I think I watch more American animation than Japanese. Comics are the opposite.

My anime DVDs are quickly growing in number with the booming releases of coveted titles. Same for my manga. Even though most of mine are in Japanese anyway. sweatdrop American animation is good but I really don't watch actual cable TV anymore so I don't see any of it. Eh, oh well. wink

Actually I own more Japanese animation even though I watch it less.

I own more anime too, I think, but that's because at the time it came in convienent box sets. I stopped buying it though, and just watch what's on the telly.

I had alot from when I was a loser but most of those I gave to my friends. Mostly I just buy used unless there is something I really want.

My beloved Half Price Bookstore has anime, and for cheap too! But it's so close to my little corner where I am surrounded by Russian and Asian history. The Commie books keep calling to me, so I have to leave the cartoons behind to go buy another book about Gulags. But when I am unable to resist the temptation of history, I can get a pretty good deal. And then I can sell them back if they're bad, so I get half of my money back. Which is why Clara doesn't have very much anime.

And this pointless story proves that I am not a closet anime otaku, but more of a crazy Commie fangirl who exploits the Capitalist system of my local Half-Price Bookstore for my devious cheap anime purchasing purposes. ninja

I actually had my mum sit down and watch Cowboy Bebop with me tonight, she enjoyed it a lot.

She's actually a bit of a Slayer's fan, which is my fault. XD My step-father is out of down and she's all "Can we watch the funny cartoon with Lina Universe? The one where she blows all the s**t up?"

lol

I need my parents to start bringing me places. I really want to buy the stuff and the only thing stopping me is that I don't get allowance, I don't have a job (yet, I might get one next summer), and my parents despise anime and manga. >.> They despise me doing any kind of reading other than... textbooks and SAT prep books..

Go with them when they run errands. That's how I've gotten all the entertainment things I own.

Just do it, damnit. You'll at least get to pick out the good groceries.

My friends know how much I love anime/manga and eventhough some of them have never seen or read any of them, they already know all about them thanks to me. But, it is completely different with my parents. They think that anime is evil or something, so I tend to watch it and read my mangas at night when they are asleep. So I am not sure whether I would be closet or not. I hide my anime/manga in a cabnit beside my TV...

I'm an otaku, but I don't tend to hide it. Definately a Yu-Gi-Oh! otaku. XD I'm only allowed to put posters on one wall so my mom doesn't have to look at them.
