Leavaros
This is my third year of Latin, and you-know-who teaches it. I have learned very much in my time in that class.
-LD

P.S. And a happy birthday to Ms. Glory and Ms. Kiyome!

Hehe, maybe I should take a Latin class! Then again... It didn't interest me when my friend described it.

Thanks for the happy birthday! 3nodding

It's really hard to find a good Latin teacher. But I did! And I'm loving the class! It's one of the reasons I even bother to go to school anymore.... And for friends/social interaction. I could never be a hermit....

Vale!

I figured being pale and red would look more like a candy cane xp *models her new clothes* see? I'm all wintery and spiffy ^.^

At the library with three little girls, I let them get 23 books. Momma and older sister scolded me crying but the little girls had a good time. Hehehe... ninja

Oh, well that's good (kinda, sorta, maybe.). By the way, if you find a Megan Lindholm book, let me know, okay?

I got....7 books, only two are actually fantasy (I'm a bad fantasy guild member crying ). They are "Lirael" by Garth Nix and "Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell" by Susanna Clarke. I got another book I've seen recommended, "Laughterhouse-Five" by Kurt Vonnegut.

I couldn't stand the idea of reading Artemis Fowl or any of the LotR's x.x I would almost gather chew off my arm.

Now Glory, you must remember the original post in this thread. LOTR (and even Artemis Fowl) have their place in Fantasy's History. Even if they are hard to get through, I think that it's still a good thing to read them to see the progression (or evolution if you will) of such a powerful genre.

With love, and a finger pointing to yesteryear and yesterpage alike,

Like I said... I'd rather chew my arm off. whee

But I'm going to try to read them. Eventually. Someday. When I'm super bored and on a deserted island that's completely flat and made of solid stone. And I've tried to drown myself in the ocean a few times

Then, I will try to read them.

I take it that you don't like Tolkein very much. That's a shame, he is hte father of modern fantasy. Every reader writer of the Fantay style should read him. You can learn a lot.

In any case, Merry Christmas, and now, I must depart.

No, I'm not a big fan, although I liked the LotR's movies ^_^ ...I may have said this already... but I don't like because he's...he's..he's just too wordy! crying Just....so many words! So...so...SLOW! gonk Glory needs her action and gore.

I will try again one day...one day when I'm not actually on an island or anything. Heh, I just thought of something... I actually don't think I'm a big fan of the fantasy genre. I think I mostly like historical novels with some fantasy elements, but not full blown fantasy. I like my reality with a dash of the improbable and the impossible <.<
