, Gonzu drinks his healing potion, and round two commences.
In round two, the Necromancer Teacher realizes that he can't win this fight, so decides to drop the group's healing battery (Thorn) with an Energy Burst, and makes ready to use his Amulet of Spell Dispersion again.
Gonzu: 10/10 life, 6 AP, 3 MP.
Ronin: 24/35 life, 6 AP, 6 MP.
Kitai: 10/20 life, 6 AP, 2 MP.
Party pool: 6 AP, 6 MP.

"C'mon lads! We got im on the run!!" Kitai rushes towards the Necromancer teacher in hopes of taking him down before he can let loose another energy burst. The gargant roars in agreement and rushes the necromancer.

Gonzu watches Thorn fall to the necromancers energy burst and launches his Fireball in response. "Don't worry Thorn! We'll get you out of here!!" The Fireball powers into the mages dispersion field, with that much juice in it he can't hope to stop it all.

ronin watched as thron fell. he then got a mad look on his face and attacked the teacher.

Ronin, don't forget your actions. You have Smash now, so may wanna use it in other fights.
Well, the Necromancer Teacher goes down in flames. Not a tough one to call there. Too many people after his blood, too little blood to give. mrgreen

You get the two amulets of spell dispersion that they had equipped.
Looking around the library, you find the job of locating the book has been done for you. These necromancers apparently had a very specific shopping list, and have pulled several books off the shelf and placed them in a large stack on a nearby table. In addition to the book you seek, there are additional titles:
Cross-elementals
The armies of the Golems
The contrasting energies of undeath and returned life
Demons and their peculiar souls
Each book is quite thick and very old, but had been picked from the shelves specifically by the necromancers.
There is a portal that will send you back where you came from if you wish to leave the library immediately.

Gonzu picks up the book they need, as well as the other books, and places them in a sack he makes from some of his ruined robes. "Well then, I suppose we should be moving along then. But just in case something else is going to try and kill us I think we should heal up first. I picked up that spell earlier." He turns to Kitai and casts heal.
He examines Thorn's prone form for a moment before turning to the others. "I'll take all the books, Kitai carry Thorn, Ronin your on point. Let's move out. We can divvy up the spoils once we're out of this hell hole."
((Cast heal with mp from the party pool we haven't touched yet. Just in case we have yet another fight on the way out.))

ronin sheaved his sword. "ok gonzu" he said as he started to walk towards the potal.
((sorry, i kinda forgot i had that. but hey, i'm new and i am learning, whichis good. so i just say i'm using it and i'll use it?))

Kitia throws Thorn over one shoulder and joins the others, "Well then, kin we get goin' now?" She looks around the library, "I've had just a bout enuff o' this, en i'm ready fer me loot."

Entering the portal, you find yourselves back in the central room from which you left. The magical aura here feels... Different though. Looking out from the door that would take you have to the first reading room, you see nothing but the purple crystalline landscape of the interdimensional span.
Someone must have severed the connection. You should be able to find your way back to your world from here, but it may take some walking. The only clue you have to go on is that unless someone had time to move it, the original passage should be somewhere straight ahead, however far away.

Work with me a little here guys...
The interdimensional span is very open, with precious few pieces of terrain breaking up the landscape. It is also a wonderous, but dangerous place, and the black, starry sky hangs overhead. Creatures made of magic, and creatures that feast on magic, are sometimes seen roaming this barren landscape, and you have to try to keep your distance from a one.
You've only been walking for about five minutes when you hear a voice, an old man, in your head.
"And what is it that you want?"
There is no visible source of the sound, but you immediately notice an odd marble cylinder, about two feet high and eighteen inches in diameter, sticking out of the ground in the otherwise purple landscape.

ronin stopped after hearing the voice. "wow, did that pedestal just talk?" he said and looked down at. he then started to walk around it in a circle.
