Lanx poked Drake twice, "What is a 'Xarik'? When are we leaving? Kelina?" he looked at her with big eyes, "What's a 'Xarik'?" he said, not knowing it was a name. He didn't understand the concepts of the English language very well.

Kelina sighed and explained. "Xarik is the name of the person who killed Gaiatoff, and we are leaving right now to find him, and give him a taste of his own medicine." She wondered if she would have to explain what she meant by that, or if Lanx would grasp the context of the message.

Lanx understood that it was a figure of speech but not what it meant. He doubted the man was sick. Because he killed Gaiatof. Unless Gaiatof had the medicine he needed and wouldn't give it to him. But still, it seemed unlikely, "What does his own medicine taste like?" he asked finally, wondering if the answer would tell him what it meant.

"It tastes like steel..." says Drake, smirking a bit and beginning to leave.

Lanx nodded and followed after him. He knew what steel tasted like. It tasted a bit like copper, with more smoothness to it. And it tasted very much like blood. Lanx knew all three of these tastes very well.

Kelina sighed. Apparently she would have to explain it. "We're going to enforce the Golden Rule on Xarik. We're going to do to him what he did to Gaiatof." Even Lanx couldn't miss the meaning of that. She wanted Lanx to understand what exacty they were going to do to Xarik, rather than surprising the poor guy with it when they found him. That way, if Lanx had any objections to the idea, he wouldn't have to participate.

Lanx understood. But he found it fun to be difficult, "Copper, steel, gold. What is with all this talk about metal lately?"

"Lanx, are you SURE you're a mechanic?" asks Drake, shaking his head. He was almost shocked that such a simple kid made such good inventions...

Lanx nodded with a grin, "I can't help it! I was born this way!" he shrugged. He was made to deal with machinery. But not with simple everyday things. That's just how it worked.

"Fine by me," Kelina said, heafting the sack once more. She was more than ready for revenge, and the sooner they found and killed the b*****d who ahd murdered Gaiatof, the better she would feel.

Kelina sighed as she shrugged off her protective cloak.Being a vampiress, she needed the hooded cloak to protect her from the sun. She would also need blood fairly shortly, though she still had a few days before it became a critical issue.

He sets up a tent and a campfire as quickly as he could, then he sat in front of the fire...

Lanx rolled on his back and stared into the fire. It reminded him of the lames he saw at Gaiatof's house. they were climbing, and engulf. Yet beautiful in hypnotic. He couldn't explain wha he was feeling inside. It was overwheling. Somethig was missing from him. He couldn't explain it. Gaiatof was never coming back. He was gone. Dancing into nothingness, like the flames.
Lanx clutched his chest, his mind tried to comprehend the situation. Death was hard for him to understand. The killing of someone innocent was even harder. He didn't know what this emotion was. Had he ever felt it before? He couldn't recall. But water was flowing from his eyes, and his breathing was short. He was in pain. But not on the outside. Something different had scarred him. Something deeper than a weapon could havve
And it had taken him this long to realize it.
