I have to say, that before I knew any of the tricks. Before I knew about pheonix and final attack, before I knew you could mime limit breaks... and before I sat down and leveled up characters and materia for hours on end. The bosses in the game were challenging. Sephiroth was HARD at level 55 without omnislash and without KOTR. The weapons were damn near IMPOSSIBLE to beat. BUT... now I have totally pwned that game and I don't think there's anything in that game I haven't done, beaten, or collected. So I'm happy. I've got a full set of master materia for every character, I have all the limit breaks, all characters at lvl 99 with max stats. Oh, and I never used a game shark. Just had a LOT of spare time.

yes Ruby Weapon is the hardest boss in Final Fantasy 7

I didn't have trouble with any of the bosses. The WEAPONS were only hard if you didn't know how to prepare. (HINT: EQUIP MYSTILE!)
The only boss I ever had trouble with... was Carry Armor. He always tended to use Lapis Laser OVER AND OVER which did 750-1500 depending on the row. I had 1300 hp at that point because I tend to underlevel my party.

Ruby weapon was hard, no doubt. BUT did you ever think about casting hades on him so it slows him down? (thats what I did. I casted it on his tentacles one turn, and him another..It slowed him down so that I could beat on him for a few turns)

Excluding the WEAPONs, Carry Armor. He always made short work of me unless I had Cloud use Meteorain.

Simple, Ruby. Still haven't beaten him.
Storyline, Proud Clod. I beat Sephiroth without KotR pretty easily. Level 75 characters.

im surprised any of you can say ruby is hardr than emerald
have you tried fighting emerald weapon when your average level is 70 and you dont have the underwater materia

Perhaps Safer Sephi. W/o KOTR, he was kind of easy, but he got annoying after a great while. I just fought him last night at levels 80-82.
Do you know that if your levels are all 99, his HP increases by 30,000 and if you used KOTR on Jen. Synthesis, that's another 80,000?
