Darin Rosewood It wasn't that much of a problem with Christianity, since non-Christians weren't suddenly declaring themselves High Priests, Popes, etc. With Wicca, everyone's a priest, and these self-proclaimed uberpriests--who were never a part of the religion to begin with--are telling the masses that anyone can join in anytime they want. Telling the masses that anyone can join into the Reformed non-initiatory Wicca, more like. Which I think is quite nice. Means there's going to be a lot of cunts about, but a fair amount of inclusiveness is alright. Darin Rosewood Not only that, but Christianity didn't keep secret the information needed to practice the religion. Wicca does. Why? Also, didn't Gardner (who was part of the religion, I think you'll agree) sort of break that "keeping-secret" thing? And didn't Buckland do the same? Darin Rosewood Without the Mysteries (access to which can only be gained through initiation/proof thereof), it'd be like trying to have a Christian Mass with no Communion or Lord's Prayer. Why can't everyone have access the the Mysteries?

Alrighty kid here's the deal.
I'm going to tell it to you straight and not sugar coat a thing.
Your mom CARES about you. I know you're like "Gasp! OMG NAH SHE HATES ME!" No. Kid. She cares. She cares enough in her mind to save you from eternal pain and suffering. She doesn't know the difference. She doesn't need to. In her mind, the only thing that's the right thing to do is keep you with the lord so you'll have the same kind of eternity in peace she will.
You're probably like "Nah! She hates me" Still. Lets take this from a different approach. Put yourself in your mom's place. Think of yourself as Wiccan. You have a beautiful daughter who you've raised right from the start and now she comes to you with all these Christian book talking about the hatred for witches and the hatred for all things you believe in. (Again Wicca is not that but thats in her mind we're talkin about) What would you do? Please don't say "I'd let her read it." No. You'd be scared for her and take away her things too.
Now as for other things.
If you can't spell Priestess. Then you probably shouldn't be one.
I think you should persue a more financially secure dream. For example I'm going to be a doctor and own a psychic shop that way I can heal not only physically but spiritually too.
I think you have your head in the clouds still about Wicca and what it truly is. You need to wait for a while. Go back to Christianity for a while and let her resume thinking you're a christian girl before you begin thinking about being in a Neo-Pagan religion again.
Once you do that... I'll let you in on secrets and hiding places for your crap ^ ^;
Don't say I don't know it. Because I've been in a worse spot. How about believing that you're gonna be haunte by demons because your grandma tells you?

Naturally, my thoughts turned to you. So, how are you? Actually, to tell you the truth, I really don't care how you are. For all I care, you could be covered in ticks, pan handling for Pound in Hong Kong. But I thought I'd ask just to be polite. Remember all those Budweiser cans you tossed under the sofa during those football games you used to watch with your beer guzzling, hair-growing-on-their-knuckles buddies? Guess what. I recycled them all, and bought a your favorite car with the money I got. The rest I stashed away into a portfolio of mutual funds. And that's not all. Remember those scummy thongs you always left under the bed? That's right. Turns out, they grew a new form of mold that cures Herpes. I just received the patent yesterday. Now i'm no expert in Wicca (Me psion) but if what Iolitefire says is true, that you don't need Items for wiccan practices, then it can be done! just take every opportunity you can to squeeze in practices. No one I know IRL knows i'm a psion, i've been able to keep that a secret for about 3 years now and causing no suspicion whatsoever(^^)
(Yes I know that Psionics are quite different from Wicca, but i'm just trying to prove a point here)

(No i didnt read the whole topic, just the first page, so this might alredy have been said)
My advice is dont tell anybody anything... Why? 1. What they dont know they cant question, 2. If they dont know, they wont be thinking about checking u for it.
As for burning ur stuff... yeah thats a b***h, My mum destoryed a ouija board fridge magnet i got off ebay (yes.. she smashed up a fridge magnet because she thorght it was evil.. So, ignore the serial killers, Ignore terrorism, and keep your eyes peeled for killer magnets)
If i was you, ide just wait it out, if she foreces you, continue to go 2 church, u dont have to pay attension or listen or care, but at least itl stop her complaining, and just do things in secret (do u have a lock on ur door, If not, buy 1 from a DIY store, (O god i said store.. ive been listening to to many americans..) and just put it at the very top or bottom so she dosent see it eaisly. or keep a screwdriver and screw the big bit on and off when u need it, so aslteast u dont have the risk of her bardgeing in

I love to mess with my mother. She is a devout christian and I have led her all around the subject and I even made her do things herself and then at the end of it all I told her it was magick and she locked herself in her room for a while it was funny. She came out of the whole mess still christian, but she reaps the benefits of magick without calling it magick. She calls it the holy spirit ha ha ha gosh I'm so devious twisted

AngelOfPermenetDeath I am a 15 year old who only wants to learn more about the wiccan religion but my mother is a strict christian. I convinced her like my friends told me to but when i did she yeld at me to bring everything upstairs so I did as I was told, She burned it all infront of my very eyes... Now my mother makes sure i dont go anywhere with out her or my dad if she thinks I am up to something "suspitious" she drags me to the nearest Church.... What is wrong with me just wanting to be myself. When I get older I want to run my own Animal rescue shelter and become a High Preastess Of Magick in a coven of my own ^_^ But how can I continue my studies when my mother wont even let me go outside to get the mail? I mean I cant meditate I cant even take peacful walks and just let the wind run wildly through my hair? I will never reach my dream is my mom never lightens up. What do I do can anyone help me is there a way I can undo this whole thing, its been going on for the past 4 years! Merry ye part^_^ merry meet. i wondeer have you ever tried explaining that wiccan spells and such are just our version of prayer? most christians are so set in their ways, that nothing youo say will make a difference. everyone else who has posted is right. your mother may be able to control what happens in your physical life, but she cannot change or control what is in your heart and soul blessed be and may the great mother watch over you
