A psychologist? Well, a student at least. Nonetheless, he'd have to watch himself carefully around Kira. He'd just figured she was especially observant or something. Wonderful.
"I'm not sure exactly who took care of you," he lied smoothly, "but I'll do my best. And I can't say I've heard of solecane, but I'm sure I can bring you some aloe. They should have plenty of that in the medical wing."
He was pretty sure he had an idea of which doctor had 'taken care' of Kira. He'd certainly like a word with him...
He turned his attention back to Kira, ignoring his mind's momentary distraction. "What the...?!?" He laughed loudly, shaking his head with amusement. "Chameleon Woman? Are you sure you didn't hit your head at some point?" he teased, reaching over and tapping Kira's forehead lightly with a wink.

Kira grinned, teasing Hayden back at this point. "If I did, it was sometime when you were carrying me!" She suddenly yawned and attempted to cover her mouth. "Oh, sorry! I guess I'm a little tired from all this excitement. Hayden, if it's still day time, do you mind showing me around the wing where I'm in?"
She was very curious to know about her surroundings. Since she had passed out before even seeing the building from the outside, she had no idea what was on the inside. Putting on her best puppy-dog eyes, she stuck out her lower lip a little and let it tremble. "Pleeeeease?"

Momentarily second-guessing himself, Hayden chuckled. "Nope, sorry. Wasn't me. You're responsible for your own brain damage." It'd been a while since he'd heard honest, good-natured teasing and he thought it sad that it took him time to recognize it.
"Well, I suppose I could..." he drawled slowly, looking away. Why the puppy eyes? How was he supposed to say 'no' to that? He hadn't even seen the pout before he'd turned away. "But seriously, if you're tired, you'll need your rest. I don't mind showing you the important places. We won't go far...and if you start feeling tired, you're coming right back here. Even if I have to carry you again. You hear me, Kira?" He turned a stern eye on the young woman...or at least as stern a look as he could manage while threatening a weak, injured young woman in a hospital bed currently giving him puppy eyes and a quivering lip.
Ah hell, he never had a chance.

Kira's face instantly lost the look when she grinned. She practiced everyday in front of the mirror, so she knew it was good, and the little lip quiver was always a wonderful added touch. She figured that if it was good enough to work on her own mother most of the time, then she'd just about perfected it.
"Ok!" She chirped happily, swinging her legs to the opposite side of the bed and jumping out. Bad move, very bad move. Because of the sudden stress on her legs after being in bed or passed out for goodness knows how many hours, her knees crumpled, sending her to the floor with a very startled squeak from her.
She slowly stood up, laughing a little nervously. "I'm alright! it's all good!" Her legs wobbled a bit, but she managed to stand up straight. "I guess getting to walk around really will be a good thing."

Cursing softly, Hayden hurried to help Kira to her feet. "I knew this was a bad idea," he muttered, frowning. Then, he sighed, shaking his head. "Look, I'll still take you around, but not far. There's a fine line between a little good exercise and overexerting yourself. I don't plan on letting you cross that line, you hear me?"
He also knew how quickly one could feel confined in this place. It was almost enough to drive one mad, so any opportunity to get out and go somewhere was a welcome one.
"There's not many places I can show you anyway. Not much here interesting," he muttered, helping her towards the door, constantly watching to make sure she didn't fall again.

Kira grinned. "Oh, I've crossed that line enough times before. Besides, I'm still recovering, I won't be over doing it... much." She was smiling mischievously, a little glint in her eyes that spelled trouble in all capital letters.
"And won't that be part of the adventure here? Making something interesting out of what little there is here? It's almost like giving me a challenge. In fact, all I'd need is some sidewalk chalk and I'll be having a blast with my room. I find the walls really depressing...." She babbled on, walking through the doors, then sweatdroped. "And this hallway could use some color too... I'm thinking neon pink... or maybe a watermelon red...."

Hayden sighed, shaking his head sadly once more. "You can't keep pushing yourself so hard...it's really going to catch up with you one day..." Like he was one to talk. Though, it wasn't in a physical manner that he kept pushing himself to and past the limit...
Passing through the door, he gave Kira an odd look. "Umm...I'm not sure they'll be too happy about your ideas for redecorating the place." He chuckled softly. "I'm not sure I could walk down a bright pink hallway anyway," he joked. It was good that her spirits were high, however. With the way this place tended to drag one's spirit down, she'd need it. And the ability to keep oneself amused was good too.
"Most of this hallway is just rooms, for either guards, guests like yourself, and so on. The only other places I can think of to show you are the cafeteria and the exercise yard. I'm afraid with all the top secret work going on in the labs, you can only access the hallway and the cafeteria on your own. If you want to go to the exercise yard, you'll have to have an escort. I suppose they don't want anyone wandering about or something. So, where would you like to go first?"

