With a twist of her foot, Syn turned and strode over to the desk, seating herself and picking up the quill pen, twirling it deftly. For a moment she paused, allowing herself to drift into nostalgia of the Bank at Toulon, her eyes growing distant.
"Ahh, the smell o' the ink an' the parchment, the feel o' the wood o' the desk 'round me, the light touch o' the feather, the sound o' the taskmaster smacking the nearest person wit' a stick, remindin' us if we aided pirates we'd be flogged..."
She blinked and one of her odd, satisfied smiles crossed her face.
"I always did hate me job there."
Strange thing to say after reminiscing so 'fondly', but she seemed to like her occupation on the ship far more. Without further ado she dipped the quill in the ink and began writing furiously in surprisingly neat, well-formed handwriting, not only recording what had just been said after she had received her orders, but the plan and all that had been spoken before she was given the writing tools. It seemed the Bank of Toulon had trained her well in that respect, at least.

Baxter said nothing of the Captain's plan. However, looks of doubt were easily visible on his face.

Carefully, Destiny slipped out the back of the room, and made her way back to her galley- to check on dinner.. it wouldn't do to serve burned food. That would be a waste.
She hoped that she wouldn't disturb anyone by slipping out. She opened the door just wide enough to slip through, then carefully shut it noiselessly behind her. She smiled at Jaden outside the door, then quickly made her way back to the galley.

*Seeing looks of approval, Jack set his sights upon Dr. Baxter, who... in a gaze that threw ice, looked on disapprovingly. It was quite obvious that something had struck a chord with Baxter, but what could it be. Jack supposed that only a long rant would bring that out of him.*
"Right, well... my plan is not set in stone of course. Any plan of action is constantly in dire need of sprucing up from time to time. So, if anyone has any ideas, please speak your mind."
*Locking eyes with Baxter, an eery, false smile crept over his face*
"Doctor, you speak without words, my dear sir. Pray, do tell us what is brimming from your mind. Is it the idea of even setting foot ashore? Would you rather attempt to out run the Fleet? I do beg you, please look alive and speak your mind. I want to ring every last drop of brilliant thought from each of your minds... including my own."

*allows her thoughts to be heard* Well, I think that fleeing them should be our backup plan. While it is a sound plan that makes sense, I think it should be noted that there is no way we can do that. *smirks* While a skirmish at sea would make me very happy, I'd rather see us all alive at the end of this. *raises her eyebrows, and extends her idea to the officers and Captain* Alright, here's what I propose to do: We go along with the Captain's plan. The few people and I will go down and take care of the battery. That will lend distraction enough to hold the fleet off you and focus upon us. While we're on land, you're at sea, heading in the opposite direction of the coast. As soon as you're out a few miles, head north. While you all are outrunnin' the sea fleet, us on the ground will have to survive. We might not take out the battery, but we'll make enough of a distraction with the bombs I have planned for the town for you to get away, savvy?

Reginald sighed. He then began once more, "Your expecting another Toulon. We caught the British stationed there offgaurd and at a relaxed state. It won't happen a second time. You've hit them once, and now they know the Lady. They know it's crew, and now they will be prepared. There will be far more than 55 men down there. Odds are that you'll be facing an entire battalion.
Now had we set out of Toulon immediately after we finished our raid, we might have had a chance at catching the British here at a lax state, but we lingered for far too long. A dispatch rider has surely reached them by now. They have no doubt been drilling and preparing ever since word of Toulon has reached them. The crew is tired, and low on morale. If you insist on assaulting the battery, I fear your going to an execution, not a victory.
I pray I'm wrong." Baxter lowered his head, cradling his forehead in his hand.

*Looks over to Baxter, then to the rest of the officers*
The same fate could as well happen if we strait out and flee; a distraction could be of great help.
I as you my recall, I was not involved in your toulon raid... They did see me back when i was up on the cliff side, as well as seen me fall, in there eyes, there not sure if I'm crew or not. I volenteer myself to head to shore, claim I have info regarding weaknesses of this ship, falsly of course. They may not believe me, but they'll most likely hear me out, but to get that far, I need to look as if im not part of this crew and escaped, soooo, I purpose someone beat the crap out of me so I look believeable.

"Tempting, Mr. John... but no go."
*Considernig his options, Jack looks about the room; his brain obviously cranking it's gears. Had he hoped for another Toulon? Perhaps. As he pondered over these things, a thought arose: 'Am I growing pompous?' The answer 'Probabley' was negatively growing in the back of his mind when a distant low rumble could be made out over the din of the wardroom.*
"That's not thunder..."
*Standing from his seat, Jack ran to the door and hollared up to the helmsman.*
"MAKE FOR THE SEA, MR. VANSTRING: AS FAST AS EVER YOU CAN. SET THE TOPGALLANTS & RAISE THE FORECOURSE."
*A fiant, yet muffled 'Aye, aye, sir' could be heard uttered ondeck. Crossing the room, Jack grabbed a spyglass off the wall where a rack of them were hung. Pulling the glass to it's fullest extent, he placed it to his eye and gazed out the stern windows in the direction of the Shore Battery.
Nothing. Not a cloud of smoke, nor a sign of any activity hanging about the high embankments where the long muzzles of the heavy guns protruded from their places of hiding. The sky was clearer for the most part, so thunder was out of the question. As if in reply to his ponderings, a cry was heard from above deck.*
"ENEMY SHIP OFF THE LARBOARD!!!"
*As soon as the call had been said, Jack rushed once more to the hatch way leading to the quarterdeck. Looking back upon the gaggle of officers, he smiled a queer boyish-grin.*
"There's your answer, my good fellows: we shall run like smoke and oakum. We'll fly every scrap of canvas if we have too. We must survive this day.. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a ship to run. Gentlemen, Ladies... report to your stations."
*Quickly grabbing his hat, he taps it on his head and bounds up the ladder to the quarterdeck.*

Baxter squeezed the bridge of his nose once more, "It is as I feared."
Baxter calmly stood up and proceeded to walk up to the deck.

Shaking her head at the unwanted news, she got up and pushed a few curls back into place. Smoothing her rumpled shirt she looked at the Captains retreatig back, worried this would be the last time she would see him. Noting the doctors obvious distress worried her even more causng her tiny eyebrows to knit together in annoyance. Tossing her head, she looked around,
"Well, what are we all waiting for?"
Turning she exited the room after the captain.

*The sudden thunder and shake from the warning shot made her jump to her feet. Something was definitely wrong. She reached for the ties that up her arm frog and drew her dagger. The next thing that happened was the door swinging open and the flurry of officers, including the Doctor and John running up to the deck. It was obvious that she wasn't going to be escorting John anywhere at this point, so she too ascended to the main deck*

Staring around at the assembled officers, Dr. Morgan sheepishly wondered what he was doing there- he was nothing more than a stowaway, he would have figured. It took him a while, but eventually it clicked- he actually was supposed to be a part of this discussion. He sat quietly and let a plan form in his mind- wounded as he was he knew he would not be of any use were fighting to occur.
After listening and puzzling for a few minutes, an idea struck him, one that had a serious potential for working. He raised a finger to indicate he had a thought... boom just as he was about to speak his mind, the rest of the assembled rushed off above decks, leaving him looking very confused and flustered. Mumbling, he grabbed the cane he had been given and made his way up to the main deck, still weak but much better after his rest- though he'd still be worthless in a fight. Perhaps he could catch the captain to let him know of his option.

Putting aside her quill and parchment, Syn dashed up onto the main deck with the rest, already singing a bawdy tune under her breath as she went. Tuslo flapped behind her, managing to catch up and land on her shoulder.
