"Ah, she the one that was playing baby-sitter to Yue? I don't know if you could really call what we had a 'meeting', but yeah, I think I know who you mean. But whatever you need to do." Being not completely stupid, Safi realized belatedly that his comment had been rather foolish; but he was used to injuring himself, not accompanying an injured person, so he had to get a LITTLE credit. This was new to him.
Folding his wings back over his shoulders, Safi simply nodded his head and walked along with Selene. At this point, it wasn't like he could do a whole lot anyway, other than making sure she made it back to her teepee without...well, he wasn't sure what might happen. Withouth her passing out from the pain in her wing and being eaten by wolves? Well, something like that.

The mare nodded. "Yes. She and Yue play a lot." yes, she referred to it as playing, though she knew for them it was anything but. She moved faster. It hurt, and really.... she was getting tired. She wanted to make it back to the teepee before she broke down weeping... because she did want to maintain -some- level of composure. And not just because of her mild crush... everyone wants to maintain a certain... pride, some distinction, that set them apart. Hers... would be a still upper lip. She never cried, she reminded herself. NEVER.

"Well, it must be nice for you to know that Yue is in the hands of a healer when you're gone; at least she can avoid serious injury that way!" Ambling along as he was, Safi didn't notice the fact that Selene was having composure issues, no doubt because he wasn't really looking at her. After that frenzied mid-air chase, they'd put a lot of distance between the bee-meadow they'd been in and the bit of countryside they were currently in, and in this case he couldn't recall ever wandering the terrain before.
Granted, it wasn't exceptionally different from the rest of the Soquili lands, so when he heard Selene start to move faster he hastily returned his attention to the mare beside him. That was when he noticed the somewhat 'set' expression on her face, one that he was very familiar with after all the time he'd spent listening to the problems of mares. "Selly, are you sure you're ok?"

She nodded at him. "Yes. At least if Quisty injures her, she can fix her. Like that one time.." and she started rambling. Telling all sorts of stories about Yue's various escapoes, and injuries, and... she didn't even know. Finally the teepee was in sight, and she breathed a heavy sigh of relief. "I'm fine, Safi." she turned him a small smile. "And I'll be all better in a bit." She leaned over, nosing him. "Thank you."

Wow, that had really started something. Still, it wasn't like listening to amusing child stories was a hardship, and Safi found himself laughing, or shaking his head, or occassionaly interjecting in surprise as Selene talked about her daughter. Kinda hard to believe that she'd ever thought herself to be a bad mother, given how much she obviously cared.
As the teepee came into sight, he smiled a bit and touched his nose to hers affectionately, returning the gesture. She was such a nice mare, Selene. "You're welcome, of course. Its the least I could do after allowing you to injure yourself so recklessly!" Grinning, he danced away a bit in case she felt like trying to hit him for that comment, but at the same time he was looking at the teepee area with interest. He'd only really been around his own, so this was a new experience. "Does it always look this empty, or do we just have bad timing?"

She grinned, neck snaking after him nipping lightly. "The vampires are probably asleep." Which meant, of course, that Duo was hunting Ohanzee, Yue and Quistis were training, Scherazade was out doing.... well, whatever she did, and Feryal was probably in the river, under the willow, trying to nap. She hated hot weather. As for the others... well, one never knew. "Let's check the teepee first." she said finally.
Feryal wasn't there, so the mare sighed, shifted her weight, and tromped back off towards the water. "Feryal is probably under the willow. If she isn't... well..." she shrugged. "I guess we'll have to see if we can find someone else. I think you'll like her. She's very elegant, and a sweetie."

Chuckling, Safi swatted at Selene as she pulled away from him. "Vampires is right; you bite enough to be chalked right up there with that bunch. And I must have sweet blood!"
Still, he stayed close by Selene, peering around curiously as they inspected the teepee and surrounding area. "So...do you have a large herd?" He remembered hearing that comment at some point; obviously if that was the case, this herd wandered about as much as his did!
He was so wrapped up in comparitive thought that Selene actually left him behind momentarily as she took off, causing him to have to dash to catch up with her. "Wait, what? The one you need isn't around, so we have to find someone else?" How exactly did that help? Were they going to go find her, or find someone else to find her, or... "I'm confused."

Selene smiled. "Pretty big. You never know who is actually going to be here... this is more of a central hub or general place of security for those who are injured. Only Tehya and I ever stay here all the time. Even Yue wanders off with Quisty." she glanced down the river, spotting a familiar lump. "Feryal!" she called.
The unicorn raised her head, blinking sleepy eyes at the moon mare. "Selene! It's been a while." She looked over at Safi, noting the way the stallion was hurrying to catch up to her. "Oh, is he your mate? Congratulations, I never thought you'd settle down." her eyes were wicked, teasing. "I see you already have him chasing after you to keep you tied down."
"Oh, he did that well enough." Selene couldn't resist. "He broke my wing to keep me down."
Feryal tsked. "Men."

