Hearing some sort of noise also, Gingersnap decided evening was not a good time to be hanging around the edge of the woods. "Are you ok still Calypso?" he said, making sure she could still manage the weight of the stretcher.

"Yes, I've rested. I'll be ok. It's not far now," she replied.

"Let's get going then. Settle back Kiki, we don't want you straining yourself."

"Not far, not far, just try to rest as best you can," said Gingersnap as the twilight started closing in around them.

Before long they were almost upon Pixie's cottage.

"Is your place this one? Or the one on the other side of ours?" asked Calypso.

Calypso looked at Gingersnap for help.

Gingersnap shrugged, unsure what Kiki was talking about. "Ah, yeah, we know which one is our cottage Kiki. Can you tell us which one is yours? This one here? Or on the other side of our cottage?" He spoke slowly in case Kiki had become delirious.

Calypso's eyes go wide with shock.

Gingersnap shakes his head and rubs his face, then picks up the stretcher again signalling for Calypso to do the same. "Right you are then," he said to Kiki, thinking the sooner they got her home the better. He secretly hoped there would be someone there to look after her, since she was becoming a difficult patient.

Calypso followed Gingersnap's lead, hurrying off in the direction of the cottage. She guessed the injury must have affected Kiki's mind, well she sure hoped that's what it was. She didn't want a cranky neighbour. With luck Kiki would be her old self once she was treated and had some proper rest.

"Well here we..." Gingersnap began, then turning he realised Kiki was asleep. "Thank goodness," he whispered to Calypso.

"I think the injury must have affected her," whispered Calypso. "She seemed perfectly normal before then. Anyway, I hope there's someone home." And she knocked gently on the door.

Pixie "Uh, hello? Oh you live next door don't you? How's things?" when she answers the door.

Calypso and Gingersnap stand with mouths open ready to explain.

Pixie "Oh no, my ulaya are well behaved." She looks at them again. "Ah although I must say they've grown since they went out this morning." She pauses. "There must be some suitable explanation." Pixie calls them over and they come, leaving the stretcher with the snoring Kiki at her own door.

"What's going on you two?" Pixie asks.

"Ah..." begins Gingersnap.

Seeing his tongue-tiedness, Calypso continues for him. "Well, Kiki showed us this secret place in the woods with a waterfall and a cave. And we went in the cave and there was a treasure, but there was a bear guarding it. Kiki got her foot stuck under the treasure chest, Gingersnap saved her just as the bear came for her but Kiki's leg is hurt." Calypso decided to be tactful..."And, ah, well, she's been rather ah, stressed about it all until just now when she fell asleep." She nods, looking at Gingersnap for support.

Pixie "Well you two, you look like you need a wash. You're all grubby from your first day out adventures." She motions them inside. "I hope Kiki is all right. I'll send those two in to check on her tomorrow."

Calypso and Gingersnap skitter off inside, worried when they see Kiki starting to wake up, wondering what she'll say or do but also glad her caretaker is going to cure her as they were involved in the whole adventure also and felt some responsibility towards her.
