Kaelin wasn't really watching at all where she was going as she ran through the forest. Her vision was blurred by her tears as well as her anger at herself. Tripping she yelps as she smack the ground hard her hands hitting water. Shaking her head she sighs as she sat up trying to figure out where she was. Looking out at the water she looks around now slightly frighten as to how far into the forest she went.
Mel looks down at the dagger then back at the older pae'il, nodding he looks at his brother placing his small hand on his shoulder. He was the stronger one of the two that was very certain.
Dil whimpers a few times until he felt Mel's hand on his shoulder. Looking over at him she bites his small bottom lip before he took the kunai from Victor.

"Alright, let's go find your mother, or at the very least your adopted dad..." He stood up and rolled his shoulders, poiting the way that Kaelin had gone. "Foreward! March!" He then started to head into the brush, if the kids didn't follow that was their issue, but in all fairness, they would be safer with him.
Kaelin owed him SOOO much when he found her.

Standing slowly Kaelin winces loking at her hands, a few cuts was all, but they were stinging more then anything as small trinkles of blood ran from the cuts. Frowning she looks at the water then back around her. She knew she wasn't safe, but she couldn't leave the area as she didn't know how to get back.
Walking over to one of the trees she slip carefully back down to the ground as she pulled her cloak close to her body. The only thing she knew to do was stay hidden and wait.
Mel smiles as he follows after the bigger pae'il the dagger held in his small hand. He only pause for a moment looking back towards his brother who hadn't moved yet. Frowning he tilts his head to the side.
Dil shook his head before he moved back towards the lake where Nerinda was. He didn't want to go into the forest without his mother so he was going to stay with Nerinda until they brought her back.
Nerinda taps Dil's shoulder lightly before she sat back down in the shallow part of the water, she was still trying to get as much moisture as she could back into her skin.

Victor looked behind him and shrugged, "Suit yourself kid... if you're lucky we'll bring her back in one piece..." And with that, he vanished behind the trees, quickly looking for any sign of Kaelin's passing.
It wasn't hard, and took almost no time at all.
People who ran in Dragnid forest had a bad habit of tearing out trails in the vegatation, it was a good way to attract predators, who would follow such a trail to it's inevitable end. Dinner.
Shaking his head, Victor followed the trail slowly, walking in a crouched formation weapon ready, incase he got jumped by something, or someone.
The kid would have to run or fight if he got molested, Victor wasn't in the mood to play hero, and it would be Kaelin's fault if her son died in the forest, since after all, Victor was only doing this to bring her back to her children, and maybe actually make her listen.
It didn't take long though, for him to find her, the path being as straight as it was.
"You're lucky you didn't fall in the water," Victor said, picking up a stick and chucking it in. It landed two feet into the pond... and got snapped in half by a snarling lizard thing.
"I haven't been able to see what it is, but I'm not stepping foot in it."

Looking up when she hears her brother's voice she turns just in time to see the twig snapped in half. Paling she stands moving away from the lake only to turn right into Victor. Trembling tears ran down her face as she shook her head "I'm sorry Vicor, I was just angry and I had to walk away before I didn't something foolish. I don't know what I was thinking." she knew she was being foolish, but after seeing that she had nearly fallen into that pond she was scared.
Mel look up at his mother then back at Victor, he offically like this man and wanted to learn everything he could from him. Looking up at his mother again he reaches his hands out towards her. He didn't like what she did, but she was his mother and he was glad to see she was okay.
Leaning down Kaelin pick her son up taking her dagger from him. She didn't look at Victor at all as she couldn't.
Dil sat by Nerinda making a few sand castles in the water, he was trying to keep the girl occiuped as well as himself. He was worried, but he knew showing it wasn't going to do any good.

"Kaelin, I told you to never apologize to me," Victor said crossing his arms. "Now stand up, your other son is waiting by the beach," Turning he started to walk that way. "You know, I don't always mean literally everything I say you know, sometimes I say things and they're not what they sound like. There are reasons I talk to you Kaelin, I'd of thought you'd of figured that out by now..."

Kaelin felt as if she had just gotten slapped even though Victor never touched her. Looking down she stands holding Mel close as she remained quiet. She was still trying to understand Victor so sometimes she didn't always get what he said until after she calmed down. This was one of those times. She knew she was going to have to repay Victor back for all the trouble she was causing him.
Mel lays his head on his mother shoulder as she lift the cloak to hide him under it slightly. He didn't mind at all, not after seeing that thing in the water. He was more determine to look how to fight only because he knew he would need it.
Dil and Nerinda continue to play on the beach. They seem so happy that they had completely forgotten about the others.

Victor didn't go far, he wanted to make sure Kaelin got back to Dil before too much longer, though it was good that the boy and his mother were seperate, this area of Dragnid was not safe for sleep. "Get up Kaelin, it's time to go get your son and go home," He finally said flattly, picking up another stick and chucking it into the pond, watching as whatever lived there snapped it in half. "And soon, that thing will get hungry sooner or later, and I don't want to be around if it can get out of that pond."

Remaining quiet Kaelin follows along side of Victor, her hair masked her face pretty well. Rubbing Mel's back she glances back towards the pond shivering as she couldn't believe she was that close to losing her life.
Mel closed his eyes just listening to his mother's heartbeat, it didn't take long for the biy to relax. This was the only time he was ever a mommy boy. When he was listening to her heartbeat it made him want to be held by her.

Victor walked the way back in silence, mainly for the tactical advantage of being able to hear if something moved through the brush to attack. Though, he knew full well that what would pop out of hte bush would make no nosie, and he'd most likely be dead before he knew it killed him. But that was the risk he took living in this area, and he'd come to accept that.

Kaelin glance up at her brother wanting to say something to him, but had a huge feeling he wasn't in the mood to deal with her anymore. He wanted her to go home, she was acting stupid and he wanted her to leave. Sighing she kept moving making sure she didn't make and sounds.
Looking down at her son she smiles as she finds him asleep in her arms, it was about the only time she ever got to hold him. Sleeping Mel was alot different. He like being closed and being held by her.

"What's with the sigh, depressed perhaps?" Victor looked over his shoulder. "You should be you know, you should be ashamed at how you've acted tonight," grumbling he looks up at the sky as they broke the treeline. "Come see me tomorrow, same place, same time; bring the brats if you want..."
And with that, he turned and vanished back into the foliage.

Kaelin sighs shaking her head as she watch her brother vanish back into the forest. Moving towards the woods she spots not only her other son asleep on the beach, but the little naiad as well. Frowing she kneels down by the two children.
She didn't want to leave the little girl alone, not after she bonded with Dil. Scoopong the other two up carefully she turns instead heading down the path towards head quarters. She would rest there for the night then tomorrow head back to Rath's home and curl up in his arms.
