This is honestly retarded.
Okay, listen.
Kikyou was a priestess, helping people and caring for the villiage she lived in.
Then the duty of protecting the Shikon no Tama came along, and that put stress on her.
She can't show anyone the real side of her because that will show weakness- and that weakness would lead the jewel to be taken away.
She had to be someone strong to protect the jewel from the hands of demons.
She didn't live life as a normal woman would, and thus, she kept her heart locked.
THEN INUYASHA CAME ALONG and she fell in love with him.
The first person to actually let her feel like she can be a normal woman.
She opened her heart to him..and he did the same.
Then you know, the Naraku retard came along and lalalala you know the story.
Kikyou died thinking Inuyasha betrayed her, and since her death, that thought of betrayal lingers in her soul because that's what last came to her.
Now she's awakened and the only thing that comes to her is the pain of betrayal.
FROM THE ONE SHE LOVED.
THE ONE SHE TRUSTED.
The one she opened up her heart to, the one that she showed her weakness to..
And then..she dies..with all that pain and sorrow in her heart.
How the hell do you think that feels?
To think you have been betrayed from the one you love and trust?
Yes, the trust was easily shattered, but can you blame that?
Kikyou and Inuyasha have lead very lonely lives and harsh reality before they met eachother. They lived lonely lives to prevent the pain that came to them now. It's not that the trust wasn't strong enough, it's that they never trusted before and it's HARD to look at someone when you think they've betrayed you. ESPECIALLY WHEN SOME RETARD TAKES THE EXACT SAME FORM OF YOU AND SLICES YOU AND TELLS YOU TO DIE.
THEN she's brought back to life, and upon that, she automatically feels the pain in her heart. The wounds that she thinks her lover gave her. The wounds that her lover gave her FROM BETRAYAL.
It's only natural for her to want to kill him, okay?
Then her and Inuyasha find out that Naraku's the cause and lalalala..
Inuyasha wants revenge and definantly Kikyou does too.
And..she knows now that Inuyasha didn't do it..
..And her love comes back for him.
YES, IT DOES. But you barely see it because..
When she was brought back to life, she never got her full soul back, DID SHE? No. Kagome has it. So what does she have to do?
Linger in a clay body WITH ALL THE PAIN she had from her "betrayal" soaked in her bones. She doesn't have her full soul to fully feel like she would. All she has is the hate in her bones. But, along with it, you do see the love she had for him.
With the little moments between the two, you can see it.
You hardcore anti-Kikyou and pro-Kagome fans call it 'coming between Inuyasha and Kagome.
It's not coming between them.
Technically, they never broke up.
And they never stopped loving eachother.
They just ended on really bad terms and now that things are sorted out, they feel for eachother.
Now, Inuyasha and Kagome have their own thing going on, but don't call Kikyou intruding, because she's not.
She loves him.
Deal with it.
And like I said before, Kikyou has hate in her bones, but she can't live off of that ONLY, so she gets the souls of dead girls.
Yes, that's kind of wrong, but YOU STILL can't blame her. She wants to continue living to get revenge for what's been done to her.
If you were in her place, you sure as hell wouldn't let Naraku get away with screwing you over big time.
ANNNDDDD to clarify:
"She doesn't always come back to life"--she came back once. She didn't die the second time from Naraku, she was in a little trance.
Also, it's not HER fault for coming back, Urasue brought her back. She didn't ask for it. And now that she knows the truth, she wants revenge.
"Because she steals people's souls and she killed a priest and she keeps hurting Kagome and me."
If she hurts you, then you're a bit too into the anime. o.O She doesn't STEAL the souls, okay? The girls are already dead and she takes them AFTERWARDS. It's not like she kills for them. She killed a priest? He was budding into HER buisness and calling her a demon. How would you feel? Yeah, killing was extreme, but all she has is HATE in her bones! And this is before she realizes Naraku did the dirty deed.
"Not to mention there's the fact that she gave a huge piece of the jewel to Naraku (even though this is somehow suposed to help them in the end). Sorry Kikyo fans, but I'm with Kagome on this."
..Kikyou did it because she knows what she's doing. And obviously Rumiko knows what she's doing, too, since she's the author of the manga. Kikyou doesn't do stupid things-- she's wise, which is why she was given the jewel to protect. In the second movie, the little cup that Kagura was looking for Kaguya was given to her by Kikyou. Kikyou didn't just give it to her for no reason- she knew Inuyasha would be fight her AND would be capable of defeating her, too. She even came up in the movie and shot an arrow to help him fight those water creature thingies.
Her actions aren't stupid and meaningless-- there's always a reason to what she does.

She's not getting in between them! They never really broke up- they just ended on really bad terms. And just because they're hurt by broken trust, doesn't mean that they didn't still love eachother. AND JUST BECAUSE SOMEONE/SOMETHING DIES, doesn't mean you'd stop loving them, either, would you?
You wouldn't stop loving your Uncle or Grandpa if they died. And the same goes for lovers, too.
Don't say that she's interfering.
IF ANYTHING (even though I like Kagome), Kagome's interfering with her relationship.
Mmhm.
Maybe you can come to understand her now?

