Right now I'm reading two books... well, maybe three. At first I was reading Eragon, but I kinda stopped. Now I'm reading The Golden Compass (I'm forgetting the author), and The Prophecy of the Stones by (First name) Bujor. They're both really good, and The Prophecy of the Stones was writtin by a fifteen year old, which is really amazing for me.

Starship Troopers -- Robert A. Heinlind

Pretty good so far. Not as intense as the movie so far. Waiting to get to the bug parts.

I'm currently reading the first book of the Daughters of the Moon series by Lynne Ewing titled Goddes of the Night. So far it's interesting seeing as how some of it refers to some parts of my religion and other parts of it are just interesting for the fact that they make you think.

I'm reading Shadowplay by Tad Williams, the second book in his new fantasy trilogy... and I wouldn't touch the Xanth series by Piers Anthony with a ten four Pole--or a tall person of any other nationality, for that matter.

I just finished The Giver by Lowry, Farhenheit 451 by Bradbury, The Woman in the Wall by Patrice Kindl, Goose Chase by Patrice Kindl, and King of Attolia by Megan Whalen Turner.

Currently I am reading Madness: A Brief History by Roy Porter. It's non-fiction...but...still interesting. I'm also reading Warrior Woman by Peter Aleshine, which is a narative about a Native American woman named Lozen. She's a real person but the book is pieced together using lots of sources because Native Americans keep an oral history mostly and for some reason didn't like to mention her much. The author figured it was to protect her ^.^ She was COOL!

Aaaaaaaaand... I just picked up like eight books from the library. One is The War of the Flowers and another The Eyes of the Dragon (Stephen King).

So WHEEEEEEEEEE!!! blaugh *ish hyper*

I'm reading "Tales and Poems of Edgar Allen Poe". I've read most of it before, but got sidetracked by something else. It's mostly a collection of his best stories and poems, including my personal favorites, "Hop-Frog" and "The Raven".

I am currently reading 4 books >.<

1: The Astonishing Life Of Octavian Nothing, Traitor To The Nation - MT Anderson

Volume I: The Pox Party

User Image

In November of 2006, it won the National Book Award for Young People

Set in the time leading up to and during the American Revolutionary War.

It's about a boy and his mother who live in a house with scientists. Him and his mother are the only two that go by names; everyone else is known by numbers.

Everything about their lives are recorded: when they ate, what they ate, when they go to the restroom, when they go to bed, what time they wake up, and many more such situations.

This is all Octavian has grown up knowing so it doesn't seem out of the ordinary for him. That added to the fact that he's never allowed to leave the house by himself.

An evil sort of man then comes into the story and starts messing up their peaceful life.

This is as far in the story as I have gotten.

2: Inkspell - Cornelia Funke

Second book in Inkheart trilogy

User Image

It was named the 2006 Book Sense Book of the Year in the Children's Literature category.

It's about character's who can bring stories alive. In the first one the main character's (Meggie) father (Mo) reads a book called Inkheart (also the name of the first book) and brings out 4 of it's characters.

The first book is about how the characters try to get back into the story.

This book is about how Meggie discovers she has the same power and reads herself into Inkheart. The book is then about how she is to get out again.

3: The Named - Marianne Curley

The first book in the Guardians of Time Trilogy.

User Image

An International Reading Association’s Young Adult Choice 2004

A “Recommended Read” Red House Children’s Book Award 2003

This book is told (rotating chapters) from the view point of Ethan (a member of The Guards) and Isabel (a soon to be member).

Member's of the Guard travel through time setting things right so the present and future will be as it should. They battle an organization called The Order.

The story goes through Isabel's training and beginning missions. It also focuses on Ethan's abilities and struggles.

4: The Fellowship of the Ring - J.R.R. Tolkien

First in The Lord of the Rings trilogy.

User Image

Hopefully you all know the story.

Hey I saw Octavian Nothing at the Chapters I go to a while back, it didn't sound that interesting though. Granted I skimmed the back synopsis, so who knows.

Right now I'm reading nothing sweatdrop

I don't have the time or energy for it, I barely have enough time to skim through the forums to make sure you folks are keeping things polite, haha.

PS everyone go see PotC 3 heart heart heart

I have to admit, when I first started reading it I was bored to tears. But it gets better.
