Colette let herself be lead over, a small smile on her face. She was glad to see Nick in a much better mood then when they had first met and wasn't sure if ti was her or the owl that was causing this. Colette saw that one of them was wearing a sheet made into something and was slightly puzzled at that. She also saw that there was one person who had yet to undergo any changes yet. Colette heard Nick ask his question and then softly sighed.

Sometimes, when you didn't have a great family or a lot of friends, you envied those who did. Noah did, anyways. He always found himself wanting the perfect family, with wide circle of friends. To hear people speak so seemingly nonchalant about being torn away from that life and being turned into an animal...or, it tore him up.

Noah just wasn't grasping how hard it really must have been for Ryan to move on. To him, it seemed that the chatty boy was blowing things off. Yes, Noah did acknowledge that what some of Ryan said was true- if one worried too much about things they couldn't change, it would only cause undue stress. But acknowledging advice and actually taking the advice were two different things.

Huff, huff. Noah kept his teeth bared, the fur on his arms prickling, tail now held out straight. How could someone NOT dwell on the fact they were turning into an animal and that they would never have a normal life ever again? It was easier said than done.

"Lighten up?" he hissed. "Maybe you cahn be happy, but if I had a life as nice as yours seemed...I don't zink it'd be so easy for me to deal vith zings."

Collapse under his own weight...it seemed that he had already done that. yeah, the last change had broken his supprt and everything that had come crashing down- his past, his meager present, the fact he was turning into an animal and what the future might be- it was all resting very heavily on top of him, like an ominous blanket he couldn't crawl out of.

Not that he was trying very hard.

He clacked his teeth together in irritation, but stiffened instinctively at the sound of a new voice and people approaching. His ears twitched upward briefly and he whipped around, still in a sour mood.

He caught sight of the people appraching- tail-girl and feather-boy. He hoped they'd be better company than chatty-boy was right now. The mouse part of him that was starting to surface was content with the social aspect, but his human nature- which was still fairly dominant- was getting nervous. Too many people. Too much of a scene. He wanted to skitter off and go hide in his duplex, in the dark, away from everything.

Somethign else was uncomfrtable with being here, but he wasn't sure what.

He eyed feather-boy and relaxed his mouth, his lips covering his teeth again. There was something about feather-boy that amde him nervous. Ah, he was turning into a bird, wasn't he? Feathery arms and a beaky-mouht coming into being...but what sort of bird? A bird of prey, judging by the talons on the man's feet.

Maybe that was what made him uneasy. The talons. He seemed aimiable enough except that casual 'what animal are you becoming' comment. Great, another one who was eerily at ease. But instead of anger...he was making Noah enrvous. He took an instinctive step backwards, shrinking back timidly. His heart beat had increased now- why was he so anxious? Were the claws that bad? He took a deep breath and exhaled it, the anger he felt a moment before replaced by unease.

"Vhat's it to you?" he asked warily.

Bad feelings. Bad scent feather-boy had. Not strong, but there. Scents, Noah had found, were different than smells. He couldn't explain HOW, but they WERE. This was a bad scent, a very faint 'danger' scent, like a something-that-can-kill-you scent, but not as intense. More like a 'this-can-be-dangerous-and-painful-watch-yuor-a**' scent. It seemed to flicker like a candle, but the fact Noah could detect it bothered him. the fact he didn't FULLY understand his instincts and feelings only served to upset him worse.

Nick stared back at the man in the cloak, he couldn’t tell much about him, except his accent, he’d hidden most of his features well. He let got on Colette’s hand and drew closer since the man had taken a step away from him. He had whiskers, maybe he was something feline, or rodent, Nick was no expert on animals.

“Hmm, why? I’m just asking” he asked, his odd beak mouth making a click noise when he was done.

Georgia took another step back, this man was starting to act more and more like an animal as he got angry and that scared her. Her eyes were wide and she bit her lower lip. She expected him to start pacing back and forth like a caged animal that was shown on TV adverts now and again.