I think kikyo has no personnality what so ever. Her and Kagome really don't have as many similarities as you are lead to believe. Kagome is much more energetic and up to speed with Inu-Yasha, Kikyo is cold and distant. Beside Rumiko Takahashi wants it that way. =]

Kikyou has a personality, she just didn't show it because that would alter her protection of the jewel. Showing personality means showing some of her weakness and she can't do that because she needs to protect the jewel. And, after she died, all you see is pain and suffering that she goes through. You should read my post above and grow up.

Hoo-rah, the story of Kikyou, as best as I can tell.
Once upon a time, there was a girl named Kikyou. She was a miko, living in a small village. Because of her duties, she never saw herself as anything like "pretty" or "sophisticated" like the other girls. Instead, she went out and destroyed Youkai.
Flash forward; night scene. Demon Slayers find the Shikon no Tama. They bring it to Kikyou so she could protect it. Yet another daunting task added onto her other duties. She took the job, however.
Flash forward again; enter InuYasha. The young Hanyou is interested in the Shikon jewel. After a small bout, Kikyou is the victor. She fails to kill him, though, because she sees a bit of herself in the boy; an outcast just wanting to belong in the world. These encounters grew between the two, and since I don't want this story taking forever, end result is that they fall in love.
Side story; Kikyou was secretly taking care of a bandit by the name of Onigumo. Onigumo wanted Kikyou for his own, and made a pact with demons to have a new body. End result is Naraku.
Through deception and disguise, Naraku managed to land a fatal blow to Kikyou, as well as return InuYasha's intent to take the Shikon Jewel to him. In the process, he made each think the other had betrayed him/her. Very deceptive. End result? InuYasha pinned to a tree and Kikyou dying.
NOTE: Why did Kikyou seal InuYasha instead of destroy him? And why to the Tree of Aeons? This would only result in InuYasha being sealed forever, without the decay of age. Because she loved him!
Fast forward; She is brought back to life. Still believing InuYasha had killed her, and with only the hateful part of her soul remaining within her (the nice half went into Kagome, because, you know, they're sharing a soul), the only thing she wanted to do was drag InuYasha to hell.
Yet another fast forward; Kikyou becomes a bit more emotionally stable, and learns that Naraku was the one to destroy her life. All hate and will to destroy moves from InuYasha to Naraku.
WARNING, SOME OF THESE COMMON SENSE THINGS MAY HAVE SPOILERSFun things to note are: 1.)She no longer has intent to take InuYasha to hell, so any attempts to use that as Kikyou bashing are poorly thought out. 2.)"She gave Naraku all those jewel shards!" - Um, I think people decided to purposely ignore the comment she made. Goes something like, "Go Naraku, collect the rest of the jewel shards. And once you've found them all, I'll send you to hell." For those of you too lazy to actually try and figure out what that means, her strategy was to kill Naraku through a ridiculously purified shard within the completed jewel. When Naraku absorbs said jewel with purified shard, the purification within the core of his essence would destroy him instantly. There's your reason behind her madness, if you could call it madness. 3.)"She collects dead souls! That's just wrong!" - Well, sometimes you gotta do bad things to have a good result, after all when Naraku manages to kill her the second time, all the souls are released. Thusly, they were really more.. "borrowed" than anything. Borrowed for a good cause, at that. 4.)"She's interfering with the InuxKag relationship!" - This one's been thwarted a number of times, but I'll do it again, just because this concept is so ridiculous. Kagome came after. That's about all there is to it. Does that mean Kagome should bugger off? Well, no, or we wouldn't have that wonderfully awkward tension that we've come to love regarding InuYasha's love triangle. Besides, this was solved with Major Spoiler in point #3.5.)"Kikyou is a cold witch!" - Well, manga chapter 465, titled "HIKARI" (also known as "Light") completely unmasks this entire concept for what it really is: a mask. Truthfully, she cared in an amazing way, and still managed to pull off the appearance that she was cold and distant. If you're keen on reading the chapter, it can be found here. I think those were the biggest points about Kikyou's character. If anyone still has any major concerns, feel free to say them.

well i have a lot of thing i hate about Kikyo. She is a plane stick up b***h. She dousent care about Kagome at all .Ahe gest prretendes to. Sorry if i am spelling some crape wroung too. Oh and by the way a dead person and a live person will not macke any thing right. Come on people wake up. kikyo only wants Inuyasha for her self. If u dount belive me then go to the frist movie they made. Then u will see her true self. And that will be it for today good bye.

Its just the fact, that she liked inuyasha. Kikyo used that and tried to force him to use the shikon jewel to become a human, so she liked him more due to the fact that she could use him to help her. In my opinion, she used inuyasha to use the jewel to make her become a normal woman, which is what she wanted.