Kira smiled over to him. "Hey, the way I see it, I'd rather physically push myself and mentally push myself. I need my mind, if I'm going to be helping anyone. My friends already use me as a counselor anyways. Physically, however, will probably catch up to me when I'm 60 anyways, so I might as well get everything my heart desires out of life before I hit that marker."
She then let her thought compile over where she wanted to go. "How about the caf? I think I've had enough outdoor time for a day. Can I call you to escort me tomorrow, though? You're nice" She smiled happily, back to her oblivious personality.

Heh...to each their own life philosophy.
"Alright, cafeteria it is. It's located on the dormitory wing itself, so you don't have to worry about getting an escort to leave the hallway to get there. You're free to go whenever you'd like or feel up to it. Until then, remember, you can use the intercom to just call for anything you need."
He fell silent for a bit, simply leading her down the hallway as he debated on how to answer her last question. Slightly embarrassed, he reached up with his free hand to rub his neck nervously. "Well, I never know when I'm going to get called to do something, so I can't guarantee whether I'll be free or not, but if I am, I suppose you could always just call and ask the intercom operator." Rambling again. But...nice? No, he wasn't nice. He was conflicted, yes. That word was appropriate, but not 'nice.' It wouldn't be long before Kira joined the ranks of the others who hated him and wished only for his suffering and dea--
'That's enough of that sort of thought. Take what you can get for now and worry about that bridge when you come to it, fool.'
"So, tomorrow then? Maybe. I could show you the exercise yard then, even if you won't be using it for a while," he chuckled weakly.

Kira nodded and smiled. "Alright. It would be good to know where I"ll be hanging out tomorrow. Erm, you wouldn't happen to have some SPF 15 sunscreen here, would you? I've already gotten enough of a sunburn, thank you very much!"
She then put a thoughtful finger to her lip. "You know how I could come across a few more sets of clothes? I really don't think anyone wants me going around in these clothes every day.... and maybe some deoderent and some tooth paste...."
She knew something had changed in Hayden's mind, and she hadn't dismissed it from her mind, but rather stored it in her memory. Something was wrong, almost fake about his happy demeanor, and occasionally it showed through. His laugh was the window this time, it was only half hearted. She wasn't going to press for the reason, but she was going to keep a watchful eye on him.

Hayden smirked in answer. "I don't know where to get you all those things, personally, but I know how you can get them. The magic intercom," he quipped, winking. "I tell ya', easiest thing in the world. There's little they can't get you and all you have to do is ask. Of course, if it's something tricky, ya' might have to wait a few days 'til they have have it flown in, but they keep all the basics around here."
Reaching the double doors to the cafeteria, he pushed them open to reveal the stereotypical 'lunch line' set-up with a variety of tables, most empty at this time of day. "Not much to look at, I know, but the food's not half-bad," he commented with a smirk.

Kira's eye lit up at the mention of 'little they can't get you'. "SWEET!" She threw her hands up in the air. "Keep Fridays open, cause there's ganna be a party in my room! Complete with Beer-pong and darts!"
Looking around the caf and slowly lowering her arms with a nervous laugh, she shrugged. "Well, I figure as long as the food here isn't going to have a 50% or more chance of giving me food poisoning, I'll take here versus home and college any day. With my Grandma, it's the risk of her mixing up ingredients, with my mom, it's the fact that she just can't cook, and with college.... well, nothing is really recognizable anyways...."

If Hayden could have had an anime sweatdrop moment, he would have. "Err...beer-pong and darts?" Chuckling softly, he shook his head. She was a spunky one, that much was sure. "Sounds...'interesting'," he commented, unsure of what else to say to the idea. Would they actually get her things like that? He had no idea.
"Oh, trust me, it's much better than anything you'll get in any college," he winked, laughing. He remembered his own college experience and yeah, if nothing else, this place beat his old college caf. "It's no gourmet restaurant, but it's definitely not going to kill you, so no worries. I recommend getting here early if they make pizza. It goes fast."

Kira was grinning and laughing again. "You better come, Hayden! It'll be so much fun! I challenge you to darts! Oh, and I need to get a music list and some stereo equipment...."
The words 'pizza' and 'get here early' suddenly brought fire to her eyes. "If they serve pizza, I'm so mud wrestling people for it. And I will totally win! I may only weigh 130, but I know how to move it around!" She winked back at him.

It was just one surprising thing after another. Hayden raised an eyebrow curiously as Kira continued to rattle. For the love of Lugia...could this really be the same young woman who had hovered so close to death not long ago? You certainly couldn't tell it now, even if she was clinging to Hayden's side just to walk.
'Bet we could power the whole lab if we could tap into that energy,' he thought with a bemused smile.
"I see...well, I know I said to get here early, but I don't think you'll have to wrestle anyone for the pizza. They just stop cooking it after a while and won't start the ovens up again. And even if there is any left, personally, I'd prefer hot pizza over cold. I know some people might like cold pizza though..." Okay, rambling again, but who cared?
