This discussion thread has been so helpful to me as a general set of helpful guidelines to try make sure I was following in sprit. Thank you so much for all your investment in this, Arri! ^~^
Quick question, are critiques open to those who have completed their quests? If so I'd love to purchase one, though I understand if people still questing need to have priority. X3
I think certain aspects of my Addie are similar to Dusty and I'd never want to step on your toes in any way. If you ever get a chance to swing by the thread, feel free to post or PM me with anything you'd like me to tiptoe around or just stay clear of. I gots mad respeck for the deerkitten, yo. <3

I'd be happy to do a critique for a finished quest, just as much as one currently going! <3 And I'll take a look; I've skimmed the quest before, but I didn't look too far beyond the basic character design.

I picked over the personality, Tweek, and I definitely don't think there'll be a problem. Dusty and Addie share a few traits, sure, but a general "trouble-causing" personality isn't something I'd think to lay claim to. Especially given that there've been many Fa'e before Dusty like that (Dil and Xo, just to name the easy ones), and I'm counting on there being many Fa'e after. x3
The main thing I would suggest is that, when Addie comes around and you're trying to get her personality defined clearly and seperate from any other Fa'e similar, is to focus in on the parts of it that are most important to the character itself and try to develop the traits from there. For example, with Dusty, the heart of her problems were and always will be trying to be noticed and prove herself better than others, due to her background as Excalibur's scabbard; the way she finds to do that is to try and prove her physical superiority, and from there on, most of her personality develops itself from those key points. So, try and analyze the root of the reason for Addie's behavior, and try to build on that. 3nodding

Thanks so much, that's great to hear. If I ever overstep my bounds feel free to give me a slap on the wrist. Just with Addie's dark skin and petulant attitude, there are already a couple big similarities and I'm going to try to differentiate her from the start as I would never want to feel like I was ripping off Dusty in any way. heart
At this point I think I want the main essence of Addie's personality to be simply animalistic, as her legend is an animal spirit. I'm just looking for a feral kind of personality that lends itself to irritation regarding anything other than exactly what Addie wants to do herself. Like most wild animals, though, she has a strong idea of hierarchy, and doesn't always expect to be on top. I actually think she'd make a better follower than a leader, providing she found someone she deemed worthy. Hmm, I feel like I need to make that more clear in her personality section the more that I think of it...
See, you've already got me brainstorming! ^.^
Which reminds me, I'll send the trade over now. Looking forward to the critique whenever you get around to it, but take your time of course. biggrin
