Naeryn fights with herself as the second egg hatches, half of her wanting to help the tiny dragonet in pain, the other half telling her to wait. She decides on the latter as angry yells begin to reverberate across the Hatching Grounds.
Her eyes opening wide in shock, Naeryn hears a faint echo of Glith's anger. Wincing, she turns and glares at the man. How dare he interrupt a hatching? No respect... She looked around to see who he was so angry with, and saw the girl begin to shrink on herself. Naeryn slowly edges over to her and places one hand on her wrist, giving her a reassuring smile before returning her attention to the eggs.
Her gaze shifts back to the dragonets and eggs just as the third egg hatches. Seeing the dragonet stumble, she reaches one hand a little toward it, longing to go and help it stand. She drops her hand as it makes it's own way to it's feet and begins to look around for the one who will be it's bonded.

Nevaeh's eyes grew wide as Glith's anger raged. The commotion seemed to be over the man at the entrance yelling about one of the girls on the sands. Nevaeh didn't like where this was going or how Glith seemed to get angier every second. Things could get dangerous for those on the sands if Glith was to rage forward after the man. Finally the man left and Nevaeh gave a sigh of relief turning back to the hatchlings noticing that another had immerged from it's egg. Nevaeh smiled at the three sweet little faces that had hatched from their eggs. Oh what a joy these three would be for their riders but who would those riders be?
((I hope I'm right on the number that have hatched. Not sure though. sweatdrop ))

Kirana watched, her mind only half on the hatching as she rolled over in her head what would happen to her if she had to leave these sands by herself. First, Riran would most likely be waiting for her, and she would be punished by him and everything would go from there and she would be in so much trouble.

Glith has assured me that she is fine now, things should go smoothly now. *Thank you for your help, friend.* With that, K'elt let out a breath that he did not know he had been holding, and visibly relaxed. He stayed close to the entrance, and he could see fairly well from where he was. Always fun times at Fort Weyr, he thought, and the smirk returned to his face. ((Ok, now that the crisis is over, I will shut up and let the candidates have at it... smile ))

Faerra had heard Galuth's angry hiss at the holders intrudence, though she wasn't J'ran, she was more in tune with Galuth than other dragons. He would speak to her sometimes. She looked at the man, what could the fool be trying to do! It was terrible to inturrupt the hatching like that and agitate Glith, it was only a good thing she had not hurt him. Why were some people like that! What did he have against dragons? Well, it was no use wondering. As long as he was gone...
Just before the man left, her eyes had gone back to the hatching for a reason unknown to her, just in time to see a small egg crack open, and spill a hatchingling onto the sands. There were two others as well, though one appeared injured...she frowned in concern. She hoped it would be alright. Three hatchlings now. her gaze moved back to the small one, that had been keening pitiously. Poor thing, it must have been scared by the intrudsion. It was better now though, and it had begun to search for it's rider. She blinked, eyes moving over the three currently on the sands. Was one of them her bonded? Was Hers still encased in it's egg? Was her lifemate even here? These questions and more ran through her head unchecked as she observed them. She hoped that one of the dragons that would hatch would know her...yes, all she could do was hope, and believe with all her heart that there was one out there for her.

Kirana watched as the three dragonets, one of them still half in its shell, wandered about the hatching grounds. She winced as she watched the injuried dragon, not quite sure whether she should move forward and try to help the little dear or not... In the end, she decided it was best not to.

R'ign sighed as Glith settled back down, her emerald eyes catching sight of Tolara. "Gail, I'll see you after the Hatching." She slipped down the stands, wineskin in hand. She snuck around the edge of the Sands, staying to the shadows.
"Here." With one eye on the golden queen, R'ign handed Tolara the wineskin, whispering as she sat down next to her friend. "Good timing, though it would've been better if that man hadn't decided to disrupt the only good thing this Weyr's had in quite a while."

Slowly the tiny hatchling began to wander, going from candidate to candidate.
Awkwardly the cat hatchling began to wobble forward before tripping and falling onto it's shell. The snout dissapeared for a moment before the entire shell shattered.
The first hatchling was still wandering about. Out of frustration, or perhaps defiance, it suddenly sat down and waitied for it's to come get it.

Naeryn supressed a chuckle at the actions of the first hatchling, imagining it to be saying "fine then!". Her heart went out to it, understanding the underlying confusion. Gingerly, she begins to inch forward, unsure whether she should approach it or not.

Kirana staggered forward, wincing as she watched the injuried hatchling trip as its shell shattered. She glanced between the other two hatchling, one seeming to have given up looking and the other having set to the task quite deligently. Such differing personalities already so clear.

Riordan's eyes followed the tiny hatchling for a few moments, watching it eye each candidate as it passed by them. He then looked over at the injured dragonet, watching it finally break out of its shell. He hoped that it found its rider soon so that it could be tended to. Green eyes then turned to look at the first hatchling, the boy half wanting to go to the poor thing.

Faerra took another step in the direction of the hatchlings, but stopped, not sure how far she could, or should go. She waited as her feet twirled a small pattern in the hot sands of the hatching grounds, looking at each of the three dragonets. She noticed Naeryn also inching towards one of them. Faerra smiled, maybe that one was hers. She looked at each of the hatchlings, she didn't know. Was one of them hers? She took another small step, and then hesitated, not even watching, simply being for a moment. It was strange when this happened to her, it was like time would freeze, and she was aware of everything going on around her. Her sea green eyes sought out the hatchlings, meeting each of them in the eye. Would she know hers? Would hers know her? She hoped that maybe one of the hatchlings would know, her and would call to her. Maybe.

Tolara watched the sands dejectedly, tears still falling. Lost in her thoughts, she didn't notice the wineskin or her friend. She was just so tired...
Suddenly the tiny blue hatchling collided with Nevaeh. It had been watching another candidate and not where it was headed.
Jewled eyes snapped up at the girl. Mine? Mine! At that moment, Glith let out with a proud triumphant bugle. Impression occured.

Faerra watched as the blue hatchling impressed Neveah. She smiled and clapped for her friend, happy. Her gaze soon returned to the other two hatchlings though, would she have a chance of impressing one of them?

Naeryn jumps at Glith's sound; she'd been intent on the little hatchling. Smiling at Nevaeh and inwardly congratulating her, she then returns her gaze to the first, the hatchling stopped. She takes another step forward, eyes locked on the hatchling's shining hide.
