The elven merc nodded enthusiastically at Clavian's words, about to say something when she found herself rudely interrupted by another elf who appeared to be under the mistaken impression he could hurt Smiley.
Aria's pretty smile morphed into a frown so frightening that there was a baby duckling somewhere getting upset that someone had replaced it as 12th most un-intimidating thing on the planet. Crossing her arms, she looked at the boy currently dusting himself off, the beads in her hair clicking to emphasize the angry shaking of her head.
"You be nice to my friend. You hurt his feelings, I'll be forced to hurt you!"
The woman reached up and patted Smiley's massive bicep with a comforting smile before looking back at the boy.
"You can come if you like, but I don't think it's going to be much fun. Unless the flames spread."
She gave a tiny little giggle, rubbing her hands together.
"Then we might be in business..."
Suddenly there was a flurry of wings in the square, and Aria looked back at the commotion with a frown. Seemed like that damned Avariel was causing trouble again. Well, she and Smiley had been paid to help stop the man.
"Be right back fellas. Gotta see a man about completing a contract..."

Conner nods as her and Smile run off and looks at Clavian "Shes realy protective of that troll aint she? confused ..."

Xandra followed the boy, staring at her feet. She glanced around, seeing that there were other people here. The boy couldn't kill her in public, could he? She quickly crossed that out, remembering how he killed that fat man without touching him.
She stopped as a winged elf landed in front of them he and the boy exchanged a few harsh words then drew their weapons. Xandra bit her lip and backed up a little, trying to stay out of the way, should a fight start up.

Aria trotted into the open square, drawing an arrow from her quiver and fitting it to the longbow. The Avariel had landed, and was facing off with a...boy? A child! Alarmed, Aria rushed forward angrily with the arrow aimed for the winged elf's head.
"You! Avariel! Drop the weapon!"
Stopping a little behind the boy, and still facing Damien, she glared down the arrow's shaft. Good thing for him her contract was to take the fellow unharmed, or she'd have shot him on principle. Trying to hurt a poor little boy! The outrage of it! Still, at least the Captain would be pleased to see she'd held up her end of the bargain.

Clavian leaned on his staff, watching with a smirk as some new kid made a fuss about Smiley before falling flat on his face; he barely came to the giant's waist, the gods alone knew what he though he was doing...
Adjusting his cloak about himself, Clavian ambled over as the newcomer spoke to him
"Aye, that she is, lad. A word of advice in your ear though; never enter an arse-kicking contest with a porcupine."
He jabbed a thumb towards Smiley as he wandered after Aria.
"That there is 7ft and a quarter-ton of solid muscle, and will turn you into a greasy smear on the floor without thinking, and even if he decided not to, the young lady there... young lady there..."
His voice trailed away as he glanced to point out Aria, just as she loaded her bow.
Oh Gods...

"You elf are going to leave the circle or end up being killed in the clash. This here is my student, hes testing for his rank." he said with no emotion.
Gale slightly anoyed at this interuption. "Can i just kill her and we can be on our way. Not like she'll take any energy." Gale said arogantly.
"If she doesnt head my warning 'I' will remove her not you Gale. you are still my student and you will follow directions as they revolve around your test."

Xandra considered just running there and then, but the boy would probably pick her up and throw her around until she died, without even turning around. She backed up and lenaed against a building, deciding there was no use in fighting the inevitable. As a rich man ran by, trying to get away from the two armed people, she instinctively grabbed the fat pouch that hung from his waist. she grinned at the sound of coin jingling and shoved it into her pocket.

Conner gets upset over the fact that he's being tolled the truth about him against Smile and yells out "HEY! I'm nearly as tall as he is, plus I'm no doubt quicker! And I..."in mid sentence he stops and notices Clavian get a worried look on his face and says "W-whats wrong?..." then he looks at Aria and over hears Gale ask to kill her (Elf ears hear realy well) then he runs out and stops infront of Damien "No 1 is dieing here today, got it?" he yells with an angry glare. Conner's voice gets a little more calm "Now, if you guys could take your test somwhere else, i'm sure everything will be a hell of a lot easier.".

The woods elf gave a smile that was almost apologetic in nature, but did not lower the weapon, holding her stance even as the odd boy who smelled of fish ran over to inter space himself between her and the target.
"Look, I'm just following the contract here. Captain Falloner hired me on to take you in."
Eyes the color of grass in summer flicked between the Avariel and the small child. By their words, there was more going on here than she knew. Then again, if they wore each other down with this test of theirs, it'd make her job easier when it came to rounding up the bounty.
"But as my business is not with the child, I can wait till your...test...is completed."
Slowly, she lowered her bow and lessened the tension on the string. Perhaps it was due to the weight of her experiences, of perhaps as a long-living elf she was unconcerned with wasting time, but it seemed the archer could be patient when she chose. Quirking a cheeky grin, she swept a courtly bow with one arm flung wide, then moved aside to let them have their fight.

The two blademasters stood staring at each other for awhile. Niether of them moving an inch. When it seemed like niether would make the first move Gale lost patience and bolted at the averial with amazing speed to attack Damien who in turn moved quikly to barly blook his attack. gale then spun around for a second slice again parried by damien. the two kept trading blows and blocks for some time the grace, speed, and power behind the attacks amazed the onlookers. Any who knew anything of swordsmanship understood that one mistake in this fight means one of them dies, and fast. The beuty of the battle was something of dreams. Only those with years of training could see who was winning, but those two did, and Gale reveled in it.

As Conner, Smiley, and Aria walked off to wait for the test to end Conner looks over at Aria "You do know that if this battle gets to intense...People could get hurt...Or even die...What will we do then?...And even if they don't...You may lose your contract if the Averial gets harmed..."

A small smile spread over her features at his words, and she glanced back briefly at the battle, hesitation breaking her stride. They were good; she could see now that a ranged weapon was necessary to defeat them, as there was no way she could match their skill with a blade. She'd have one shot, and it had better count. As she moved, she answered the elven stranger's question absently.
"Everyone is off putting out the fires; there's none but us close enough to be involved. If the Avariel is hurt, that makes my job easier. Weakened, he'll be easier to take in. If he is killed, the same stands."
That smile turned on her companions, no longer just that of an attractive, air-headed woman. There was a slick coating of cunning in her green gaze, and it became apparent to the group that there was more intellect behind that pretty face than she let on.
"And this way I may glean an idea of where his skills and weaknesses lie."

Conner gave a uncertaine glare towards the battle as he watched them fight and quietly says "If you say so... stare ", while the battle is happening Conner takes off another wine bottle from his belt and starts to drink it, after taking a swig he says "Ahhh....Still taste like Orc crap..." then he poors it into the street.

Now! Xandra turned and dashed full-speed down a side street, quickly leaving her captor as he engaged in a battle with his master. She lept upwards, gaining tremendos height, and grabbed the edge of the roof of a building, pulling herself up. She knew there was nobody following her, but she wanted to put as much distance between her and the pair of killers as she could. She lept to another rooftop and sat down, only showing slight signs of being tired.

Conner notices Xandra escape via rooftops and runs past the fight between Damien and Gale, then leaps up onto the same building and says with a small smile "Ya may wunna find a safer place...A building won't do much good for shielding this kinda battle." then looks around at other ruined buildings and looks back at Xandra "...Iiiiincase you haven't noticed..."
