The table went silent. Alys was eating, and watching Alex, mostly. She wondered why they chose him, but then again, she wondered why they did this in the first place.

Maybe the owner decided that humans weren't interesting enough, so to make them more interesting, they would turn them into hybrids! Okay, that just sounded stupid. Time to stop thinking about it.

"Wonder if they have Resident Evil in the entertainment room..." She said, rather randomly. She loved those games, and if there was one game she was good it, it was that.

Video games? Hey, there was a topic that had nothing to do with anything bad or depressing. Plus its not like he hadn't been looking the collection of video games over while he was at the Entertainment Center. "Huh? Oh, which one? I think I saw at least 4 in there while I was trying to track down something to play earlier."

Alex poked at the last bits of his food, before turning to look back up at Alys. He smiled some, "Well, it looks like you're feeling better now. I guess warm food will do the trick. Next time, try and remember to take a towel down with you before you decide to get yourself soaked to the bone though..." Yeah, he should probably take his own advice though, considering he fell into the lake.

"Really? Hmm. I haven't played Resident Evil four, yet. Wonder if it's as good as the reviews said it was... I used to have one, two, and three. One took me forever to finish... I screwed up so many times it wasn't funny. But, two and three were pretty easy..." She was rambling, now.

"Uh, anyway... You ever play any of them?"
PostPosted: Sun Sep 17, 2006 5:37 am

He shook his head a bit. "Not really. I used to play some games back before I graduated college but after I went to aircraft mechanical school, I never had a chance to really play them. Spent a lot of my money to pay for my flight lessons. Those things are pretty expensive, considering you have to pay for both instructor time and the aircraft rental as well."

"Isn't Resident Evil supposed to be about stuff with zombies or something?"

"Pretty much. Basically, this corporation called Umbrella created a virus that was supposed turn people and stuff into super-soldiers, but it brought them back from the dead and turned them into zombies. It escaped into this place called Raccoon city and... yeah. Shooting, zombie dogs, tyrants that are a pain in the a** to kill..." She coughed, having a sip of water.

"Lots of fun." She gave a sheepish smile. He must think I'm a psychopath...

Alexander just blinked a bit and then finished off whatever coke he had in his glass. Well, at least he did get the explaination of what the game was about. Although, now that she had explained it, a funny smirk crossed his face, one that seemed to try and hold back a laugh.

"So...", he said, snickering a bit, "Its a lot like here but with more zombies and less people turning into animals." Ok, maybe it wasn't funny but somehow it did seem appropriate, and to him that was all the humor he needed for the moment.

Alys laughed, scratching her temple, "Pretty much."

She gave herself a moment to stop laughing, tone it down to a chuckle, and then giggle it to a stop. Talk about outside her comfort zone. She hadn't genuinely laughed for the longest time, let alone enjoy someone's company. She felt as if she shouldn't get used to the feeling, being as she already knew most octos and squid are for the most part solitary.

"Actually, the forest mentioned in the games probably looks a lot like this place, minus the beach and stuff..." She chuckled.

Alexander just chuckled and nodded a bit. "I'm sure the zombies didn't have such nice duplexes either. But hey, its nice to see you actually thought that was funny. And here I thought the joke was just funny but in a bad way." He shook his head some and sat back in his chair.

"Ah, well, I'm sure you can find the game in the Entertainment center. Ah. Well this turned out to e a pretty good day, all things considering..."

She nodded, "I have to admit, it turned out a lot better than I thought it would," She crossed her arms over her stomach, letting them rest on the slightly tender appendages she was still getting used to. Strands of hair fell slightly over her face, but she left it, she was used to her hair falling everywhere and covering some of her face; she just wouldn't be used to not having to tie it up to work... She was gonna miss working.

"What game were you looking for when you went in there, by the way?"

He looked over to her as her hair fell over her face. He reached over with his hand and brushed the hair back a bit, so he could see her a bit more clearly. "Yeah, other than falling in the lake, it was a great day. And it was nice to meet someone to talk with around here. Thanks."

Alex stretched out a bit as he sat there,, wondering a bit about some thoughts that crossed his mind, nothing really important though. Nothing that he wanted to think about. Plus Alys had asked him a question. "What game? Oh, nothing in particular. I was just trying to see if they might have a good flight simulator game. Most flying games try to be a bit less realistic in the controls but thats mostly to make for better gameplay."

He thought a bit and then chuckled. "Maybe I'll look for one of those 'Star Fox' games when I get some time. With folks around here, I wouldn't be suprised if it was in the collection."

Alys almost flinched when Alex reached over to fix her hair, definitely not used to that. She gave a nod, wondering if there were. Maybe she'd have a go and see how long it would take for her to crash.

"I wonder if they would allow those on here... I know they aren't one-hundred percent realistic, but they could in theory teach someone the basics to flying, right?"
PostPosted: Mon Sep 18, 2006 4:33 am

He got a bit of a look on his face when Alys commented about learning the basics of flying from a flight sim. "Well, I'm sure you could learn the very basics but there's a lot more to it than they teach you in the game after all. Its sort of like the difference between driving a go-cart and a professional race car."

Alex rested his head on his hand, as he thought, "Not that it would do anyone any good around here though. As far as I've seen, the only aircraft around here are a few helicopters that bring folks here, and helicopters are a lot harder to learn than just an airplane. I didn't even try to get a helicopter license back when I might have been able too. But I can tell you whats wrong with an engine of one though."

He looked over and smiled some, as he thought a bit to himself. "So you have any other exciting plans for tonight?"

"I would try anyway... Hijacking the helicopter I mean. Well, not me, you... So you can at least try to get off this rock, before they get the chance to change you," It was probably futile, but hey, it was a good thought. Least he would be able to resume a normal life.

She thought a moment, "Not really. Just read or play a game, and go to bed," She chuckled, "I'm not the most entertaining person."
PostPosted: Mon Sep 18, 2006 5:41 am

He shook his head, "While it might sound like a good idea, I don't think that would turn out very well. But thanks for the bode of confidence. But knowing me, I'd probably mess something up major if I tried, and I'll be truthful, crashing in a helicopter isn't pretty." He looked back down at his empty glass and then shook his head some, trying to dismiss the idea. Him escaping wasn't likely, and he knew that.

"Ah, well, thats ok. Not everyone in this world has to be a social butterfly. I think I'm gunna go and stare up at the stars for a while."

Alys nodded, "Think I'll go find Resident Evil, and have a game."

She stood up, putting her sweater back on, and piling everything onto her plate, she dropped her shoes and stepped into them, listening to the squishing sound they made.

"It was nice meeting you, Alex, I guess I'll see you around the island, huh?"