Nodding his head Safi completely understood what Selene meant. "Yeah. There's seven in my herd, but Elizabeth is the only one who actually lives in our teepee area. Kinda handy for us wanderers, though, since she's the unicorn."
Following after Selene as he was, he'd almost caught up with her by the time she greeted Feryal and consequently heard the whole exchange. For a moment, his eyes flared in surprise; what sort of strange situation was the unicorn used to if she automatically assumed...but no; this had the serious potential to be something amusing.
As Selene made the crack about him breaking her wing, he managed to get right up beside her and draped a wing possively over her, pulling her close and nuzzling her for Feryal's benefit (although the grin no doubt ruined that illusion). "Hey, I'm sure that someone who's lived with Selly could understand the problems involved in keeping her constant; she's so flighty she'd just up and abandon me if she was able! Really, given the situation what choice did I have?"
Breaking the hold, he laughed and stepped forward, giving the uni mare a courtly bow. "But you're Feryal, I take it? I'm Safi, Selene's friend...in the purest of platonic senses." wink

Selene made a face and nosed at Safi, a bit roughly. "Off, you." she murmured, as he broke the hold and bowed to the unicorn mare. "See what a wicked charmer he is?"
"Indeed." Feryal bowed back, and eyed Selene. "I can see what he means though. Really, always up and wandering about." She smiled at Safi. "And she needs a good friend. We're a rather... ingrown group here. Not used to dealing with outsiders."
Selene snorted. "Indeed." she held out her wing, and there was a short moment of silence while the mare examined it. Her horn bent, and there was silence, broken only by the mare's cheerful humming.
There was no unearthly flash, nothing unusual except for an audible crackling as Selene's wing reknit and fixed itself, repairing the delicate wing. It was painful, but when it was over, her wing was as good as new. "No flying for a few days." Feryal said firmly, nodding. "You know I'm not very good at healing. Never got much practice."

Chuckling, Safi simply stood off to one side, watching the procedings with mild interest. It wasn't as though he'd never been healed by a unicorn before, or seen one of his herdmates healded; but this was a new unicorn and a new injury. To his knowledge, none of his group had ever injured a wing before.
When the unicorn raised her head, though, Safi once again stepped forward, patting Selene on the head with one wing. "There we go, good as new! Though I suppose this meant that you're grounded...so you'd better remember that the next time you're trying to get away from me. I can still fly, remember!" As he spoke, the stallion's eyes narrowed teasingly, reminding her that next time she tried something, he'd be the victor and not her! Still, it was an affectionate tease, because he was truly happy she was alright.

She made a face at him, flexing her wings and looking up at him, eyes stubborn. "Well, then I'll hide in the forest, and you won't be able to get me." she said cheerfully, and boldly leaned over and licked at his cheek, affectionately. "Though you can try." One eye lowered in a teasing wink, and she pranced off a bit. "Thanks Fer!"
The unicorn mare nodded, yawning a bit. "Be careful from now on, trouble."
The mare laughed, nodded, and looked expectantly at Safi. "Ready?"

"As though as simple a thing as a bunch of trees can stop me! Geez, you really have a lot to learn about me, Selly!" Chuckling, Safi swatted at Selene as she licked his cheek, grinning at the challenge she'd suddenly flung in his face. Yep, that was Selly alright, ready and raring to go!
But speaking of ready... "Um, ready for what?" He must have missed the part where they discussed what they were going to do AFTER Selene's wing had been dealt with, because he was drawing a complete and utter blank. "Refresh my memory on what we're going to do now?"
He glanced at Feryal for a moment, as though expecting the unicorn to give him some sort of answer, then simply turned and looked expectantly at Selene. Well, whatever it was that she had in mind was bound to be fun, right?

She gave him a look. One of those looks women can give that can curdle men's blood, making them feel stupid and helpless at the same time... though, she somehow doubted Safi would get the full force of the look. "We're going to the waterfall, of course. Very slowly. And the long way."

Somehow, Safi's genes had built up immunity to THE LOOK; perhaps the fact that he spent most of his time with mares had helped contribute to that immunity, or perhaps it was something else. But whatever the cause, he simply chuckled at the very interesting expression on her face as she glared at him. "Oh, I was supposed to remember that, eh? Sorry, I thought we had a change of plans!"
Grinning brightly, he winked at Feryal and shrugged his shoulders to indicate he was lost even more than she was, then jogged a bit to catch up with Selene. "So sue me for being scatterbrained." It was a strong suit of his, after all! But while they were on the subject. "Are we just taking off now, then?" He'd sort of hoped to see Yue while they were around; it had been so long since he'd seen the filly...
