If Natsuki had the upper body strength, she would have thrown Chloe over her shoulder and ran into the back room. Instead, she navigated thr crowd with her friend in tow. She didn't even need to think twice about what she would put on the birthday girl. A long, flowy gown of white silk and crepe would look perfect with Chloe's complexion. Matched with the right accesories, Chloe would certainly be the belle of her ball.
"Hey Chloe, would you mind wearing your hair down this evening? I think it would look best with the dress I have in mind?" Natsuki said, opening the door and pointing to the manequin in the corner. The gorgeous white dress simply awaited to be worn, and the matching accessories were laid out on a dressing table nearby.
"I hope you like it, Chloe," Natsuki said, biting her lip nervously. Taking a seat on the bed, she picked up the towel from her bag and held it out. "Just wash up and then we'll get you dressed to thrill!"

Amaris watched the party and quickly became more and more cowed. Worse, she could not see Gage in all of this. Had he wandered off somewhere else? Well, maybe he was in the bathroom... oh wait.
Debating leaving again, she heard footsteps behind her; tensing up, she turned and saw a man. He clearly had a lower body, which was slightly disappointing. And a weird hat. Nevertheless, seeing her opportunity for filtering in, she quickly approached him, grabbed his arm, and grinned cheerily up at him.
"Great party, isn't it?" She beamed, and began to steer them inside, not noticing the other person approaching and not really caring. He, whoever he was, no longer had any choice in the matter. "Wait 'till you taste the food, it's divine!"
Oh yeah. She was totally hip to this whole party thing. They had better watch out.

"Kyou?! Aw ya lil slu'-- Hey!" Ravi was gone before he could finish complaining. The Huichol leaned over the counter to get a better look at the entrance door. He hesitated in going over, mainly because he didn't know the man and err... he was unsure of what Kyou would think of him after the lab incident this morning. So he stayed behind the bar and guzzled down the rest of his drink.

Chloe gave a small gasp at the elegant gown, eyes wide. "O-Oh.. I.. I c-couldn't wear th-that.. I-It's so..." But despite her protests she was drawn into Natsuki's undeniable excitement. The other woman's happiness and cheer was catchy, and Chloe reached for the towel shyly.
"Thank you..." For a moment her expression looked slightly pinched, her eyebrows coming up together. She quickly burried her face in the towel and took a few deep breaths. Everything was alright. She scrubbed at her face for a moment and when she pulled away the towel was full of soot.
"I.. I suppose I was a bit.. worse off than I th-thought.." She looked sheepish.

"Tyson..." Echoed a moan at the entrance of the apartment building, "I think we made a wrong turn. Please, just give me the invite. Maybe you just aren't reading the directions right." Lillian told the smaller figure that was in the process of bouncing all around her.
The ball of energy Lillian was directing her attention to suddenly made a quick swerve on their heel. A toothy grin crossed their brightened features as large hazel eyes glinted in the dim lights, "I think I'm doing good! This is the right place! See? Swanky decorations only a party like this could have!" Tyson cried, throwing his arms up, into the air. His hands continuing to miraculously hold onto the packages in the process.
Even though he was positive that this place was where they had to go, Tyson handed his sister the invite anyway. The eight year-old knew that if he didn't, surely a long and boring lecture would be the ending result. Unknown to Lillian, Tyson had been right. He had followed the directions very clearly and had led them into the right building. The two might not have known it, but they were closing in on the party with every step they took. Of course, those steps had to remain in the right direction for them to reach their destination.
The young woman glanced down at the small invite that her younger brother had handed to her. She flipped the card around so it was in the right direction, and opened it. Lillian made sure no detail was left unread as her eyes scanned the data displayed on the card. Hmm...it seemed they actually were in the right place! Maybe Tyson was good at following directions. Of course, if that was true,it only applied to when the boy was concerned about reaching a party...
As they walked on towards the place where the party was being held, Lil recalled how she received the invite. Well...she didn't actually "receive it", in better words, Tyson found it on the ground. To find such a thing on the ground had at first made Lil dismiss the idea that it was for them. While she had been ridding such a "farfetched" thought, Tyson had opened up the invite and immediately begged to go. When Lil had taken the card away and looked at the names of the birthday participants she recognized the name Chloe Star.
Well...so the invite was for them! The snobs that lived in the surrounding houses could never know such a sweet young women. How it ended up on the ground, hidden partically in the dirt beside their giant gate didn't matter anymore. The thoughts of good gifts for the young miss had swallowed up all other questions.
Though, to have been so excited for the party back then, Lil sure wasn't showing it now. To an onlooker, she looked sluggish and bugged. In reality, the young lass was pleased to be going to such a relaxed party. Yet, she wasn't at all happy to be feeling so achy. There had been a large number of deliveries the two had to make recently and it was becoming a drain. How Tyson remained in his usual tip-top shape and happy-happy attitude after such long and hard days; was a trait Lillian must have skipped that he had gotten instead. Such a thing would surely wind up on the Health Channel one day...
A sudden screech of rubber from the bottom of Tyson's shoes awoke Lillian from her mind's rambling. "Tyson...slow down!" She cried seeing a black streak across the once shining floor behind where Tyson was now standing.
"Tyson! You just scuffed up the floor! Oh...what to do! Come on! We'll clean it up later..." Lillian managed to grumble as she quickened her walking pace. In the process of their speedy get-a-way, Lil's strong hand came down to rest on one of Tyson's shoulders as she pushed him forwards. Luckily for Lil, she had brought her presents in gift bags so it was a little easier for her to handle Tyson.
With that, the two troublemakers made their way to where the party was being held. Upon arrival, the two stared up at the sign that had been placed on the door with two different expressions. Tyson, the obviously most rambunctious of the two, was grinning from ear to ear. While Lillian, the sorest of them all, had her brows arched in question. "So....we just...go in? Just like that?" Lillian asked, her question directed to herself rather than Tyson.
"Guess so! Come on you big old slowpoke!" Tyson cried with enthusiam as he leaped forward and pushed the door open. With all his quick lurches that moved in all directions, it was a miracle that the gifts inside the box and the bag remained in one piece. "Tyson! Don't just barge in!" Lil yelped in sudden surprise, reaching forwards and taking a hold of Tyson's jacket collar, "Be good..." She spoke to him with a growl, leading him into the new room and towards the gift tables. Once they had entered, Tyson was busy looking all around the room, the lights and all the people distracting him from the task at hand. His pace had actually slowed for once so he could take in the new atmosphere.
Well..it slowed for a few moments. Soon Tyson was right back on track with his speeding conversation,(if one could call it even that)"Look Lil! A Pinata! Right? Am I right? It's that, right? Oh! Look! Drinks! Look! I want a lemonade! Oh! Can I have one of those treats? Hey! Those rae...rae...bah! It's the superheroes again! Look at all the people too! Wow!" Tyson babbled, pointing his free hand all about after he had placed one of the gifts down at the specific table. What a difference this party was from all the rest he had attended in the past. At this one, there were games, fancy lights, tons of tasty looking treats, and he didn't even have to wear a tux! Also...the beings he had begun to adore were at this birthday celebration. "I have to go say Hi! Gimme some time to say Hi!" Tyson reminded his sister as they walked over to the other table to drop off their other gifts.