So much for hoping to feel better by coming out of her duplex, now she wished she could back in the comforting darkness and close walls of her own cage in this zoo. A weary glance behind lead her to wonder if she could excuse herself and go back. Being in the open with everyone was making her nervous and she didn't need to be reminded how depressing it was to be trapped here. She wasn't even sure if she could just get on with it the best she can. When you didn't know what you were turning into and what affect it will have on your behaviour it was scary beyond belief.

Georgia snapped out of her thoughts from a strange voice, it seemed the pair that were cuddling earlier had come over. They seemed happy and the girl couldn't help feel a pang of jealousy.

She shrugged at his question. "I don't really want to know." She said quietly, Georgia said that once before her first change and she'll probably keep saying it until she was forcefully shown what she was.

The girl flinched at the sheeted man's response, really not wanting to stay any longer, but before she could quietly excuse herself the man started acting funny, was he scared of something? Of the feathered boy? A frown lit her features, she wasn't very good with animals, nor with what ate what. For all she knew all of the people here could eat whatever she was turning into. That drew a shudder to her form and a feeling of nausia.

Ryan decided that at this point it'd be better to stop talking to the cloaked man, at lest about their fate. He turned when the new people came over, and didn't see Noah's reaction to the bird man. He did look at him though when he asked his question. His demeanor seemed to have changed drastically.

He turned back to the couple, taking their appearance in. "I'm an Armadillo myself, a Little Hairy Armadillo to be exact." He turned slightly, showing them the long hairs that had grow from his back. "And you, " he guestured to the man, "are either a Snowy Owl or a Harpy Eagle. And the lady next to you is obviously an otter."

Ryan couldn't resist asking a few questions relating to her species. "Have you tried any carrots since you changed? It's weird, but otters really like them."

Colette had frowned at the guy hiding under the cloak because of his shying away from Nick. She shook her head and then looked over at the other girl. Colette managed to see the odd markings on her head and assumed that she was probally turning into something with spots. She then looked over at the Armadillo man. "Uhh.. No.... I really don't like carrots anyways.. Why does that matter?" Colette asked.

“I’m a snowy owl actually, thanks” He pause for a moment and stared at his back hairs “Armadillo eh? I hope it won’t be too painful for you”.

He giggled a little at his carrot comment, somehow the thought of Colette munching carrots down amused him greatly.

“Hehe, maybe you should try them Colette, you mind find them tasty now hehe” He scratched at his stomach a bit “Speaking food, I’m starting to feel hungry, I haven’t eaten in a while.”

Noah snorted at feather-boy's response, but kept a defensive posture. Just asking? it wasn't as much what he had asked as much as how he asked it. Was that what passed for conversation on this island? 'O hay, wut r u turnin' into?' He let a long breath hiss between his inscisors. Then again, there didn't seem like much else to talk to on this island...and a part of him knew that avoiding talk about what was happening wouldn't change anything.

Still, he'd rather not discuss his mutation.

"Vhat lousy conversation." he spat, still unhappy.

Why did everyone seem so nonchalant? Well, correction. The Unchanged One and patchy-girl seemed less than thrilled about being torn away from family to be turned into animals. He did feel pity for them; they had a life. He supposed that even chatty-boy was unhappy. He's just making the best of this, he told himself, trying to calm down. Maybe they all are.

A part of him started to come back, started to fight against the frenzy his mind had been thrown into a few days ago. Humanity. But it seemed to ebb away again once the phrase snowy owl was mentioned. Owl. Owls ate mice (which was what Noah decided he was probably turning into after the moust recent change). He was standing with a person who was turning into something that would want to eat him. Oh god. That explained the 'thing-that-can-kill-you' scent that feather-boy was giving off. The fact he was only part-changed explained the faintness of the scent. it was still there though, and making Noah nervous.

