Day of the Competition. Quest; FinaleDays had passed, and on each day the toddler was busy working at his friend's banner. He'd decided to keep it down to a banner after spotting what was going on in the TV, but it was not JUST a banner. Of course not. Nothing the boy worked on EVER was JUST something. He put his all and all into it, and even got some help from Chael when it came to decorating. After all, he'd proved awhile back when he was with Karoko that coloring and such wasn't really what he was best at. The only help he'd allowed Freize to give was with some minor spelling- after all, Eva had gotten rather good at reading and writing.
The day of the gymnastics tournament, Eva had finally finished. There he sat, staring down at the large stretch of paper before him. It read 'Go Teagan #1' in true child's scrawl, and it was covered in virtually anything he could get his hands on. Paint, markers, crayons, glitter, glue, stensil drawings, and cut outs of things. It may sound like a total mess, but in actuality it came out to be a very vibrant and well-thought out banner. It didn't look half bad, even Freize admitted later on. Eva was a different story.
Glitter and paint was stuck in his hair, glue, paint, and marker was smeared across his face, and his arms looked like they had been the battle zone between the three. Oh, and to top it off, one of his ears was currently a vibrant shade of red as a result to a painting accident. His clothing had been the home to so many paint spills that barely any of the original color was left.
And he wasn't even done yet.
He thought onto what he'd seen on TV, and then promptly plopped his hand straight into the green paint. He smeared it over his eyebrows with two fingers, and then going down from his cheeks. Kind of like what he'd seen in one of the football games. He then lifted his rump from the floor and tore off upstairs, leaving green handprints on each step. (He tended to go up on all fours.)
His destination? Freize and Arafel's room. He poked in and stalked on through into their bathroom, ducking into the cabinets... Where was it...? Aha!
Arafel didn't have much make-up, just some for special occasions. Eva pulled loose a tube of lipstick and used it to draw thick red lines going horizontally under his eyes. He stopped to ponder for a moment before adding one more little detail...
And then he was off, leaving green smudges all over the bathroom cabinets and Arafel's make-up.
"EVA! It's almost time to go!" Freize called up, and then trodded towards the door to grab his sweatshirt. After pulling the black clothing piece on, he turned again, "Don't forget your banner!"
He almost swore with every curseword he ever knew when he saw the little monster that approached him. He believed that this rag-tag little guy had once been Eva, but couldn't quite be sure. ".... Eva, go wash up or we won't be going." He took the banner from the silent boy and watched as he tore off towards a bathroom, full speed. Kids.
Eva hurried into the bathroom, shoving his hands into the sink and giving them the world's quickest wash. Unfortunately for Freize, this was the 'roo's equivalent to "washing up". He'd proved in the past that he had absolutely no knowledge of when he was all dirtied up- ESPECIALLY not when he had something else he could be doing rather than getting clean.
"I'll be waiting in the car!" The runt's ears perked and he looked back... And then turned off the water and ran, full speed, to the garage.
Now, during their time in the car, Freize hadn't looked into the back seats to spot his still-dirtied boy. Luckily for them both, he'd kept his eyes on the road the whole time. After all, he wasn't like Ajani. Once they got there, he'd also managed not to look at the little guy until after they'd gotten inside. His eyes turned to Eva, "Okay, now-" He went dead quiet at what he saw. He'd taken this creature out into public..? He groaned loudly, "EVAAA." The child cocked his head innocently. What was up with da?
The poor tree kangaroo was promptly hauled off to the bathroom.
When the two emerged again, Eva was doing something unusual- pouting. His hair was sopping wet, as was his now brown-again ear, and all that remained on his face were the lightest smudges left from the lipstick that hadn't wanted to come off. He was now clad in Freize's sweatshirt, which went a bit past his ankles, the sleeves dragging on the floor. Oh well, atleast he had his banner...
Freize sighed in relief. Crisis averted. He peered around before motioning for Eva to take his hand. The child complied. "Alright, let's go find a place to sit or something.. You can talk to Teagan afterwards." The boy beamed, back to his usual self as they walked off. Oh well, it wasn't that bad. He still got to go. Oh, and Freize hadn't seen the large letter T he'd written on his stomach in lipstick!
