Luckily Reiha was very good at pronoucing words. She smiled over at Berial at his vote of confidence. Korbin also nudge her to tel her he also believed in her. Silently of course but you didn't need words with the bond those two had. Reiha smiled down at him too. As she reached down to give him a stroke before looking up at Erik as well.
"Alright, I can do it" She held the crystal out infront of her, frowning as she stared at it hard. She imagined it going dark, wanted it too, to prove that she could do it. Then when she felt something...click her mouth opened and whispered, "Kshonna"

Erik beamed as the crystal went dark.. "perfect.. That was perfect.." He said.. No explosions, no sparks, ntohign, just the etinguishing of a light.
Berial was clapping with pride.. She ahd done it.. He himself had never tried, Erik didn't allow him enar the crystals until they had an idea of what the mark was and how it'd react to him casting.. He accpeted this, for now..

Korbin smiled proudly as he let out a proud little caw, flapping into the air to kind of clap his wings before he landed again. He was on the ground now while Reiha played with magic. It was one of the few times that he didn't mind that he was on the ground, not with the smile that was on Reiha's face.
Reiha was smiling happily, "Thank you Erik" she said happily, smiling at the dark crystal. She did that. All by herself. "Can I light it up again?" she asked hopefully, looking up at the scholar of a man. She wanted to know everything she could about magic. So some day she could learn how to fly.

"Sure, but you have to be a lot more careful with the incantation.. It's Elea ie' dome." He said the incantation slowly, so that she could heard the pronounciation correctly.. He'd motched up that spell the first time, recievig a small burn on hsi fingers, but that was better than the results of some of the othr spells.

"Elea ie' dome" she repeated carefully before she contrated on the crystal. She whispered it under her breath till she was sure she got it. So she was chanting it softly for several minutes before she grew quiet again. Time streatched out as she stared at the crystal, imagining it lighting up, shine brightly, make Berial smile and Korbin caw again. Make Erik say perfect. Be the first step to her launching herself into the sky. So much could be achived with just a simple,
"Elea ie' doma" she whispered and the crystal sparked, burned her hand as she flew back the hot crystal flying up into the air. Korbin flew up suddenly, snatching the crystal, ignoring it's burning tempature, holding it till it cooled as he circled over Reiha worried. She just got up though, pounting to herself
"I can do it" she muttered, "Give it to me again" she ordered Korbin who obediently droped the crystal into her burnt hands. She ignored it though. Nothing was going to stop her till she got this right. She was going to fly damnit! And the first step to flying and she would take it if it killed her.

Erik jumped at the spark and worry filled his features. "Reiha." He said, moving over to the girl quickly. "We shoudl take care of your fingers before you try again." He said, recognizing the look of determination in ehr eyes..
This snapped Berial out of his cloudwatching daze. His eyes went to the crystal immediatly and he saw her hands. "They hurt you!" He said, then turned accusing yes on Erik. "Wy'd you give her them if they hurt?!" He said, his voice rising.
Erik paled at the fact that Berial was.. well shouting at him. He'd never heard the small child raise his voice before, and being as he ws, even a small child screaming made him slip into his non-confrontational attitude. "Berial.. I dind't think.."He stuttured..

"No!" Reiha's voice was a bullet, shooting though the air, demanding silence as it passed. "No! I will not give up!" she groweled, holding the crystal in her hand and staring at it. She saw it oh so clearly now, wnating it so very much. Her determination was strong. Her anger over failing stronger.
She wanted this and Reiha would damn well get it. So long she had control over it she would get it. She had nothing to fear from what she could control. She just didn't have good control last time is all. She wont make the same mistake twice. She wont!
"Elea ie' dome!" she snapped the words out so fircely the crystal flashed again but this time the flash didn't burn, it was just bright and the crystal soon was back to it's gental glow as she looked at it and smiled, "I did it" she said proudly.

Erik had been about to snatch the crystal from her hands when she spoke, but it just lit up.. Just light, and he breathed a sigh of relief. "very good, but.. I.. let's get inside so I can put something on your burns.."
Berial's breif bout of anger subsided at Erik's frightened face and he turned his eyes onto Reiha. "Reiha? You okies?' He asked, making sure the cyrstal didn;t do a lot of damage.. He stared at her hands, taking in the rawness.. She was hurt.

Reiha smiled at the crystal, she kept it too her body and loked up at Erik. "Can I take this crystal home? And will you write down the words so I can practice them on my own time?" Reiha was such a little scholar. She wanted to learn, to know, entirely, because then she could fly some day.
"Yeah, I'm fine Berial" she brushed off his worry. "It's just little burns" she asured him, "Nothing major. This sort of thing happens. It was my fault anyway. I'm the one that made the mistake" Reiha didn't even seem to notice the burns on her hands, not with first the string of faluire and now the thrill of victor and she wouldn't notice, when both wore off because the pain was her fault.

Erik seemed hesitant at first, but thn he sighed.. "Yes.. You can keep it.." He said, standing slowlya dn once again brushing the grass from his form before he bend down to pick up the remainder of the crystals..
He seemed a bit reassured by this and he got up, eyeing the crystals warily.. He didn't like it when people got hurt.. He wanted to protect people.. "You'll be more careful, right?" He asked, almost mother henning right now as Erik started abck towards the house.

"Thank you Erik" Reiha said happily, then she stared at the crystal, looking at it hard before murrmering, "Kshonna" The crystal went sucessfully dark and she smiled, tucking the rock away as she looked up at Berial. "Don't worry, I promise I'll be careful with magic okay? And if I'm every hurt bad I'll let you know" she told the boy, giving im a hug, grining with her victory.
Korbin was also worried as he stood carefully on the ground, one foot pulled up, he flapped up to Reiha, landing happily in her hands, he couldn't stand very well, not with one of his feet badly burned as it was, after all he was burned just like Reiha with that crystal. Just no one noticed him. He felt better when Reiha stroked him. She must not of been hurt too bad if she could still do that.

Berail seemed quickly reasssured and he grinned. "ok.. I just.. dun' like it when you get hurt.." He said, trying to tell ehr that he didn't dissuade of ehr casting magic. He was jsut a worry wart liek that.
Erik opened the door and strode inside the house quickly, dropping the crystals on a table by the fishtank. "I'll be abck, please stay in the living room." He called out, before leaving down a thin door, which could have been easily mistaken for a closet.

Reiha nodded vaugly at Erik as she continued to stroke Korbin and watch Verial. "Don't worry about it Berial" she asured him. "Pain is passing, and it's easy to ignore if you think about it right. And I understand why, I don't want you hurt ether" she told him honestly, "But sometimes it happens. Life is full of pain after all, you just have to ignore the small stuff and contrate on the important things. Like I did it" she told him happily. "I really, really did it"

He nodded softly, lsitening.. He jsut, felt the need to protect people, and he couldn't and they got hurt.. He felt hurt too.. "you did it.." He said, trying to focus on the good, like she said. She had done it..
Erik emerged, a tube of some green goopy stuff in his hands. Knelling down by Reiha he held out a hand.. "I.. give me your hand please.." He said.. He' been hurt plenty times before and there were few things that made him feel worse than beign forced intoa remedy.

"No" she said keeping her hands from Erik. "It was my mistake, and my wound. They aren't that bad, I just want some bandaids to cover the wounds," she said quickly, then she picked up Korbin, showing his foot.
"Help Korbin. It wasn't his mistake, he was just helping me" Reiha said softly, "He didn't deserve to be burned" Reiha didn't really notice the pain in her hands but she felt so bad that Korbin burned his foot.
