I'm getting frames like those hopefully soon. 3nodding blaugh mrgreen Hey, I need new ones, my current glasses are scratched up.
And I'd wanna look for the pinstripe outfit and sneakers set too, if I ever went to a sci-fi convention over the summer. ^o^ And order a sonic screwdriver too! blaugh I'll be the female version of Ten and I might just put my hair up in a ponytail too. That would look cute! I swear this summer, that's what I'll do if there's a sci-fi convention near me!
Hmm....if not, I'll try and make the Four scarf. mrgreen

I've been trying to get to where I have a Third Doctor or Third Doctor-inspired outfit. I've got a couple jackets and pairs of pants that aren't bad (but not perfect, either), but I'm still looking for a frilly shirt. When I find one that is perfect, it's either too big or too expensive; when I find one that is the right size and price, it's not frilly enough!! Oh well...
A friend of mine has offered to make me a frilly shirt, though, if I can draw for him what I want. And give him my measurements, but he didn't mention that part (I just know he'll need them, though).

Now thats one thing I'd LOVE to do; go to a sci-fi convention. But I don't know of any here... there's Supernova, but that's... comic books or something, ... well, something that isn't sci-fi.
I mean, it's one of the few places you can dress up as the doctor and not ger shunned. Maybe even as far as being complimented for you're amazing costume.
You know, if I ever get mum to make the scarf, I'm wearing it to School all through winter.

I've got a little black velvet cape like the one he has for a bit. It's red on the inside. I forget exactly what the Third's looked like - but I'm pretty sure this one looks a lot like it. I don't have any of the rest of the costume though so I can only really do vampires or magicians! sweatdrop

It's not exactly what I'd call cheap, but not overly expensive.

Smigg-the-Miserable KO-KO Twisted Davros I don't suppose any of you would know any sites besides eBay where I could get a 6th Doctor outfit? I made one for my son based on photos of the actual costume taken ata DW convention, and used a frock coat pattern. I don't klnow if anyone out there is making them, but you might try a search engine. If all else fails, get some good pictures from TV and see if you can hunt down a seamstress who can make it for you. It may cost a littlke extra, but it would be worth it. Green shoes and red spats are the hardest to find, and we just spray-painted a pair of cheap shoes and makde red spats from felt. The end result was something like this: That's pretty damn good. Almost makes me want one. Almost. When he was that small (he was three), costumes were easy to make. he's way too big now for me to do it, and I doubt he's wear one anyway. His fav Doctor is Eccleston. I was lucky because I was one of the few American fans to actually see the coat in person, and I made copious notes so I could reproduce it for the next convention. It wasn't an exact match, but it was pretty darned close. Before that, I made for myself a Tom Baker costume, but haven't worn it in ages. Only wore it to one convention, then retired it. After I put on weight, I didn't want to be seen in a costume. I once saw a wierd costume combination, but I don't have pictures. A guy was made up like the 5th Doctor, but his very pregnant wife was made up as Romana. They looked really strange.

I would have liked to have gone to a Lord of the Rings convention.

Mizoko I'm seriously considering doing a Doctor Who costume for a convention I'm going to. Sadly, the convention is in August and there isn't one outfit that's "heat stroke friendly". gonk
Several of the Doctors were seen with their coats removed, and their pants held up with suspenders. They always wear a white shirt. So it can be done.

I would have liked to have gone to a Lord of the Rings convention. Oh yes! Especially to meet fans that didn't just jump on the bandwagon when the movies came out! (no offense to present company razz ) I was a fan just by reading The Hobbit a few years before the movies were announced, and then I worked on the trillogy the year of the movie... sadly, I had no idea of what conventions were, and I wasn't hardly considering myself a sci-fi fan. ...Ok...back on topic. Other than a general sci-fi Con, where would it be more DW-specific? I imagine most sci-fi goers dressed up in Star Wars or Star Trek or some kind of metal suit, or something like that...I suppose that's mostly stereotyped though?

Actually, most of us tromp around the halls in T-shirts & jeans, maybe have some badges or weird hats, or just general exotic or eccentric garb. Most of the costumes are worn for the Costume Contest, but some hall costumes are always around. Some cons will encourage this by having a prize for best hall costume too.
