Noah sounded like he could use some rest as well. "And the same goes to you, Noah. I can't imagine you have much energy.:
Dallas extending his hand to shake was a surprise, but it was welcome. He put forward his own clawed hand and shook dallas'. "Nice to meet you as well. And yes, hopefully next time will be better."
He turned and headed out the door. He would've twisted around to say goodbye, but his back didn't work that way anymore. So once he was outside the door, he simply turned all the way around. "Later everyone." And with that he walked down the stairs.
((And that's it for me, I had fun guys! 3nodding ))

Noah quirked his head inquisitively, as Elea mentioned her previous line of work. National Inquirer...National Inquirer...oh, that was that tabloid-type magazine! Ah, so she was a journalist, then? Well, he imagined working for the NI might expose her to odd things, but he never thought anything could compare to PEOPLE turning into ANIMALS. But he might be biased- his life had never been all that interesting, even when he worked in a lab. Nothing prepared him for this.
He nodded his head slowly. "Ah, I see." he said quietly, still thinking she was too oddly well-adjusted. but maybe it was good a few people had a cool head in a crisis around here.
He turned to Dallas and nodded in understanding. So he had seen a change already. Oh, and so soon too. Noah felt a little pity for the man. He had seen a few of the changed islanders, but he assumed before they were either costumes or deformities. But soon enough, he watched someone change. For him, seeing someone change made him realized not only that this island was a very horrible place, but that all the things he had seen before...they were animal-people. Not costumes. Not deformities. ANIMALS. That realization had brought a shiver down his spine.
"It is terrible to see. I...could never get ovar it. Zhe first time I saw a change, I...panicked. It shook me very deeply. And...zhen a few veeks later, I changed too. I zhought at first, zhat zhe changes vere contagious, and zhat I had been infected until someone pointed out that ve vill all change... zhat ve are given shots that spark the transformations.." he shook his head. He still thought the concept of someone coming into his duplex in the night to inject him was horrific.
He sighed and gently waved to Ryan, watching the armadillo vanish out the door. One by one they were leaving...

It wasn’t that Elea was well-adjusted to any situation. It was, she just knew how to take herself out of it. Just observe and not take part--but since she was a ‘volunteer’ on this island, her line of defense would soon be shattered. But such a thing wouldn’t happen as long as she got off the island before they came to inject her. And now came the odd looks…yeah she worked at the NI and yes she was oddly calm. Though she wasn’t always as calm, like on her first assignment. ‘Diving into a swamp to look for the Lock ness monster and have a piece of seaweed and skeleton around you would creep anyone out.’ She mused silently as the reporter recalled her first couple of days on the job.
But that was the past, and now she had to deal with the present. A present in which Dallas was calm for the fact he had seen one change all ready. Elea listened intently at Noah’s initial reaction to the change and oddly enough it did make sense. After all, anyone else would’ve thought the same way too. Now it gave Elea more pressure to find an escape very, very quickly.
Now Ryan as gone, leaving a great opportunity for her to leave as well…to leave or not to leave. That was the question entirely. To stay and have idle chit-chat or go back to her duplex, alone and figure out a bunch of plans for escape. Gee, which was more fun of the two? Eh, it wasn’t as though she would get much sleep tonight, might as well stay for a few more minutes.
“Ah…well, working with the I.N…I suppose the reporters there suffer embarrassing moments or shocking ones to get over. I heard from other staff members each of them went through a short mental break down before returning to normal…went through two which wasn’t so bad.” She said nonchalantly, trying to make the last part seem like a joke. Hopefully Dallas and Noah would see it as such but if not, being seen as crazy wasn’t so bad either.

Dallas waved energetically at Ryan and then chuckled a bit at Elea's words. What she had said wasn't particularly that funny...but it really reminded him of his science teacher back in 7th grade. Totally monotone. But had a sense of humor too. Except when she told a joke, it was in the exact same voice as she usually used. God, he and his friends always cracked up when she told a joke. See, it was those memories that made him wish he were back home...
Dallas would have been a good mind reader. If people could actually minds. Because after he finished sifting through his memories, he leaned closer to the other two and whispered in a very conspiring tone, "So, either of you try to figure out a way to get of this damn island yet?"