"Well, I am just thankful nothing happened to you." Natsuki said, walking over to the manequin and unzipping the dress. While Chloe cleaned up, Natsuki had laid out all the necessary items Chloe would need to make the outfit sell. "Everything you need is here. I'll stand guard outside while you change. Just tell me when you need me to zip you up."
Natsuki wasn't sure how comfortable Chloe would be changing while she was in the room. Taking a step outside the door, Natsuki leaned against the door frame to keep any would be peepers out. A satisfied smile crossed her lips as more people, including the other guest de jour, made appearances at the party.
"Bless Dr. Kyou," she sighed, looking at the good doctor's attempt to cope with his new hairstyle. "Good God, I would love to play with his hair...."

Chloe nodded to Natsuki, turning to the garments as the door shut behind her. She cleaned up as best as she could, using a sink in the adjacent bathroom to make sure every bit of soot and dirt was wipped clean off of her. She couldn't quite shower, but this would do. Her hair wasn't that bad, anyway.
Timidly she let it down from it's constant, professional up position, letting it fall down about her shoulders. She found a brush and made careful work, straightening the snarls.
Behind her Parfait chirruped and whirred over the silky garments. She'd landed on the bed and waddled over to the dress. After finding it to her liking she'd promptly lain down on it.
Eventually Chloe had to shoo her off to pick up the gorgeous dress, finding the fabric soft as well as silky. Carefully she found her way into each piece of clothing Natsuki had lain out for her. All that was left was the zipper, and for that she knocked softly on the door she knew Natsuki would be behind, calling out softly.
"Ah.. Natsuki.. I-I'm ready f-for the zipping..."

Hearing Chloe's rapping on the door, she entered again with a brilliant smile on her lips. Chloe looked better than she imagined, with the dress complimenting her petite figure perfectly. The smile on Natsuki's face was a clear indication that she was not only thrilled, but totally ready for Chloe's debut. Walking over she zipped the dress up, fastening the clasp at the top so as not to catch in her friend's hair.
Putting a little mousse in her hands, she rubbed them together and then glided her fingers through Chloe's hair, giving it just the right amount of control and bounce, making the outfit sizzle. Looking over Chloe's shoulder from behind, Natsuki sighed. She missed dressing people up in costume like she did when in the Durem University Theatre Department. Chloe's great skin required just the slightest hints of shimmer and shine, and in a seconds, Miss Star was ready to make her grand entry.
"You look fantastic, Chloe," Natsuki giggled, putting the last bits of makeup in her travel case. "Now let's get back there and party! Drinks are on the house tonight!"

