I play trumpet in band. In concert band, there is only one other girl plays trumpet (There are like seven other boys who play trumpet). We also have a jazz band at school, I am the only girl in that band.

Puppa No offense (especially since I am one...), but girls seem to talk a lot more than guys (at least the ones in our band), and even if there are guys that talk a lot, they talk about more interesting stuff. I don't think I could stand playing the flute, or being surrounded by a bunch of the girls in our band (aside from a select few).
Of course, I get a bit of a reprieve from being surrounded by guys, since one of the people I sit next to is a girl. We do talk during class, but not a lot, and we know when to shush.
I can still be myself around anyone, though, especially if I know them. so true lol

I'm play Baritone (one from 5 players, all girls), with Tiara, Inri, Sis Dhyra, and a girl that I always forgot her name. I like them all, except Inri. She always make me angry, start from ask me to pick her mouthpiece, ask me to get her Baritone case (that very heavy, a new instrument was very heavy, like Euphonium), and ask me to bring her Baritone (with my baritone, stands, warm-up book, and carpet.). It's okay if she say, 'thank you!' but she NEVER does it! And she always said, "Ocha, you was very stupid play the Si note flat like that!' or 'Shut up, I wanna play!' so if I should play solo, I was afraid got flat and always wrong because I can't try the note. Thats why I hate Inri. My best friend play Euphonium, Tasa, always help me with my case (I use an old Baritone that broken at the bell, broken at mouthpiece receiver, and lose one water key) that placed very high, so I must take a risk (to broke my neck) when I replace it. I place the case on my head and push it. But Tasa always help me.. thanks, Tasa!!! wink

I'm mainly a flute/piccolo, but I picked up trumpet for jazz band. It's quite fun, in our jazz band we only have one guy brass! XD
For the past few years, we've only had one or two girl trumpets, and two girl french horns, and a trombone. This year we've got 4 girl freshmen trombones, it's pretty cool. And one girl who actually plays trumpet and one (me) who's mainly a flute but plays enough trumpet to handle jazz band without totally and completely embarassing herself. Barely. And we have a girl tuba!!