He took another step back, eyeing him nervously. He...he was only partly changed. they were both only partly changed. There...there would be no danger of being eaten of attacked yet, right? No, not in thses awkward states. Feather-boy seemed to be relatively unaffected by the animal inside of him, right? But ho long would THAT last?

Maybe...maybe if he befriended him. befriended him now, he wouldn't eat him later, right?

Oh, the comment about being hungry didn't help at all, and Noah swallowed deeply, tail droping down low. Ah, no good! Even if he wouldn't be eaten in this state...oh, it still worried him. Bother, bother, bother. he hoped he didn't look like an appetizer...but then again, no one had really seen under his cloak yet...so he felt safe for the moment. Safe in his cloak. Safe from them.

Really now, Georgia was getting fed up with this german man. He wasn't the only one feeling upset and crummy about all this, but it didn't mean he should be rude to the others! They were only trying to help afterall.

She had the urge to tell him to get lost then if he didn't like what they were talking about and opened her mouth to do just that before her nerves gave way and forced it back shut. The tears pricked at her eyes again, this wasn't what she hoped for when she came to the beach. It was supposed to relax her, to help clear her mind and now she just wanted to go back. A nice hot shower sounded very appealing and anyway it was starting to get hard to see everybody in the growing darkness.

"I've got to go... bye." Georgia voice sounded strained and didn't bother with an excuse, as she turned and hurried back down the path, hot tears gushed down her face. For once she didn't scorn herself for crying, there was every reason to do so, but still held back the sobs until she felt she was out of hearing. A feeling of sickness overwhelmed everything else suddenly sapping her of her strength. Going to bed sounded much more appealing to her now.

Autumn, too, gave the tailed-man a strange look. It didn't comfort her, either, being compared to zoo animals.

"I'm sorry, but to me, the idea of being treated like an animal at a zoo doesn't sound that thrilling," she said with a bitter tone. She also agreed with Noah after his little rant & a quick flashing of his rodent-like teeth. "I also never did wish for a tail when I was a kid," she claimed, even though she had faint memories of wanting a tail back when she was only about 7 or so. Autumn figured that before the end of it all, she would regret ever thinking that.

Autumn looked over as the feathered-man, along with another girl wandered over & barged in with a lovely question. "Me, I have no clue yet," she replied, her voice still tainted by anger. He's seems to be taking this rather lightly, too, she thought. Either that, or he was very good at hiding his thoughts & emotions. Her eyes darted towards Georgia upon her statement of not wishing to know what it was she was turning into. Autumn took the time to take a quick glance & get a somewhat better look at what was happening to her. So far, all she could see was what appeared to be black patches of skin, leaving her wondering what they decided to turn Georgia into.

Autumn frowned when Ryan inquired about what animal the bird-man was turning into. "What is it with you? Do you find some sort of amusement bugging people to learn what the hell they're turning into?" she asked, just after the owl-man informed the crowd what kind of bird he was changing into.

Her eyes managed to notice Noah take a step back, which Autumn raised a brow. When she combined the two 'animals,' an owl & a rodent, it seemed like a bad match. Was the mouse instincts acting up & affecting him?

Suddenly, Georgia ran off, claiming she had to go. She looked very upset. With a sigh, she picked up a small rock & threw it out into the water. "This place is so freakin' messed," she muttered to herself.

“Oh…err…s-sorry, I was just a question, sorry if you’re not…used to it.”

He felt disappointed at the group; he and Colette had been in such high spirits, comfortable about their new forms. He supposed not everyone could be in a good a mood as he was.

“What? I don’t think it’s funny at all!” he replied to Autumns accusation, his feathers ruffling a little. Hmph, the nerve of her, like he’d ever find something like that funny.

“But we’re all in the same boat, you might as well try to get used to it. He turned to Noah as took another step away from him. He got closer to, til he was face to face with him.

“C’mon, take that thing off, it’s silly” he said still trying to sound cheerful, as tugged at his cloak.

