Here's a quick update on the Legendaries. We've decided that when a member successfully answers a Legendary Riddle, they must wait for two to come and go before they may participate again.

With that said, we have begun listing members who may not participate in the current riddle so that eavery knows whether or not they are able to go.

At the moment, Sasha_Yakushi and marth354 are the only ones out. Eeryone else is free to participate. Enjoy.

P.S, if no one answers the Riddle before it comes time for the next one, then a new Legendary will be chosen and a new riddle will be placed up for that Legend so I'd take as many chances as possible to get it right before time runs out.

This is more of a notice than an update, but I though it was worth mentioning. Some of you may have noticed that AStral, myself and several others have unique or complex personalities for our Pokemon. Well, we've decided that Pokemon personalities don't have to be restricted to those used in-game.

If you choose to, you may give your Pokemon anyt personality you want. The old and faithful in-game personality system will remain in effect though, for those of you who may not be creative enough to make up your own personalities for your Pokemon.

You all might have noticed that we have a new Subforum. Well that's thanks to Nereh, our enigmatic and usually AWOL Co-leader. Anyway, I'm working on a project for us all, not that the subforum name didn't give it away.

I'm working on a system for Secret Bases. Ordinarily, you'd need Secret Power to get one, however, if you happen across a Digger Drill(15 posts in Eterna City) you can make one without it.

Anyway, our Secret Bases will also be special, rather than simply being a place of your own to decorate, I'm going to see if AStral will work with me for something extra special to do this, but they'll also grant special bonuses to our members. We've already got a few special items rigged up for use, but we haven't yet decided on a completely perfect way of passing these items out.

I'm always accepting ideas and suggestions, so if you've got an item and bonus for it that you'd like to see when this feature is finished, feel free to send me a PM and let me know about it.

I'll give you guys another update when I've got the features all set up and ready to go.

There's a new Fourth of July event in the Events subforum. Check it out for your chance at three different uncommon Pokemon here at Hidden Legends. =)

Also, there seems to be trouble brewing in a previously inaccessible part of the world, Harmony Islands. Many users are starting to head there now for what seems to be a showdown, but none are really sure what will take place.

The Islands are not open as of yet, but should be soon!

To get to Harmony Islands once they are open:
Accessible from Vermillion, Fuschia, Olivine, Mahogany, Slateport, Liliycove, Canalave and Snowpoint Cities.

Travel to any one of these cities and take the ferry located there.

There's a special random Event in the Events subforum, so if you want a free ride on training a Pokemon, head on over and take a look.

*pokes people with random flavored Pocky*

This is a quick update.

I'm releasing additional Heart Compasses.

Every active member who wants to take part in a special event needs only to travel to the nearest seaside town to them and they can retrieve a Heart Compass and take a ferry from there to Enkotsu Island in Kanto.

Seaside towns are: Vermillion, Fuschia, Olivine, Mahogany, Slateport, Liliycove, Canalave and Snowpoint Cities.

Berries and Poffins are released!

The Contest system is very close to being done, so you can go ahead and start making those poffins for your Pokemon.

Poffin/Pokeblock Creation

~You can mix 2 berries together on your own. Two berries from each other person that you're mixing with can be added if you're making poffins/pokeblocks together.
~You are not limited to mixing with people only from your region's starter. Let's pretend that you get whatever you need from the mixer, be it Poffin or Pokeblock. That would limit everyone too much. xD
~Add up bonuses to stats from the berries.
~Top 2 (if bonus equals +2 or more) attributes are what the snack will turn out to be. (i.e. Sweet +3, Dry +2, Bitter +1 would end up with a Sweet Dry Poffin. With Sweet +4, Dry +1, you'd end up with just a Sweet Poffin).
~In the odd case of a tie between different types, you get to choose what type the poffin will be. For example, Sweet +3, Dry +3, Bitter +3. I can choose a Sweet Dry Poffin, Sweet Bitter Poffin, Dry Bitter Poffin, etc.

Once you have the Poffin/Pokeblock type, you roll for the level.
~Generate a random number between 1 & 10. This will be the base level for the snack.
~If you used a 20-post berry, add +1 to the level.
~If you used a 30-post berry, add +2 to the level.
~If you used a 40-post berry, add +3 to the level.
~If you have a special berry, received either from contests or special events, add +4 to the level.

The max poffin/Pokeblock if you're making a poffin solo is Lv. is 14 if you're extremely lucky. Minimum level is 2.

Mixing a snack with another person will give you higher level poffins. Each person will roll for level, then add bonuses. After each user has their level, add them to the levels together.

For example, user #1 ended up with a Lv. 7 poffin, and user #2 ended up with a Lv. 5 poffin. Adding them together will give you each a Lv. 12 poffin. =)

You can mix poffins/pokeblocks with 3 other users max. Totaling 4 players in all.

On a similar note, if you make Poffins, and the other person makes Pokeblocks, you can mix together. Just pretend the snack changes to the kind you use. xD

Poffins add bonuses based on the type and level.
Remember you can only feed 12 poffins/pokeblocks to your Pokemon total, so choose wisely!

Lv 2: +2 in types listed
Lv 3-5: +4 in types listed
Lv 6-8: +7 in types listed
Lv 9-11: +10 in types listed
Lv 12-14: +13 in types listed
Lv 15-17: +16

Berries and Berry Trees

Berries are listed in the Items thread. Unless a berry is obtained only by special events/contest prizes, then you can get one by posting the number of times listed on the Items thread. You can obtain a berry by posting anywhere, and don't have to stick to the same town/dungeon.

Berry Trees-
You can have the option to simply post for more berries, or you can take a berry earned and plant it. There will be a subforum for berries and poffins soon.

In the meantime, keep berry trees and poffin creating in your character's profile/pokedex. Once we have the subforum ready, we can use that.

When you plant a berry, note in the items thread how many posts it will take until the tree is mature. This is spread over the course of at least 2 days. Half of the required posts on one day, half on the next. However, if you miss a day, your tree will not die, just pick up the count later on.

Once a tree is mature, generate a random number to determine how many berries you got from the tree. For example, if you get 3-5 berries from one type of berry tree, generate a number between 3 and 5.

Another note about berries.

They still have the same effects for eating them in the games. Take a look at the Items thread if you need more info. A few changes were made (i.e. the PP restoring berries do nothing, as we don't count PP in the RP... that's too many abbreviations in one sentence...).

Berries can be held by a Pokemon however, you must have it listed in your Pokemon's stats when you enter a battle. You can't attach berries mid-battle.

In battle, if your Pokemon is weakened, or falls under a status problem, if it is holding the berry that will cure it, it will eat it automatically. This will not take up your turn for that battle, like it would if you used a Potion or other healing item.

However, as in the games, Pokemon may not hold synthetic healing items, just berries. So no giving your Squirtle a Hyper Potion to hold in battle. That won't work.

Ok, folks. If you go check the Events subforum, you'll find yourselves a new holiday contest up. It's a scavenger hunt for Shining Leaves that've been scattered around.

I'll warn you now, though, that the setup isn't fiinished yet, but I wanted to get it open before I missed the holidays completely.

Ok, the setup is complete for the Thanksgiving event! Sorry for taking so long on it but you're good to start looking for the rest of those leaves if you found any of them already.

If you've read the thread already but haven't started, there's been a few changes, one being that you've got until Dec 12th to find them all now and there's only 50 to find now instead of 100.
