Miss Murdered razzledazzle5160 IceintheInk Hmmm.... When you actually think about it's kinda hard to decide what I actually want to fight for. I get these newsletters every now and then about LBGT news.. apparantly there are some anti-hate crime laws coming in but Christian groups are protesting them.. ******** knows why... I guess they don't want to get sent to jail the next time they decide to attack and murder some poor gay dude. Anyway.. if I could, I would fight for those laws to go through. Yeah same with me, there is so much I want to change, but it's hard to exactly catagorize it. You can't change everything...we need to focus on one thing at a time. IceintheInk had a good idea. Those laws need to go through. Well yeah, but if people focused on their true passion, we'd eventually have everything covered, you know what I mean? Ice- Yeah I bet it is hard, you see so much going on in a place you don't even belong and you still want to do something about it. That's how I feel about many other countries. Really, I think America is fortunate, going under, but still way more fortunate than other countries. I want to help other people just as much, if not more than America. In America, we have money and the power to vote in our officials, in other countries, they don't have that freedom so I'd want to help them rebel and protest I guess. I guess my true passion is human rights.

Well we definantly have more political freedoms than many other places. And true, not all can completely vote, like us for example for a few years. I don't like the idea of the electoral collages either.

I also don't like how America insists on calling itself a Democracy when it is clearly a Democratic Republic, or for people like me, just a Republic, to see how many people become angry at that.

QFE!! A democracy is where everyone runs everything first hand. A republic is where people elect officials and they represent us. I don't really find the term "Representative Democracy" fitting. confused

I think it's funny how in the past, we've stomped all over Europe trying to defend "democracy", when we don't even have it ourselves.

So your trying to say its hypocritical? kinda like john corzine (NJ Gov [my gov]) not wearing a seat belt and getting in a car accident? (sorry I had to add that)

I just realized something. "Communism" isn't really a type of government but a type of government market system. I think a more appropriate option would be "Socialism." >_>

It is not a type of government. It's an economic system. But you know, sometimes I get so into argueing my point that I forget exactly WHAT I am argueing in the first place... I don't think the correct term would be socialism, since that is ALSO an economic system, but perhaps if you were to have the full-package communist political and economic systems, the political system could be called socialism. I mean, you can have democracy and a communism. That would be the ideal society, pretty much. Canada is socialist but they're political system isn't socialist. I think that's what I've been trying to get at the whole time but have never said it. Wow. I wasted so much time.

I just realized that eek I haven't read that book, but I've heard about it, and what I've heard of it is that it's a kind of messed-up society like in Fahrenheit 451, but not quite. Where everyone is equal...now that's kind of the "fear" that's going on, where really communism is everyone is ECONOMICALLY equal. You don't have to all think the same way. Nothing will progress if that is the case.

True, but for instance, look at what Stalin did to the orthodox church in Russia (when it was the Soviet Union) he took it away because he thought it was in a way brain washing them. He took it away so that there was no religion. he wanted them to think the same way as him without the church getting in the way. He wanted communism.

Er...I also kind of think the church is brainwashing, but I'll keep my opinions out of this. Stalin really screwed it up. But he wasn't really communist. He just kind of thought he was. And I guess I can kind of see his reasoning behind that because religion sometimes encourages people to be lazy, in a way.
