Nyghtbringer Depends on which album. I thought that Spiritual Black Dimensions and Death Cult Armageddon were astoundingly weak albums. But Enthroned Darkness Triumphant, Puritanical Misanthropia Euphoria and Stormblast were very good albums. I honestly have never heard their first album, and search for it frantically. yeah... for all tids and stormblast were more less symphonic black metal

But they are some ov the be some ov the best songs they have ever released. Ones like "Broderskapets Ring", "Da Den Kristne Satte Livet Til", and "Antikrist". All ov those really showed through in talent for the band, and I listen to these songs, unbelieving into what they came to now.

How many times will I have to say this? Dimmu is not a black metal band, melodic or symphonic black metal (same genre, different way of saying it). It has more classical and symphonic influences along with the black metal style vocals. The guitar is close to black metal but can come out as too soft for some people to like it.

The genres don't matter. I cannot tell the difference between black or death. What I am trying to state is that their two albums were clearly dissapointing, black metal or not.

Nyghtbringer And?
I swear, when someone likes a band, as soon as other people start to like them, people instantly hate them. Oh dear, are they not something you can cherish, and in a method ov attempted de~sway ov conformity, you will no longer be associated with that band?
Well, I say all the power to them! If we can indulge more ears in "our" music tastes, then it will not die!
However, seeing that some people, who try to blame popularity on a "sell~out", do not listen to metal for the music and Hymn~ik it brings. They listen to it to be different. Which is what Americans claim as a "poser".
At least, with your statement, Harvested Sorrow, I now know that MTV2 is not lost in the rap music. Obviously there is a little lyght that shines. Read the post that I quoted. That will explain why I said that.

Yes, and she answered to it, making the point of saying that people tend to hate bands once other people like them, and it is a really good point

Hm, she seemed to not be sure of why I said it.
Honestly, I think people are taking this a bit too far in that direction, though.
Generally if people don't like a band once they're more popular it's not because the band is more popular, it's because of WHY they're more popular.

Think about it really, honestly could the band control who likes (or say likes) them? No, they have no control over their fanbase, so therefore because they got famous and people like them, they shouldn't be hated by the old or extreme fanbase

No, they have no control over their fanbase, so therefore because they got famous and people like them, they shouldn't be hated by the old or extreme fanbase They can't control their fanbase no, but they CAN change their sound to make themselves accessible to a larger fanbase. You're lying if you try to tell me that bands can't attempt to follow trends to gain more fans, which is what they did. It wasn't a matter of them getting bigger, it was a matter of them changing their sound so they could get bigger. People also get pissed off because they're called black metal, most would simply hate them because they think they're s**t now but not bring it up if people din't always claim them to be the best black metal band ever or what the hell ever, like they do with CoF.

How do bands make money?
Is it by selling albums and having the seats filled at shows?
And if you pertain to a small amount ov people, what will happen?
You probably won't make a lot ov money.....
Correct me if I am wrong, please!

Correct me if I am wrong, please! Your sort of right. Yes they may not sell out seats before you can get your wallet out but its there fanbase that they are aiming at. If they were to change there style to attrack more people they may lose the long time fans and end up not attracting nearly as many. Its all about risks, do they want to open up to a larger fanbase, and possible lose there working one? I dont mind Dummu but they arent entirly my style.

We really need some decent conversation of the band, I don't get why people come into the thread if they don't like the band