Colette frowned at the others and crossed her arms. This wasn't how she thought things were going to go. She sighed as she watched Georgia run off and she then walked over to Nick. "Hey.. Please.. Stop, all right?.. Just let him be," Colette said as she tried to pry Nick's hands off of the cloak.

"Oh, I don't think we gave introductions; I'm Ryan." He said, holding out his clawed hand to the newcomers. "Yeah, he's right, you should try some carrots now, you'll probably really like them."

"Take care!" He waved as georgia ran off, keeping a cheerful tone to try and keep her spirits up. Like that was working so far.

Ryan immeadiately noticed how Noah reacted; the image of an owl at the zoo tearing apart a mouse he had fed it popped into his mind. He really hoped that wouldn't happen here.

He turned when Autumn spoke. "Like it or not, that's what we're in." He sat down and laid back on the still warm sand, his hands behind his head. "You people are too high strung. Whatever happened to make lemonade and all that?" He lifted his head up at Autumn's question. "Working with animals has been all I ever wanted to do. I'm just applying what's left of my old life to my current situation."

Noah shrunk back as Georgia darted off. Oh, what had he done now. He thought for a moment of grabbing her, or going after her and apologizing- what for, he wasn't sure but he'd figure it out when he got there- but for some reason, he didn't move. Couldn't move. He just watched her dart off, feeling bad. Why did he feel it was all his fault? She just seemed so sad...

He sighed and turned back to the group, still a bit on edge. He was aaware of Autumn's discontent too. Finally, someone who agreed with him. And he agreed with her last statement- this place was messed up. Terribly messed up. What a bad place.

"Get used to it? Get used to it? How can you sa--oy, vhat are you doing?" he yelped, cut off as owl-boy (as he was now named in Noah's mind) leaned close to him and grabbed for his cloak.

Personal space. he was in his personal space bubbly. Waaay too close. He flailed and slapped as owl-boy's hands with his own paws, which apparently had little mice claws in place of nails, as well as a faint layer of fur on the tops. He toppled over backwards as he tried to lean away, landing on his backside in the sand. He crimped his tail a little as he fell and he winced, shifting quickly. Sitting on your own tail was akin for Noah to biting your own tongue. Unpleasent.

As he went down, his hood flapped back from his face.

He scrabbled back a little bit to give himself some space. He knew he shouldn't have come over here. He knew he should have stayed in his duplex. Now he was exposed to everyone, to a bird of prey...

Irrationality seemed to be prevailing here. He sat there trembling on the sand, ears back, rodent-teeth chattering in fear.

His face was now exposed in the fading light of the late afternoon. His eyes were a dull gray, having lost a lot of pigment in the last change. By the next change, there was a distinct possibility they'd be totally red. His face...it looked mostly human. The facial sturcture still resembled a human, but Noah nose had started to take the vague semblance of a mouse's, though his face hadn't just barely begun to push out in a snout, though it was hardly noticable. His skin seemed pale...very pale, and on closer inspection, it seemed it was light growth of white fur that covered his face. His mouth was still human, though the upper lip was starting to take the shape of a rodent's.

He looked like a monster. That how he felt about himself, anyways. He gave a nerous squeak and lifted his hands up to cover his face and sheild his eyes from the light.

"Don't...don't look..." he whimpered, ears drooping in shame, locks of shaggy near-white hair falling into his face. Maybe this was what he deserved...

He turned towards Colette, “O-okay, I guess were not wanted her- “Ouch hey!” Nick yelped as Noah suddenly slapped him. He took a few steps back, rubbing face to mentally ease the pain.

Looking down, Noah was trembling and the mere sight of him. He was a mouse. No wonder he’d been so reluctant to speak to him. Though, truth be told, Nick did have a taste for raw meat since his change, but it was hardly strong enough to urge him into eating a fellow Islander.

“S-s-orry, I didn’t know” he stuttered, now feeling an immense pang of guilt “You don’t have to be scared, I’m still human” (A white lie) “I-I’ll leave if you want.” He turned around to face Collette, already preparing to leave before Noah could answer.
