"Well Some of the turtles" Pausing for a moment, Peony stared out over the water for a moment as she tried to think of animals that she knew lived on both plains. She had just learned this not to long ago on of the days she actually listened to her two-legger ramble on and on. " some snakes, and Lizard.... If I remember correctly even some birds. They stay on land most of the time, the birds that is, but swim in the salty water to catch there food and for exercise. Other birds live close to the water and get there food from the water by diving in catching what they want then flying right bacl out..... Oh there are some litte furry things that live in the water too, and these things called seals"

‘Naci just blinked her eyes up at Peony and listened. Her mind did begin to wander a bit. There were such pretty things to look at. The way the water reflected the sun and made everything seem to spark. The way that the water felt on her even if her mane and tail were going to be ‘cranky” with her later probably. Bah! It’d just be a bad hair day for sure and for certain, eh. “Wait.. Now yer teachin’ me about birds?” ‘Naci hadn’t meant to sound rude to the mare, it was just a sudden switch from turtles to birds. Although the cheeky little things the never ever ever seemed to shut up would be nice to know some information about. The little buggers. Hah. “Will I ever know as much as ye? Or will I jest have ter follow ye around an’ keep learnin’ stuff.” The idea made her want to giggle a bit. It’d be boring just following one person forever and ever.

" Your the one who asked what else lives in both land and water, so its your fault I went to birds" Glancing over at the little one, Peony watched her for a minute. Then began to ponder, what would it be like to have some one follow her all day long. Well....There was absoulately no way that was going to happen. " My two-legger teaches me, I'm sure yours can do the same" Stepping out of the water completely the mare shook herself dry.

“Yeah yeah.. That’s what ye tell me.” ‘Naci winked up at the stallion with innocent eyes before giggling just a bit. She had asked but with her worry over remembering what she was being taught she hadn’t really remembered it. Aely was a young girl, did all other young girls in the land know how to teach other people. Probably and probably not. She had a good change cut it wasn’t a definite and for sure sort of thing. ‘Naci followed her out of the water and began to drip-dry. If she threw water her mane and tail would hiss and smoke.

"So what else would you like to learn about?" Laying down for a moment, the mare rolled over using the bits of grass and dirt on the ground to dry herselff off. " I know about flowers and some plants,hmmm.....otherwise its all things I've learned and its really not that interesting. My two-legger has a tendency just to rant about any thing and everything."

Was there time to learn about more things? Getting out of the water and drying off had brought the filly back to reality if only for a few minutes. Her mother and two-legger would pitch a fit up and down the wall again if she dared to be away from them for too much longer. “I dunno what ter ask about.” She hadn’t been taught about bugs or insects yet, and only some flowers. Even as the desire to learn grew, ‘Naci pranced a bit. What little one enjoyed getting in trouble with their family? Heck, what adult for that matter.

" Your prancing an aweful lot, are you not suppose to be out little one?" Glancing up, Peony slowly turned in a circle till she spotted the sun. Glancing at the sun then in the oppisite direction she tried to determine the time. As normal she never really could determine how long till the sunset. But by the position of the sun it might be soon. " The sun should be setting soon"

‘Naci figured that being honest with the mare would probably be the best policy. Her mother would have her head for being so late out if it was after dark when she returned. “Me mam will hav’ a wee bit o’ a fit when it comes ter me bein’ out an’ about aft’ dark.” ‘Naci wasn’t even six months old… Why would her mother want her running around free as a bird? Shaking her head out before saying, “I think I may have ter take off… Or else I’ll nae make it home before it’s too dark fer mam ter see.” Her hair was bright enough to guide her, but still…

"Alright we should get you back then, from what I heard about mothers they can get quite mad" Nodding softly, the mare tried once again to remember if she had a family. But non the less she remembered nothing. " Your lucky little one, I don't even know if I have a family"

Prancing in pace before picking up a silly walk-trot the little filly simply smiled. “I’m glad ter be headin’ home. Me family is a wonderous thing even if I need alone time.” What would it be like to not have a family? No bed-time.. No curfew… No nuzzling… Bah. For all the bad she could think of several good came to mind. “I’m sure ye do… Ye’ve jest not met ‘em yet aye-aye.”

" I've got a sister but she's not related to me by blood... I hope I have a family.... Perhaps you could teach me now, Tell me about your family" Smiling softly, the mare glanced off towards the setting sun. Her mind wandered as she walked along, she had heard both plus and minus of having parents, a family over all. Good or bad she wanted to experince a family. To know what to do, so she could be a good parent as well.

How did you teach about family? “I dun know how ter teach ye, we jest are…” None of her family was related by blood and that was fine with her, she’d still protect them as such. “There’s lots o’ razzin’ on each other an’ laughin’ an’ jest sometimes there’s naggin’” Her mam was excellent when it came to nagging at her. She continued to walk beside the mare, still prancing to keep up and using the extra energy. “There’s not too much too it ye ken? Jest… bein’ together even when someone drives ye ter distraction.” Talking about them made her feel a bit homesick.. Would Caelen or Harij be home or just her mam?

" Ah I see, do you like having a family with the nagging and all?" Looking over at the little one, Peony nodded softly to herself. It sounded like any other family she had heard of, bascially spended time together the parents teaching and raising the young. Perhaps she didn't need to be in a family to know how to raise a family. "From the looks of you and that my two legger hasn't informed me of any other flaming soquili I'd take it your mother isn't your mother by blood? Do you like having a mom? Or do you not remember what it was like what not to have a mom?"

The filly didn’t even have to think twice about her answer to the first question, “Well o’course I do. That’s why they’re me family after all.” Some people were snooty and believed that the only “good” family was one that was related by blood and of course that all of them were alike in their lines. (whatever that meant) Not ‘Naci.. She was weird, her mom was too, and Caelen.. And Harij was kinda nuts and.. The list went on and on, “No, I was abandoned if ye remember an’ me adopted mam goes by “Lovey Dovey” What a frilly name ter have.” Did she like having a mam.. “I’ve always had her, an’ I love her ter death..”

Its good that she found you, to think some one would leave a little one so small their still in the basket all by themselves" Shaking her mane out as if trying to remove the invisible dust from the thought alone Peony snorted. "And its good that ya love her such a good little one should have a good mother not like a kalona or something that might eat you"