Noah listened politely to Elea and nodded. He was caught a bit off guard by her comment, but after Dallas chuckled, he found himself giving a (nervous) laugh as well. maybe it was the ninchalant deadpan way she said things that did it.
At the change in conversation, his ears perked. Escape? Get off? It...it wasn't possible, was it? If it was, surely older islanders would have done something...He shook his head sadly.
"Nein. I...do not zhink it is possible. It vould seem ve are stuck here until..until..." He couldn't say it. Until their deaths. That's how he saw it. "Never has anyone escaped. Ve're so far out in zhe ocean...and zhe changed ones like meinself...vhat vould ve do even if ve could escape? Ve could never go back to haow it used to be. Not like zhis."
He felt a chill run down his spine when he thought about his future. Stay on the island forever....how long would that be anyways? He didn't like to think that far ahead. It was bleak. How long was his life now anyways? How long would Moreau keep them there? It was just not pleasant to think about. Carefuly, he picked up his tail- crusted with the dried blood from his paw, and began to groom it anxiously.

At the mention of a plan of escape did Elea’s interest perk greatly. So someone else had the same idea as her…maybe she could make partner’s with--what in the hell was she thinking?! There was no way in heaven or hell she, Elea Fairchild would take a partner! Not on a assignment with the Inquirer nor on an island where she could possibly turn into an ant for all she cared. ‘But I should throw him off..’ With that thought in mind did Elea began to pick out the precise words to say.
Following Noah’s lead on the entire issue did Elea pick the right moment to jump in. “Escape is impossible, we don’t’ have any materials to get off and what’s to stop them from locating us and possibly brainwashing us to living here happy as can be? Well, happy as they want us to be…” Her argument was a little weak but mid way she began to doubt her own abilities to get off. All the scenarios went through her mind and now she was regretting of not making better arrangements to get off before coming to this blasted place.

"Yeah, I ah, I suppose so." Dallas replied, feeling heat rising to his cheeks. Of course, why hadn't he thought about that? But then a little bit of 'brilliance' hit him. Once again getting excited he said, "you know, the have communications in this place. Maybe, we could ah, we could sneak into the labs or something? We could contact the mainland! I'm sure they'd have some sort of cure for you guys too Noah!"
He grinned widely, his heart beating excitedly. What if it did work? What if they could go home and lead a normal life? Just back to the way everything was before...that would be the best thing in the world. "You guys think that'd work?"

Noah shook his head and laughed bitterly. They were always so hopeful when they were so fresh...he had been too.
"Escape is impossible. If you start acting suspicious and collect too many suspicious materials, zhey vill vatch you like a hawk. You'll never get anyzhing done. If you leave, zhey'll just bring you back. Zhey von't brainwash you...I don't zhink...but zhey can do far vorse zhings zhan zhat." he mutter darkly.
He hated shooting people down, but it seemed only right to do so before they got their hopes too far up. After hearing it done to other people- and even having it told to himself- it wasn't as hard as he would have thought. Plus, he was tired and hurting. Maybe that made it easier. He turned to Dallas and raised a fuzzy brow.
"Do you zhink you could sneak in? And...zhere is no hope for me. I haff to just...just finish zhis out. Finish changing." he said, words turning to dust in his mouth. Realization really hurt like a b***h. "If you stop getting your shots...if you stop changing before you haff Become... you vill die or get very ill." he said hollowly.
God, he hated doing this. But it was better they knew. He felt his own heart beat quickly at the prospect of something going wrong. Of the thought he was boxed in, that he couldn't go back, that he had to only go forward or die. Jesus, how terrible. He swallowed hard.
"It...all so hopeless." he said, eye beginning to water. This sort of thing always made him emotional.

