Got a question though, I've got all of the Dead Witch Walking series (the wonderful lady at Media Play before Karma took it from me... recommended it n I bought them all n am thoroughly enjoying myself now) which amounts to 3 as far as I know, does anyone know if there's anymore out there?

I've been reading some good books I'll like to share with one and all... Full Moon Rising by Keri Arthur which is about a half werewolf and half vampire who tries to find her missing twin brother and I loved it! The next two I got from the LKH message board I got Something Wicked by Evelyn Vaughn is about a nurse that family are witches but she give it up until she found her sister dead and cursed the man that killed her then finds out she said the wrong name which means the wrong man is cursed. She tries to learn her heritage and come to terms with her magic. Last but not least Kitty and the Midnight Hour by Carrie Vaughn is about a werewolf DJ that tries to help her paranormal community through her radio show. All of these are great reads....enjoy!

Vixen13 FenrisVollmond Ages back I read a couple of good books that I haven't ever seen again... Silver Kiss Blood and Chocolate Both by Annette Curtis Klaus. Silver Kiss is a vampire book. It was quite good actually but I didn't enjoy it as much as... Blood and Chocolate is the werewolf book. Very good, or at least I thought so. She wrote 3 books total. And Blood and Chocolate was better than Silver Kiss, I agree. But Alien Secrets is her best work. It's SciFi tho... obviously. I own all three. ^.^ I know of another really good vamp series.... but for the life of me I can't think of the name of it.... bah.... It's kinda annoying. It was a series... thin lil books... vamp books.... Gah! I hate brain farts... I know what you're talking about, but for the life of me, I can't remember the authors name. But isn't 'In the forests of the Night' one of them? -this book series is really good, in my opinion. I would suggest it to any of you.-

I'm almost done with Broken by Kelley Armstrong.
It's a must read book. If you haven't read the first five, I also recommend those too. 3nodding

Now, I KNOW that nobody has mentioned this book yet (for a good reason, as it isn't completely like the Anita Blake series) but it's still an amazing read for people that like stories about the "real" world and magic.
It's called The Book of Shadows by James Reese.
It's a very original plotline. For instance, the main character, Herculine, is a hermaphrodite. Another original thing is that the story takes place in France, about 20 or so years after the French Revolution. The story deals alot with disillusionment, finding ones place, and acceptance. Unfortunately (or fortunately) it has a couple raunchy scenes, but it's not completely filled with sex like Narcissus in Chains was.
Plotwise, Herculine is an orphan that is rescued from a nunnery by an incubus and a succubus. She's taken to the mansion of a witch, where she also meets up with a demon and a human. She begins to train in magic under the suggestions of the witch's book of shadows (sort of a diary of magic do's and don'ts) and quests to put the spirit of the succubus at rest.
I don't do the story justice by my summary, but I REALLY REALLY suggest you read it. It has a sequel, The Book of Light (I think), but I haven't read it yet so I can't reccomend it for sure.
And, like my precedents, I HIGHLY reccomend the following books:
Sunshine by Robin McKinely
The Dresden Files by Jim Butcher
Dead Witch Walking by Kim Harrison
Sabriel by Garth Nix

Probably already know this but her latest 'A Fistful of Charms' came out today and her next book is coming out in about nine months and is called, by amazon anyway, A Few More Demons. Quote: Quote: I know of another really good vamp series.... but for the life of me I can't think of the name of it.... bah.... It's kinda annoying. It was a series... thin lil books... vamp books.... The author's name is L.J Smith. Katie MacAlister has some funny vampire books as well.

Narniakat I love Dead Witch Walking!!! I just finished Minion by L.A.Banks and have just started the second book in that series, The Awakening. They are very good so far. I bought the book Bitten by Kelley Armstrong, but haven't read it yet. You mentioned Dime Store Magic by her, is it good? Is it related to Bitten at all? I saw Dead Witch Walking about a month ago and put that on my list of books to read.

Dark Hunter series by Sherrilyn Kenyon is good, but it usually only follows one Dark Hunter at a time, so that gets a bit annoying. But, the series on a whole is great.
Sabriel, Lirael, and Abhorsen by Garth Nix were all AMAZING! Some of the most emotional stuff I've read. Then again, I was 13 at the time.
I've read Blood and Chocolate and it was great. A really good werewolf book. I really liked the pack setting of the book.
The Sookie Stackhouse series is similar to the Anita series. But, so it the Dark Hunter series. I read Harris's series a while ago, and I just recently finished the first book by Kenyon. I suggest everyone reads at least the first book about Kyrian of Thrace.

Blood Bound by Patricia Briggs and Kissing Sin by Keri Arthur were great! I just wished blood bound was a little bigger.
My current TBR pile includes The Becoming by Jeanne C. Srein and The Rest Falls Away by Colleen Gleason.
Anyone have any recs?

I have recently found a series called Rogue Angel by Alex Archer. Each book has its own title, but the first book in the series is Destiny. It isn't really like the Anita Blake books in that there aren't any vamps or weres, but they do have paranormal flavor to them. The main character is an Archeologist and she has fighting skills that would definitely rival Anita's.

It's not exactly like the Anita Blake series but it is about vampires. P.N. Elrod is an absolute genius vampire author. The Vampire Files series is about a vampire during the 1930's or so and it's (for the first few books, anyway) about a man who wakes up dead with no idea how he got that way. So basically, a vampire solving his own murder; it's a great blend for people who like vampires as well as a good mystery novel. I also think it's a great break from all the sexsexsexEMOsexsex of Anne Rice's books and such. (Not that I'm not a fan of Anne Rice, it just gets tiring after a while.)
