Lupis looked up at him, alarmed. "No, it's ok, I don't want you to strain your leg anymore. We can stop now." She was having a great time, but she didn't want to cause him pain. "You know, later I have some herbs I think will really help the pain."

"Heh. What a thoughtful little girl you are Lupis." Kurtis smiled and took her hand as they walked back to the pillar where Josie was. Kurtis picking up his cane again and placing most of his weight upon it. His leg absolutly killing him but he refused to say anything more about it. He turned and looked over at the two girls abit before watching as the other couples danced.
"What a lovely sight..."
Kurtis whispered to himself as he watched the couples dancing around..it took him back to the days before his wound..back when he had a family..Though he did his best not to think about it..he could remember it very well...His wife in that lovely blue gown..dancing and twirling..her blonde hair spinning with her as she twirled..It was a lovely sight..But his memory turned sour in an insant..Kurtis remembering her body..torn to bits and tossed around...
Kurtis grumbled abit and placed his fingers at the top of his sinus. Pinching it abit as he closed his eyes tightly. Looking as if he were in immense pain but merely just trying to get rid of that horrid memory... Kurtis wasn't sure how much longer he could stay here..each passing moment just reminded him of her..and that horrid night of her death...

Lupis saw the grimace of pain as he closed his eyes. She recognized the look as one she has had many times. She placed gently hands on his face. "Shall we go? It seems that this place brings back sour memories for you." She said gently.

Kira walked into the ball room, looking at other couples dancing. "Well Rivera... Here we are I guess..." He said, feeling a little nervous about dancing with her. He had studied dancing and such, but he had never truly danced with a girl before for a reason other than practice. He gulped and looked at Rivera. "Alright... I guess you at least understand positions for dancing right?" He asked, hoping he wouldn't have to go into teaching position of the woman's hands, since he had only learned what he needed. He could easilly deal with teaching the steps on the go, but teaching a female where to place her hands would be a little confusing for him.

"Um... yes... positions..." Rivera blushed, not knowing what she was supposed to do with anything. Atlantean dance was probably very different from the modern-day sort. She blushed even harder when she stayed still for longer. "...about that..." She looked around at the others for examples, and got very lost in the sea of limbs. Killing? Great. Sparring? Pretty darn good. Sorcery? Up there somewhere. Cooking? Appealing. Dancing? ... ... ... "... sorry..."

Kira sighed and took Rivera's hands and placed them on his shoulders, then brought her close to him and put one arm around her waist, and the other was across her back, his hand resting on her shoulder. "Now just follow my lead..." He muttered, blushing brightly. This was actually a new experience since he never really danced often. He stepped out a few times and led her around slowly as a very slow melody started to play from the band. He continued leading Rivera. "All you have to do is follow my lead... Okay?" He said gently.

Rivera blushed when she felt her body pressed close against his. She blushed even more when she was stumbling about. The music was a bit slow for her, and being a little unaccustommed to doing anything really slow, Rivera was an obvious klutz at slowdancing. She tried to tell her feet where to go, but then realized she wasn't sure if the place they're supposed to go actually existed as a surface. Her prediction often made her meet the floor either too early or it made her feel like she was getting up the stairs in the dark and tried to step on a step at the top where there isn't a step.
A familiar giggle sounded from behind her. Saraneth smiled at them. She had pinned her hair up looking quite elegant, actually. Her hair was decorated with white flowers. A silver hair clip with dangling crystals fell in chains from the fat, glistening strawberry curls from the back. Her gown was pale gold with crystal drops along the strapless lowcut line. It was quite short, ending in a wide, flared out skirt just above her knees. The jeweled locket was clearly visible at her throat. Fingerless, shoulder length white lace gloves adorned her hands. A pair of 4-inch heeled, white lace-up sandals completed the ensemble.
"Little miss snowbird, you never could go slow... could you?" She waved a hello to them, taking a small sip from the margarita in her hand.

Kira lifted a hand and slightly waved at Sara, not really caring much for her though. He tried his best to keep Rivera from stumbling all over herself and had to steady her quite a few times. "Don't think... Just let yourself go and follow my lead... Let the music and me guide you through the dance..." He whispered gently, still leading her along.

"This body's died twice... I can't feel slow, relaxing things anymore..." She said apologetically, trying to do her best with following along. It was more or less the slowness that was throwing her off. Certain movements always reminded her of some combat technique or another, and her instinct made her want to lash out at something, but she always pulled herself back with no more than maybe a tensing. Saraneth snickered in the background, obviously enjoying this.

Kira continued leading her along until the song was over. "Well... Maybe we should say hi or something..." He muttered, gesturing over to Saraneth. "Of course, personally, I'd rather not go anywhere near her..." He muttered. He hated Kestrel for reasons he couldn't explain. Something about her he just didn't like. He didn't know what, he just didn't like her.

"Hey girl." Saraneth kissed Rivera on the cheek, then looked down at her hand and grinned broadly at Kira. "Finally got the guts, eh?"
"Huh?" Rivera was very confused, yet again. Saraneth gave her a cup of strawberry daquiri, and slid one over to Kira as well.
"A toast to Kira's brain finally kicking into gear!" She laughed and sipped at her cup. It was then that Rivera noticed bandages underneath her long white gloves.
"Did something happen?" Rivera asked softly.
"Oh, nothing much. I got Hitomi her sight back, that's a-- "
"What did I tell you about brining things back from the dead?"
"I didn't bring back an entire life, just a--"
"It belowed there for a reason." Rivera said firmly and softly, Drinking her daquiri.

"And Hello to you too..." Kira said lowly. He took the strawberry daquiri and sipped it cautiously, still not trusting of Saraneth. "My mind has been in higher gear than yours... At least I know the cycle of life flows in one direction... And nothing should ever change that... Creating life takes a great toll on the human mind, body, and soul... Why do you think some parents go crazy?" He asked, giving a slight attempt at humor.
