Meh well Dawn of the dead remake was good and all. I mean I think if they take there time and work hard on it they will come out good. Un like the remake for House of Wax. that was really bad. the only thing I liked about it was that Hilton Died. So I am mixed I mean they can be really good with a lot of time money and a good director and a great team of make up artists.

Re makes that are coming up!

A Tale of Two Sisters - a Koran one this time!

The Birds - ok I am mad about this one >< How dare you! who ever is reamakeing this I hope you die.

The Blob - wtf? 0.o

Bride of Frankenstein - It could turn out good

Day of the Dead - I hope it will be good. it better be >>

Dead of Night - it better be good

Evil Dead - wtf! No I really hope they put this in the remake thing on acadent.

The Fly - meh >>

The Fog - right

Pet Seminary - I refuse to see this till some one I trust gose to see it and tells me it is good

that is all I can find. here is the site I got them from

OK:
Two Sisters, neutral
The Birds, NO!
The Blob? How the hell r they gonna remake that when it's alreday been remade?
The Bride of Frankenstein? No way in hell could they do that. In order to do that, they'd have to remake the original film. Plus, you can't remake the greatest horror film of all time.
Day of the dead? Maybe...
Dead of Night? No friggin' way.
The Fly? See The Blob

I liked the remakes of Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Dawn of the Dead. I liked these remakes because it shows that movies that are remade can follow the original to an extent. I think that the remake to massacre had some of the aspects to the original like having leatherface being an outcast and the spike through the back but in the remake it was an obnoxious guy instead of a girl. and Dawn of the Dead was awsome with the special effects. I only seen the unrated version so it was better.

The Massacre remake has almost no aspects of the original. Where was the camerawork which made the original even more gritty and, essentially, look like a documentary or re-enactment (which is what made the original seem so realistic)? Where was the cannibalism, cross-dressing, grave-robbing, and morbid interior designing, and multiple killers which made the original even more ridiculous and insane (and, therefore, memorable)? Why did the remake have to include a subplot about a kidnapped baby?

All the remake is is a ninety-eight minute music video (and surprise, surprise, director Marcus Nispel has not worked on anything other than music videos or TV commercials before The Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake). The video quality is smooth, the editing is quick, it has no soul, and its main purpose is for the public to go out and buy useless s**t that they do not need.

And as for the Dawn of the Dead remake, it was never supposed to be looked at as a special effects spectacle; the original was intended to be a social satire, an attack on consumerism, and a look at how the shopping mall is central to life (something that is still true to this day). Of course, those working on the remake overlooked that.

i think remakes are okay, but the original can never be replaced.

What's your stance on horror movie remakes. Good Idea or bad? There are some that should have been left alone, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Hitcher (in production), Psycho etc.
The Psycho Re-make was the worst movie I have ever seen! The original is about the opposite

I've seen both Psychos and I thought they were pretty much the same.
Plus, I heard that it was every single frame as the original. Just in color with newer actors. I can't tell unless I see the two movies one after the other. So how can the remake be bad? It's not as good as the original but it's not bad.

But the remake still served absolutely no purpose. Why tamper with perfection? There is absolutely nothing original in Van Sant's adaptation. What was intended to serve as an homage to the original work ended up cheapening it.

I think that we can't stop people from making remakes. I guess it's just something we'll have to deal with. Unless we kill the people trying to remake the movie, and tape it to make a horror movie blood bath of our own. ninja

to me the big problem is there are movies out there begging to be done when all thay want to do is remake the ones already done. such is the case of Chainsaw Sally (hopeing some one knows what I am talkin about)

but here is an interesting view on remakes

one day I was listening to the radio (it was maybe just before the remake of chainsaw came out) and Gunner Henson (sp?) was on. he happened to be in town filming Chainsaw Sally. thay asked him a couple things about Sally then proceded to ask him his opinion on the chainsaw remake and he said something to the lines of " I like the idea you see becouse alot of kids are gona want to go see it but won't be able to becouse of the rateing. but when thay go to the video store with there parents thay are gona see a DVD there for The Texas Chainsaw Masacre and are gona rent it. and instaed of seeing the new one thay are gona be seeing the original."

I know it is an odd way off looking at it but I can kinda see his point.

I think I am in the minority my fellow Horror Movie fans , although in my defense I wish to say : Even if a film is remade , it still needs a fresh angle .
Texas Chainsaw Massacre at least gave a little of that as did Dawn of The Dead, however I totally agree that the 1998 version of Psycho was a total waste of celluloid , I mean , why not Colorize Hitchcock * screams in terror at his own thought lol *
I just think that if you want to re-do a film , make it good.
btw Everyone know about George Romero's new one Land of The Dead ..
I agree on this guys take on the whole subject. Fresh new angles can also bring newer horror fans back to the originals.
