hmm...Syaowoof and I (mostly Syaowoof ninja ) came up with a theory about Celes. well, in the ED for season two (I know, it's bad to base things off of the anime, but still!) when young Fay is shown, Celes is pretty green. so...maybe it was like that before Ashura became king or something...?
or maybe it's just that it was wintertime when Fay left. xd *shrug* I'm just throwing some ideas out there...really, I just wanted to participate in a thread. XD; that's all.

That creature with the wings? Who the hell knows. I'm just guessing, if anything, it's Chii since she can apparently shape shift.
Yeah, I know the ears don't match, but guess what? Chii's... eyes do not match the... net she turns into.
There you go.

The Happy Ending by mistressmarionette
Once upon a time, Fai began, There was a little boy who lived in the north alone with his kitty...
One of my favorites on fanfiction.net. It was what first caused me to start looking at Fai closer than just face surface. Awesome story. heart
:::
I Capture the Castle by Mizu-Tenshi
Fai's magic cannot bring back the past. Ashura's dreams cannot create a future. Only snow and ice lie in Celes. Only the castle will remember their story. Some spoilers
Another fabulous story and great theory (though this one is much more thorough). My inspiration for Clad in White, as well as a HP fanfiction I found a long time ago. sweatdrop
:::
Jealousy by mistressmarionette
Kurogane has made some rather biased judgments about Fai. Whoever said Fai hasn't made any about Kurogane?
This story gives me the creeps every time I read it, which is why I love it so much. It's absolutely amazing, and makes you think about Kurogane and Fai and the details to just how they came to meet.
:::
Sometimes I Wish by Luinramwen
Two long years after everyone has gone their separate ways. Except for Fai and Mokona... A peaceful, wistful little vignette.
Before chapter 120, this is what I honestly thought would happen, and it almost broke my heart. Think about it. What else could have he done?

Here's what I think now:
Fai wasn't put in prison for doing something wrong, he was locked up for having such strong powers. They couldn't risk him putting people in danger so they just kept him away from people since he can't control his magic.
Fai says he wants to die (and who can blame him? If you lived your whole life in that crappy cell...) and he says "but before I die, I want someone to love me" which means that no one loved him before. That also supports the idea that he was always in the cell.
For whatever reason, Ashura-ou gets him out of the cell. I believe that Ashura-ou, before Fai, was the stronger magician or whatever in Celes, and he was able to give Fai his seal/tattoo, hence why Fai was allowed to be set free. Ashura-ou "adopts" him or something like that and teaches him about his magic and how to use it and everything like that. However...
Since we wouldn't know why Ashura-ou would decide to give Fai the tattoo and adopt him or whatever, I think Fai made some kind of lie (he said he made a lie, right?) to him and had to live up to it, only to, in the end, have Ashura-ou find out the hard way and... tadaa.
And I'm guessing that this lie had something to do with FWR. ;P

1) Who' FWR?
And as soon as that question came out of my mouth, I figured it out.
So cross that.
2) But didn't Fai say that he's on the run because there's someone who's underwater who wants to kill him, right? Which is Ashura-ou, right? So why was he so nice to him earlier.

Well yeah. Fai obviously put Ashura-ou to sleep, and like I said above, it probably happened after Ashura-ou found out Fai's secret/lie the hard way and it (the secret/lie, whatever it may be) was so bad that Fai had to put him to sleep so he could escape, perhaps from guilt.

Ooh, ooh, I just thought of something~! What if, uhm, some long time ago or something, Ashura's, uhm, relative(let's make it, uhm, a sister, because, uhm, yeah) got killed by, uhm, some sorta ancestor of Fai's (let's call it, uhm, a jealous great-uncle). So then some person in the royal family(let's call it, uhm, another great-uncle) imprisons Fai because he's the only, uhm, person left in that clan because the great-uncle was his guardian and then he committed suicide? So, then, after Ashura's great-uncle dies, he then lets Fai out, and then, yeah.
Or or or maybe Fai's family was originally the royal family, and his mom and dad were king and queen, but then the aforementioned great uncle of Ashura(not yet born) took over and threw them in jail and then it turned out that the queen had a baby who turned out to be Fai-fai who was a girl and is still a girl just looks like a boy who then got thrown in a different cell all alone. Then Ashura gets born somehow, great-uncle and everyone else dies, and then Ashura takes over and, yeah.

SyaoWoof I don't want to start a gigantic rant full of ridiculous theories, so I'll just mention one per post as shortly as I can... gonk
This is my most recent idea, and it's probably a stupid one: Again, it's an idea, not really a theory, but, what if Fai's actually the bad one, not Ashura-ou? Fai obviously sealed Ashura so he could escape, but... >_> Eh... Okay I'll shut up. I don't know where I'm going. I thought that at one point also..

i don't personally think that he was running from ashura-ou. i think he was protecting him. I KNOW IT SOUND FARFETCHED BUT LISTEN. when they are in the country of shara, kuro-puu said thatfai started to get nervous when they mentioned yasha but got worse when souseki-sama mentioned ashura.
so my theory is thatmaybe yasha had played some part in fai past. also i don't think that ahura did anything wrong because when fai and kuro-pon landed in the country of yama kuro-pii never noticed anything wrong with fai during the 6 months they were there. and don't u think that fai would h ave been a little scared if he had to live with ashura for 6 months. i know it doesn't make almost any sense but there must be something there that helps us!!!

lazy one i don't personally think that he was running from ashura-ou. i think he was protecting him. Well, from what I remember, we didn't really get to see much of what Kurogane and Fai were doing when they were in Shara or whatever.
And keep in mind that there are two Ashura's. There's the girly-looking Ashura which was the statue in this world, and theres the other Ashura who is a powerful king. They are both from RG Veda, and are two different characters.
I think that Ashura-ou is a good person deep down- he is just very... um... "demanding"? Like he's very determined to get what he wants. He's not exactly evil.
And for whatever reason, apparently Fai is what he wants right now. By sealing Ashura-ou, maybe Fai was protecting him from himself... it's a possibility, but in a way I somewhat doubt that. But I'm getting the feeling that Fai is a very dangerous person. Not just him, but apparently just by being involved with Fai, you would be at great risk. Fai's protecting the TRC group by not letting them get involved with him.
Also, speaking of that world ^, in the scene where he's getting pretty wasted with Kuro, he neeeearly tells him something. But just then that one guy barges into the room and asks them to come out for something. After Kurogane leaves, Fai stays behind for a second and says about Ashura-ou, "He doesn't seem to be watching, but he is." This shows that Ashura-ou, even in his sleep, can apparently hear and see Fai, making it even more risky for Fai to tell any of his secrets. It also shows that maybe Ashura-ou could control some of Fai's surroundings. It was right at the moment Fai was thinking about telling Kurogane something about his secret when that guy barged in, preventing him from doing it. It could have been a coincidence, yes. But from what he says afterwards, I highly doubt it.
He's running away for a reason. The first thing Ashura-ou is going to do when he wakes up is look for Fai. We just don't know why that is.
I hope that all made sense. ^_^
