"We could both keep eyes out for places, I suppose. I...I'd like to have roots with you, Zaphiro, at some point. If we're going to have foals someday they'll...need more stability than I had."
She nodded a little and nuzzled into him. It wasn't as though they moved when she was a foal - but she never felt like she had roots or a home. It was more of a place to stay and listen to her mother.
"If that's all right?"

Foals...they would need stability, wouldn't they? More stability than a roving lifestyle, that much is sure. Nodding his head, he tenderly stroked Hienna's mane as she cuddled back against him. "I think we can find some glenn or cave or something that'll make a nice, cosy home. This is a very nice region, after all, and not exceptionally crowded."
Which, frankly, was nice. He didn't really like the idea of sharing his new mate's company, at least not for a bit.
"Do you have any preferences?"

"I'm glad for that." Hienna was still apprehensive about other Soquili. Meeting people was still going to be hard for her - after all, Zaphiro was simply special. Zaphiro would know that, wouldn't he?
"Preferences...A cave would be great protection against the elements but at the same time it doesn't offer as much freedom and laying outside with the stars. Less comfort of the grass...What do you think?"

Plausible options...
"Hrm." Pursing his lips slightly, Zaphiro mulled over the options for a moment, then shifted slightly so he could look at Hienna a bit more directly. "So, how's this for an idea? We scout out a nice cave in the lowlands, maybe near the lake or something, and use it when it's bad weather; but otherwise, we can enjoy the grass around it. And we can always bring stuff in for warmth and whatnot, like heather and leaves and other homey touches. The two legger I visit might even be willing to give us blankets..."
So much to think of, all of a sudden! It was amazing how one little thing could change everything...
Or maybe not so little.

"...I really like that idea. Do you think we can find something like that that isn't taken, though?" She tilted her head a little bit, "I mean, there must be Soquili who think the same way as we do."
It would likely be a miracle to find such a place that was unoccupied. Truthfully, Hienna was already starting to fall in love with the idea of a cave with a lake or something.

"Considering how large the lake is, I think we've got at least SOMEWHAT of a chance. And I don't know what the Soquili are like where you came from, but here a large amount of Soquili are either purely transient, like myself, or live with the two-leggers in herds. So...I think we might be able to manage. But that aside..."
Smiling, he nuzzled gently against his mate, enjoying the warmth of her body against his. "I propose that we leave wondering about that until tomorrow, or something like that; we can consider this our honeymoon, as it were, and save the worries about practicalities for another day."
That, because he felt truly at peace right now. It would be a LONG walk to the lake, and spending the next eight or nine hours hiking...not fun.

"That's the problem, I'm not used to other Soquili," she answered with a soft laugh, "Or too many others. So I don't know too much. I like to think I'm learned, I suppose, but I'm really not." Hienna gave a half smile, "But I would like to lounge around with you and worry about things another day. It sounds nice."
The mare closed her eyes and nestled as close as possible. "I truly am glad I have you, Zaphiro."

"Then lounging it is. Today, we are two newlymates who have nothing more to worry about than getting used to being close, being comfortable, and simply enjoying each other's company. After all, we have our whole lives to think about serious things; today belongs to us and to our love."
Which sounded quite nice, to be honest. Considering how hectic the past few weeks had been, one day to just kick back and enjoy themselves seemed like a nice change of pace. "And I wouldn't ever want anyone but you, sweetie."

"That's a nice thought," she said softly, "Nobody but me. Nobody but you. Just us, always. I don't know why mother always said this was a bad thing..." The mare sighed contentedly.
The rest of the night was theirs and only theirs. Hienna wouldn't have it any other way.