Chloe looked down at herself nervously just once before she nodded and took a shy breath. She stepped out through the doorway, blinking slightly as she stood beside Natsuki in the slightly trailing elegant gown.
She felt self conscience standing for everyone to see.. she wasn't used to wearing such fine clothing as this. The most expensive and dressy she'd ever worn was the kimono, and that hadn't made her feel nearly half as feminine as this dress did.

"Take your time, Chloe." Natsuki said, giving her friend a sideways hug. Her gray eyes sparkled with mischief, knowing that Chloe would be getting drunk at lightning speed if We`rika was mixing the drinks. She figured Julian could use some alcohol pumping as well. Catching sight of Dr. Kyou near the door she beamed with relief. "I'll go ask We`rika to mix up some drinks. What would you like?"Natsuki asked, almost like she was being paid for it. "Something fruity, flirty, and fun?"

"Oh..." Chloe was comforted by the contact, and the perplexed with the question. "I.. I don't know.. m-m-maybe could you decide f-for me..? I don't.. I've never d-drank before." The last words were a soft whisper.
She also spotted Kyou, happy to see him here. Perhaps the party would do to cheer him up as well as herself.

Kyou just raised his head at the mention of his name when someone grabbed him off all of a sudden. He haven't had any time to respond as he was being pulled away into the party.
"O.. okay" he managed to mutter as his footsteps caught up with the unfamiliar girl that was grabbing onto him, trying to balance the large chef hat too.
Turning his gaze towards his 'partner', he noticed that the girl had some black wings on her back. Such weird people exists on this world, including him. Kyou thought uneasily as he stretched his tail uncomfortably, one hand still holding onto the chef hay because it seemed like it's going to fall out very soon.

Ravi's stroll towards the Doctor was intercepted, however, by a sight far more attractive than the tufts of a smoke-ridden 'fro. A vision in white stood by an exit on a wall adjacent to the one Kyou had walked in through. Though she looked much different than usual, and certainly much different than when she had first entered the lobby, Ravi knew at once that the pink-haired young woman standing before him now was none other than Chloe, the receptionist who had delivered his fel essence to him a few months back. She looked beautiful! Ravi felt at ease looking at the expression on Chloe's face, a mix between happiness and shyness, that made her appear positively innocent and... dare he think it... sweet.
Since he knew quite well it was rude to stare, Ravi approached Chloe and smiled faintly once he was at her side. "Happy birthday," he said. " I do hope you're having a good time."

"Leave it to me then!" she beamed, drifting away in a flurry of light blues and finally coming to a hault by We`rika. Leaning on the table, Natsuki wiggled her eyebrows, as it had been a while since she mixed drinks. We`rika had vanished to the gods know where, but she was certain he'd most likely be up to no good. Knowing that Chloe hadn't drank before, Natsuki mixed up a pair of Cranberry Martinis, garnished with fresh cranberries. Slipped out from beind the drink table, she returned with a smile.
"Here you are, Chloe," Natsuki said, holding the glass out to her friend. "It's a cranberry martini, and I went light on the alcohol, so it should be just enough to unwind with."
Natsuki admitted to herself that she did a fantastic job, embellishing Chloe's naturally beautiful looks. As she waited she caught sight of Dr. Kyou, fighting with his chef hat. Giving him a kind smile and a playful wink, she raised her glass and toasted her friends, "Happy Birthday, Chloe," Natsuki grinned, before turning her attention toward Kyou. "Happy birthday, Dr. Kyou," she called out, toasting him as well.

Amaris privately smirked. Abduction - and infiltration - successful! Feeling a little less apprehensive with a hostage by her side, she then proceeded to ignore him in favor of taking a closer look at the party. "Holy moly, look at all the drinks!" She said aloud, boggling at the bar. "And the fancy little foods! Oh man, is that a pinata?!" She began to walk towards it, but stopped herself. She was, after all, in a sea of strangers, and this man on her arm was her lifesaver. She made the wise decision and restrained herself... a little.
"Very nice party," she repeated, patting Kyou's arm contentedly. Then, realizing that there was, after all, a person attached to this arm, she looked up and beamed again. "I'm Amaris!" She said, finally introducing herself. "You --" Oh, someone had said something to him. They had called him... "You're a doctor?" She asked immediately. Oh man, a doctor. She'd probably be subjected to medical jargon for the rest of the night. Quickly she began to consider whether it would be less painful to throw herself into the sea or be rescued into a boat full of nerds.
While she was thinking, she continued to talk, which was probably more of a bad idea than she thought it would be. "That girl by her is very pretty," she commented idly, looking at Chloe. When was the last time she wore a dress like that? "This is a birthday party, isn't it? Is that the birthday girl?" Remembering the first rule of birthday parties, she glanced at her other arm, where she was carrying the Box of Mysterious Contents. She hoped she had at least managed to stuff something nice in there. She couldn't open it now to peek, that would require letting go of Kyou and like hell she was going to do that.
Glancing up at him again, she noticed the bits of frizz poking out from underneath his weird hat. Well um.