Game over for Elea. She should’ve thought about her plan more thoroughly! Right now, after hearing Noah’s account of just how impossible it was to get off the island, she wanted to hit her head against a wall or more preferably a desk. A bit of coloring left her cheeks from learning this vital piece of information. She had thrown her entire life away--then again did she have much of a life to begin with?
That was something to dwell on for another day, right now…hell, everything was screwed. Anger slowly bubbled in the girl, how could she have been so stupid?! None of her hair brained schemes--though this was actually the first one-- never worked out! Why wasn’t she given a sign to just stay in new York and find a job else where? Instead of trying to impress some big time journalists with an amazing article--that would more or less seem more worthy for the front page of the National Inquirer.
“Yeah hopeless.” She muttered, emerald orbs averting Dallas or Noah’s gaze. ‘The only way to get off this damn sodding island is for Peter Pan to come with buckets of pixie dust and to think of happy things.’ She thought sarcastically. And to make matters worse, without the injections…illness followed by death. “We’re all bloody ******** screwed.” She whispered harshly, a bit of her British accent coming out.
The only time one ever heard her accent would either be when she went to visit her grandparents in England or when she’s cursing. Either of the two rarely occurred in her life time so it was something to see a once calm girl now cursing with a foreign accent.

He did feel slightly downcast after the other two reminded him that it would never work. Of course it wouldn't. Who would ever be stupid enough to put an inadequate security system on the most import building they own? Not Moreau, that's for sure. It was rather interesting, however, to hear Elea swear. She just didn't really seem the type. Also, it was very odd to see her revert to an accent when she had been talking all this time with none at all. Trying to get out of the pit of depression he had dug himself, he remarked in a somewhat strained voice, "well, you know, I guess its maybe not too bad to stay on this island. I mean, of course I'd rather be in the real world, but here, you have new beginnings, you can start with a clean slate. And the only time your weird is when you look normal." He shrugged slightly and hoped they didn't think that he liked being on this island.
It was good to be optimistic, right?

Noah shivered the more he thought about what he actually said. His tail twitched nervously in his paws, and he groaned a bit, trying not to cry. After everything else stupid he'd done, crying would take the cake. He chattered his teeth unhappily.
He felt terrible, being the bearer of bad news, especially since Elea didn't seem to be taking the news too well. He looked up at Dallas, wondering how long the boy would keep the optimistic attitude. The changes...he was sure that the changes would affect his attitude somewhat, depending on what animal he was destined to become.
"Hah, screwed. Zhat's putting it lightly. More like doomed, really." he sighed in response to Elea. He then turned to address Dallas. "Everyone says...zhat all zhat can be done is to adapt and accept your life on zhe island. Vhat else can be done?"
Noah felt like a hypocrite or a poser when he said such things. In the end, that's what the older islanders, the fully changed ones, had told him. But he didn't want to accept that reality. He wasn't ready to just settle in and live out his days. He hated the island. He hated the doctors. But he was trapped. Caged. He felt his heart bat even harder then before and he swallowed hard, his mouth feeling dry.
God, thinking about that gave him anxiety fits.
"I'm not ready to accept it yet." he said hollowly in a quiet tone. "Maybe...vhen I Become...zhen it vill be easier." he muttered.
He still had a bad feeling about the island, but he didn't voice his suspicions. Not yet. These poor Unchanged ones had already been through enough without having to deal with his paranoid theories.

Ah the optimistic ones…so full of hope that everything would be fine…was there ever a time when Elea was like that? Maybe when she was first brought into the world but as the minutes unfolded fate stripped away whatever optimism she had in her tiny body. Oh well, it wasn’t like her to be all hopeful and cheery. Though Dallas’s words did strike a chord in Elea.
She would be living her life--whatever that maybe--with a clean slate. To make a new start, no enemies or friends in sight and…the life she would lead here on the island wouldn’t be different from the life she lead in New York. The journalist wouldn’t go outside unless she needed to do work--or visit anyone, but on the island the chance to find work would be zero. And chances are she wouldn’t visit anyone, just stay in her duplex unless she needed to get something to eat.
Glancing to Dallas and Noah did things become quiet. Which left two options for the girl, take this time to leave or break in some comforting words for all to hear. Fact chance for the later and she was still coping with the fact she could never get off the island…and with Noah’s little nervous habits only put her more on ******** great.” She muttered, her accent becoming more apparent with her anger starting to raise. But she had to keep a cool façade, just long enough till she got to her duplex. “Yes, Noah you’re right. We’re all doomed. Unless it turns out we’re in the Matrix, either way I don’t give a s**t anymore.” Her voice slightly rose, taking her hands out of her pockets to run through her locks while pacing back and forth. At least she was voicing her opinions out instead of keeping it all bottled inside.

Ah well, just 'cause they were pessimistic didn't mean he had to be. "Well, we may be doomed, but I suppose there are quite a lot of things that you could do here. I mean, this island has a theater, and I heard rumor of another construction about to take place. Hell, within the next ten years, this place will probably turn into our own private New York!"
Noticing how agitated the mouse man was becoming again, Dallas almost patted him on the shoulder but stopped when he remembered that Noah didn't like to be touched. Trying to change the subject, he remarked, "you know, I've found out what I'm supposed to become. From that lady doctor...Moreau's wife? yeah I'm gonna turn into a, ah..." He fidgited and looked down; it was sort of embarrasing. "A flying monkey. Like in the wizard of Oz..." trailing off, he looked the other two for several moments. For some reason, his mind rewinded back to Elea's remark about the Matrix. He grinned and fished in his pockets for something. "Oh, I forgot," he said, producing two things, one in his left hand and one in his right, "Pick one."
He opened his hands to reveal on blue pill, and one red.
((Of course its fake. Let's just say those are his good luck charms!;P))

A clean slate had sounded appealing to Noah. It was true, what they all said- this was a chance at a new life. It was like hitting some sort of reset button. But what if he didn't totally hate his old life? Sure he had a terrible childhood- but even starting over on the island couldn't fix THAT. But...his life had been average. Mediocre. It wasn't all bad. At least he had been human.
Now...what did he have? He still had a bad past, he was still single, and now he didn't even have any real friends anymore...just people he knew or people he was afraid of. Things didn't seem to have improved at all. But let them dream. Maybe it could be better for some people. Maybe. But not for him.
"Zhe Matrix..." Was that...oh, that was a movie. He had never seen it, but he had heard enough to grasp what they were talking about. "Zhings vould still be pretty bad if zhis was zhe Matrix, if I undetstand zhe movie right...zhough at least ve vouldn't be animals..."
He sighed and ran his clawed fingers through his hair.
"If zhis place is still around in ten years..." he muttered. He still didn't have much hope for the future.
He looked at Dallas' attempt to lighten the move and gave a short laugh. He leaned over gently and sniffed at the pills. Were they...fake? Interesting though. But he was turning into...a flying monkey? That was a bummer.
"At least you're not a mouse." he said glumly.

If the island became the next New York within ten years would be the day Elea would marry Bill Gates. Never in a million years would such a thing happen. Although it was funny to think about it, but soon the tiny spark of laughter in the young woman was replaced by the anger she felt for just throwing her old life away for the sake of gaining a better job. How foolish could one person actually be--besides Elea--to end up voluntarily on a place like this?
Then the boy had to bring out two pills.
Elea almost did a double take, almost. Dallas had to be pulling her leg right? ‘Of course…there is no fricking way.’ Her thought drifted off momentary. So Dallas was becoming a flying monkey…wonderful, just wonderful. Looking at the pills did Elea roll her eyes, how immature…but it did calm her down a little. Though she would never admit it. If she did it would only encourage the youth to do something else childish.
At Noah’s own glum statement did the girl give a dry chuckle. “Better mouse than turning into a bloody mermaid wanna-be.” Was her reply. All Elea knew about the animal she would become was one thing, it was aquatic. Which meant it was most likely a fish…and what do humans relate to with the word fish? Mermaids…well with the Inquirer it was naturally the only thing she could relate to the word.
It wasn’t because Elea was jealous or anything of the sort towards Noah and Dallas. Both would be mammals and she…well living underwater or above...or what have you. Oh well, it wasn’t as though she was very social and being underwater would provide more solitude she supposed.
